See, that's kinda what I was aiming for, for the blog to flow through seamlessly to the forum, for forum posts to be upgradable to the blog, and for the whole damn thing to be accessible through tapatalk.

It's all pretty close to that- though you're right, a bit of a style change for the blog probably wouldn't hurt.

With the new ladder position draw, I think the Bombers will sneak a couple early then get belted when they play anyone outside the bottom four!

It all depends on the asaga. I actually think we'll be "In the mix for, but not quite scraping into the top 8" level competitive if it gets knocked on the head by CAS.

Otherwise, it's gunna be an ugly, ugly season.

I think, you are spot on, we are an 8 - 12 position team if all goes well.

Admittedly I had just pushed the Asaga out of my brain until I seriously sit down and prep for this season!

The ruling is supposed to be delivered some time next week (Or at least a deadline for the ruling I think) - so at least we'll have closure leading into the season. (famous last words!)

Closure. Gee, I hope so for all our sakes.

Tell you what though, the asaga damaged my love of the game hugely. It's starting to improve, and I still love playing fantasy, but I dunno, it's all changed.

Would love to know what lasting effects it's had on the psyche of the greater community- if any, or if it's just effected the Bombers fans.

Or maybe I just take it too seriously. :D

      Totally over it
      From an outsider's perspective;
Feel the EFC has gotten off way too lightly so far
Feel the Ess players have been made to take the blame/heat/consequences of their employers actions
Feel delight Hird has gone, at best he was an incompetent manager

Hopefully the issue is dead in a few weeks, that, the death of the sub and finals footy for the giants will make the season a lot more enjoyable for me

Agree with Len, the players have been held responsible for their employers actions which is not fair. I loved that EFC was getting some comeuppance but now feel really bad for the players and question what benefit their is in punishing the club further. Those responsible are now gone and been penalised.

What annoys me is that a rogue club (and yes others may have also been doing similar things) has taken the focus off the football for so long. If the AFL and EFC hadnt tried to cover it up, it would have been dealt with long ago.

      Seems crazy doesn't it.

Ian Robson walks into the CEO job at the Melbourne Victory
Dean Robinson walks into a Associate Director of Mergers and Acquisitions at KPMG
Hirdy scored a massive contract and a plum overseas education opportunity.
Demetriou joined the board of The Bastion group, joining McLachlan, in a company that directly competes with Hirds Gemba group.
Senator Kate "Blackest day in sport" Lundy now works for the Bastion group.
Liz Lukin, the PR agent that was put into Essendon when it all broke, was appointed the head of the AFL's corporate affairs.
Heck, even Dank picked up a gig in the IPL and is now winning libel cases against the newspapers.

So much of the whole thing fricking stinks, and at the end of the day, it was the players (and the fans) who were left holding the can.

It effects other fans like me, simply due to sick of hearing about it rather than pure football.
I for one sick to death of ASADA and WADA that are an outside source that could not give two hoots about our sport.
I would rather the AFL had been able to look after it's own sport and deal with it but this is not the case.
However for Essendon fans like yourself it will effect your feeling for your club for some time.
Thankfully for you guys it has not hurt your club foundations. It is a dent in the brand but not the foundations.
Give it another 6 or 7 years and you will probably feel happy when your club has no more links to this past issue.

I dunno, if the CAS ruling comes back unfavorable, I foresee a fairly large dent occurring in the foundations. Particularly if it leads to the players lining up to sue the club. Could get very ugly.
