Progress score from The Stadium...... In a very dour affair, typical of the early rounds, the visiting Huskies are leading the home team 5/369 to 3/208, being well served by young gun Max Holmes 102, and evergreen defender Andrews with 99. No home scores are worth mentioning.... @Wolffy84
Update from Mill Park as we approach 1/4 time sees the Parasites with an early lead @ddsaints SFB 217/3/72 PP 245/3/81
Congrats, congrats, and congrats. Have a drink for each one of your 'FU mates!!! It doesn't need to be said, because we all know you're going to have a fantastic weekend.
After the first 3 stanzas the Comorants are leading Ararat 254 to 92. Tough break for the visitors with Big Max going down early. @insider
Score update from The Stadium sees the local team soar back into the contest after a very lackustre performance in the first stanza, and now lead the Huskies 9/791 to 10/720.... It all started for the Barcrawlers in the midfield where Adams (110) had one of his better games, which then allowed L D-U (155) to continue from where he left off in the 2nd half of 2022. Dawson (110)down back, kept their forwards in check, while Elliott (103) up front, kicked a couple of snags which put the Locals noses in front. The next period sees Banchang's Collins Duggan Buckley Ladhams and Riccardi up against Jiath Caldwell Papley and Flanders, and hopefully with enough of a lead to secure our 1st win for 2023, contrary to what the ladder position shows in TSLeagues......and to which @eagle_eyed will attest. @Wolffy84
At the Dino Dome the home side is trailing the visitors in a close game with plenty to come from both teams. HPD 662/8/82 CP 755/10/75 @JPK
Update from Hughenden sees the visitors still in front but with fresh legs from Ash, Ginbey, Ward and Barrass the home team are hoping to chase the margin down:- HPD 949/11/86 CP 1,109/15/94
Full Time at The Stadium and the Barcrawlers have run out winners 1224-1118. In a spirited 2nd half, the visitors, with Witts108, taking full control in the centre bounces and around the ground and ably supported by Papley 94 up front, tried valiantly to overcome the locals, but with Collins and Buckley 91 and 99, resolute in the last line of defence and Jones 93, in his 1st game for Banchang, running the ball out from the back half, it was a bridge too far for the visitors, who no doubt tired badly as the game wore on, not used to the 34C heat and 80% humidity. With the game well and truly over, all that is left is for both teams to climb into their respective team buses and head up to The Strip and partake in the customary Banchang Barcrawl.... BOG: 3. Davies Uniacke BB 155 1.5 Dawson BB 110 1.5 Adams BB 110 BIG Tap: Witts HH 108 def Ladhams BB 59 Next Round sees Banchang at home again, up against the lads from Christmas Island while Horsham continue their World trip and head to the bowels of deepest Africa to compete against Serengeti.... @Wolffy84 @DamoH @wrightbrendan
Thanks @choppers for the final match report, and the constant score updates throughout the round. The more of that sort of thing the better from my perspective. Well done to the Barcrawlers. A lot of solid contributors for the Huskies, but not enough players stepped up to get us the 1200+ score needed to get the win.
ive got 1218 vs 1202. stiff loss for you if thats accurate Ron!! Edit: Will Day out of position scaled it back a touch, but still. Unlucky mate

Cormorants Fail to Take Chances The Cormorants played their first game at home since the move west across the weekend and for a while it looked like the locals would witness an exciting upset win against the highly touted Ararat Armadillos. Unfortunately it wasn't to be, with the more experienced Armadillos running out winners 1218 to 1154. When star Armadillo Max Gawn went down in the early stages without a score on the board the possibility of an upset began brewing. However, perhaps in sympathy, Cormorants ruckman Darcy decided to play with his boots on the wrong feet, significantly hampering his ability to function as a human being much less a footballer and subsequently turned in a score of 41 which would prove costly in the end. For the visitors Luke Ryan, Nick Blakey, Andy Brayshaw and Jack Ziebell showed great leadership to steady the ship once big Max went down, all delivering impressive scores. For the home town heroes it was a wonderful performance from number 1 draft pick Ashcroft that had tongues wagging along with the continuation of the career renaissance for Mason Wood. Also promising for the Comorants was the debut of draftee Wardlaw in the reserves team, hopefully he can push for senior selection in the near future. The Armadillos head home now for a clash of undefeated sides whilst the Cormorants are away to the Bulls where at least one team will notch their first win of the season. @insider
