    The Cuda's finish on 1,303/15 86.9 to the Buffalos @wrightbrendan on 1,093/13 84.1

What a tight tussel, the home team up by 210 with the visitors having Kelly and Greene to come, it'll come down to the final minutes.

    Match Report

The air was thick with excitement as the Nuytsland Vikings and the Coolgardie Prospectors faced off on the oval at "the graveyard." The two teams had a fierce rivalry, with both sides determined to come out on top in this crucial AFL match.

As the game began, the Vikings quickly established their dominance. Their superior skills and physical prowess allowed them to take control of the ball and move it up the field with ease. The Prospectors tried to mount a defense, but they were no match for the Vikings' strength and agility.

Despite the Vikings' early success, the Prospectors refused to give up. They dug deep and fought back with everything they had. Their own skills and tenacity were on full display, as they battled fiercely against the mighty Vikings.

However, in the end, it was the Vikings who emerged victorious. Their combination of physical strength, strategic thinking, and teamwork proved too much for the Prospectors to handle. With a final score of 1344 to 1190, the Vikings had secured a hard-earned victory.

As the game ended, the Vikings celebrated their win, while the Prospectors reflected on what could have been. But despite the outcome, both teams had given it their all, showcasing their own unique talents and competitive spirit in a thrilling match that will be remembered for years to come.

As the sun began to set on "the graveyard," the players and fans slowly made their way out of the oval. But the memories of this epic showdown between the Nuytsland Vikings and the Coolgardie Prospectors would stay with them forever, a testament to the spirit of AFL and the fierce passion of its players.

In terms of physical strength and endurance, Vikings were known for their intense training and physical fitness. They would have been able to outmatch many of the prospectors in terms of raw strength, allowing them to overpower their opponents and take control of the ball.

However, the prospectors would have had their own advantages as well. They would have been skilled in the use of tools and machinery, which could have given them an edge when it came to precision and accuracy on the field.

    The Barracuda's finish on 1,297/15 86.5 defeating the Buffalos on 1,295/15 86.3

Welcome to Gather Round being played in Groote Eylandt it's such an honour especially with the league leaders coming to town, the Buffalos are on their way.

In defence, the Seagull is back, Lloydy had plenty of the ball, even slipped one through the big sticks only to be denied in a controversial call where the ball clipped some undone goal tape! Weitering found the ground heavy tagging SPP, Tuohy had Switkowski’s number, while Corr was slippery when wet.

The centre square resembled a war field with each teams’ warriors grunting and groaning to get their hands on the footy first. The Bont was again on fire, pushing his way through his opposition withs disposals and takles. Corn Boy Cripps was held this week, however still managed 19 disposals. Guthrie ran with Kelly trying to stop his momentum late in Q4 and Jarrod flavoured Berry managed 2 goals before being subbed out at ¾ time.

In what was going to be a clash of the big men turned out to be a meek encounter, Stan-ley getting plenty of touches but getting sharked by Zerrett and Lazy Lycett just hasn’t done the work and had to be subbed off in the Q2.

Up forward AstroNaught was held by May, kick 1, Errol again rotated through the middle, getting the pig skin to the front of the goal square. The Magnificent Zorko ran all day, kick 1 early and was on the other flank feeding into the goal square. At the top of the key was Tomahawk bagging as many goals as he could, worked hard under the ball as well taking on all comers.

Off the bench, Smith was loping off the wing with nice leg speed, keeping his goal tally clicking with a nice spear punt on a difficult angle. Lewis Young was excellent again rotating out of defense and chipping in with the big tap.

The visitors felt uneasy with Switkowski coming off in the first passage of play. However, they sent in Daniher who immediately got to work kicking goals and Danger, well did Danger things.

May was locking down AstroNaught, Burton gave it his all but it was average and Ridley lead the way after Saad who had plenty of the ball was subbed off in Q4 with hammy tightness.

Lycett was not good at all and might have been the difference in his team getting the ball more as he couldn’t jump to save himself and was subbed off in Q2.

Parish was able to get some clean disposals which got his team going, Zerrett had 35 possessions, incredible, however he was pinged for a high and dangerous tackle and might be missing next week. Viney the bull went toe to toe with the Bont and Kelly was tagged until Berry went off and then he was free, he chased down everything.

In their forward line, SPP was tagged by Weitering however Cameron was kicking goal for goal with Tomahawk and Green, wow what a star who had the hot hand in the last 10 minutes of the match.

Just about every player for each side was trying to get their hands on the footy, the home team in front by the skin of their teeth, the visitors kept on hammering on even though they were down on players, pushing and pushing. In the end the home team held them off just enough to take the 4 points, what a game, what a win by 2 points!
    .
For both teams they have plenty of injury worries and a possible suspension of Zerrett. The Buffalos @wrightbrendan head home to take on the Bulls, while the Cudas head to Pakenham.

BOG – Tomahawk (GEB), The Bont (GEB) & Zerrett (SB)

A real nail bitter in Carnamah this weekend with the winner not decided until the dying moments. Heading into the later stages of the contest the visiting Huskies held a 1093 to 1045 lead however a great performance from Mr Consistent Mason Wood and an off day from Jade Gresham saw the Cormorants storm home for the win 1143 to 1110.

The game ebbed and flowed with the Comorants getting more numbers to the contest early while a half time blast from the Huskies coach led to a far more hard working team after half time and the increased desire to get numbers at the coal face led to more scores on the board.

In the end there wasn’t really much separating both teams in this one with plenty of average scores to go around (Florent 50, Tucker 47, Brown 0, DeKoning 52, MacDonald 58 v Starcevich 58, Drew 50, Mead 43, Williams 53, Jiath 51, Gresham 17) which probably doesn’t bode well for either team going forward.

    Votes
    3- Papley (HH)
    2- Darcy (CC)
    1- Reeves (HH)

    Big Tap
    Darcy 136 def Reeves 117
