Good times had by all! Except those that lost. Apologies for the delay people!

Gariwerd Cockatoos 1041 vs Charlies Opening Spelunkers 1466

Spelunkers gave the cocks a spe-lanking! That feels like something you shouldn’t look up on google kids. With 10 players over 90 for Spelunkers this round, there’s surely some excitement amongst fans that this could be the year? Heaps of players to choose from in the Spelunks, but BOG has to be Darcy with a 151. Cockatoos also had some players, but only 2 turned up. Well done Drew (107) and Walker (112). The rest? Meh.

Gundagai Grasshoppers 1203 vs Foul Bay Chickens 1389

Do chickens eat grasshoppers? In this game they did. Lead by the massive Goldy, who also scored a massive 171, Foul Bay took a lead early on that was massive. Feel like I’m using massive too much. Still got cock splanking on the brain. It wasn’t all the Chickens way however as the mids at Grasshoppers are basically unbeatable; Oliver, Cripps, Neale and Mills (wowee) – but in this case … they were totally beaten. Mills decided to go and get injured and only scored 4 and Cripps felt he should watch the game, but soon realised this was not good for the team and came back on to score 60. Chickens mids of Libba, Kelly, Acres and Aish.. smashed em.

Iron Knob Codpieces 1004 vs Dunsborough Dung Beetles 912

Battle of the bottom. Just like me doing this write up, at the last second my codpieces decided to turn up. Dung had me the whole game until DeGoey smashed out a 128! I know that’s not really a massive score like the previous write ups, but for bottom teams this is as good as it gets okay? Stop looking down on us. Kinda like the logies, our teams are full of B grade celebrities with maybe one or two names you know.

Larrikin Lagoon Lefties 828 vs Cradle Mountain Devils 1174

I think this game is interesting. Being that to be left-handed in the day was a sign of the Devil. I feel these two teams should stop playing against eachother and just be friends. They were meant to be. My opinions aside, the Devils did away with the Lefties and push further up the ladder. BOG goes to Marshall, who, by the way, is on the Devils bench. Yeah that’s right, he’s not good enough to be on the field, why? Because English is the main ruck. Yes, I’m jealous and actually a little annoyed. When did this all happen? How did the devils get this ruck combo? Sneaky devil.

Lovely Banks Lilacs 1166 vs Birdsville Battlers 1117

WHAT A GAME!!!! The Lilacs (with like, petals and stuff?) beat the battlers (who I imagine as quite brutish?) by 49 in the second* closest game of the round! How did this happen? Did the lilacs smash them with a flower? I don’t get it. BOG goes to the Battlers Witherden though, with 118.

*Realised later I needed to edit. There is a closer game. Didn’t want to rewrite the whole thing though, just inserted the word ‘second’. That’s not lazy, its smart. Stop judging me.

Marble Bar Misfits 1133 vs Wineglass Bay Packers 1064

Misfits go into this game with no emergencies, why? Because that’s just the confidence they have in their players. No need to worry, no players were harmed in the making of this round and misfits come out victors, frustratingly to Packers, led by players from teams, who represent states that don’t care about AFL (ie Gold Coasts Ballard -124, GWS Kelly -116, GWS Flynn -101 etc).

Mount Beauty Uglies 1479 vs Whitsunday Warriors 1145

Uglies end up with a massive 1479. Are they the only team that will challenge Spelunkers this year? 9 players over 90 … seems like they’ll be up there at seasons end! BOG, Jack Viney with a 149.

Bit of a sad one this one. As a newby I didn’t get the chance to really connect with the Warriors and Terry, but I can tell he was well loved by everyone on here. Ultimately, it serves as a reminder as to why we play this nutty game. Its fun, but more than that, it provides a connection to other like-minded crazy people who bring a sense of shared enjoyment. RIP Terry.

Nareewillock Nuffers 1333 vs Waikikamoocow Incorrigibles 1223

Nuffers… the name is misleading cause they’re good. Redman (136), Richards (113) and Serong (120) were all great scores, but Gulden’s 156 takes BOG. Waikikisamococ … Wakakak… Waikmoo.. the incorrigibles gave a valiant effort though, some consistent scores across the board, but they just need to try harder and do better. That’s my coaching advice to my players. Do better. Kick more goals. I’m gonna write a book with coaching tips, stay tuned.

Venus Bay Vultures 1287 vs Wagga Wagga Wombats 1294

THE ACTUAL CLOSEST GAME OF THE ROUND!!!! 7 points difference! What an epic battle! I don’t know if a Wombat would be able to pick off a Vulture in real life, but this not national geographic and who cares. Doesn’t need to make sense, Wombats win with a kick after the siren to Sicily (134) who ummm… got a bit lost and ended up in the forward line? Could happen. BOG though, Joey Daniher with 147… smashed it.

Well worth waiting for @churchboy . Looking forward to the book with coaching tips - the cows need to order in advance. Or maybe it's a drafting problem?

Great write up... appreciate the motivational lift, but the Spelunkers aren't in the same league as the Hopper and the Chooks, who should both be under ASADA scrutiny in my opinion!

Great write up @churchboy . Though I'd say less brutish and more hillbilly for the Battlers. Used to have a logo that depicted it well.

How you have the lowest total points in the comp but have three teams below you on the ladder does not help your position as a 'friend' when I hold your bloody draft pick
