@bryzza Very close! In a super tight finish, the Vikings have done just enough to reverse their close game fortunes with a (roughly) 18 point victory. Serengeti 1381 def by Nuytsland 1399 Full match report to follow
Barracudas 1110 def Bunyip 1103 The Bunyips suffered their 4th loss of the season by 19 points or less. How frustrating. The Barracudas turned up to play after the long trip from Groote Eylandt. Unfortunately their last standing ruckman, Harry Barnett, failed to get on the transport (Aaron Hall also missed) and the Barracudas relied upon Jake K to go up against ROB. Luckily for the Cudas, ROB was in 2nd gear all day and only managed 61 points. The Defenders and Mids were pretty much the same scoring across both lines for both teams... average. It was the visitors Forward pack that did all the damage... 3 talls in Riewoldt, Hawkins and Naughton who were unmatchable with young gun, Errol Gulden running around and scoring at will with a BOG performance (156). BOG - Gulden - 3 Walsh - 2 Atkins - 1 Big Tap - O'Brien
Bunyips 1301 def Cormorants 1140. The Bunyips enjoyed the 2nd straight home game and decided it was a great opportunity to put on a show for the Cormorants. A scuffle at half time between some of the Blanchetown locals and the visiting mob from Carnamah was almost enough to derail a fantastic game of footy. It was later found out that some of the locals (as discovered by their full size back Bunyip tattoos) were in fact the instigators of the scuffle as they were seen drunkenly mocking a one-legged Cormorant taking a dive off the hoods of their cars into large puddles. The perpetrators have been sanctioned and now have to walk to the next home game. Across the park, the Bunyips midfield fired with some BOG performances from Daicos (123) Horne-Francis (123) and Durham (107). Visiting young gun Will Ashcroft (124) was lively all game. Bailey Dale (141) and Houston (128) were stalwarts down back. The ruck contest was very close and fierce with O'Brien (99) just holding out Shrek (91). A huge performance off the bench for up and coming star Josh Weddle (114) will give the visitors something to cheer about. BOG - Dale - 3 Ashcroft - 2 Daicos & Horne Francis - 1 Big Tap - ROB
The Barracuda's finish on 1,147/15 76.5 defeated by the Bulls on 1,225/15 81.7 Welcome to Sir Douglas Nichols Round being played in Ayangkidarrba (Groote Eylandt) is such an honour especially our clubs B&F is his name sake. However, the normal air of excitement has given way to trabeation with last week’s narrow win albeit a poor performance. In defence, Hall was back for the suspended Corr, Lloydy had a couple a touches and wasn’t his usual self, Weitering tagged Cogs, all day who got away at time with his speed, while Tuohy had a solid performance with 19 touches. The visitors forward were solid all day, Brads with 20 disposals, Lobb kicking a goal and rotated in ruck and Butler laid some nice tackles. The centre square was all Bulls, Parker had a massive Q2 and overall, 28 disposals, HUGH McCluggage goaled, 34 touches and cherry picked all day. Newcombe picked up 24 touches plus a goal to boot. Knevitt did well jumping in for a not ready Shiel after he rolled his ankle in last week’s game. At least the Bont had 30 possessions to force his way around, Isaac Smith kicked the first goal of the day and was solid up to having a head clash that knocked him about a bit. Corn Boy Cripps had 26 possessions however umpire descent costed penalties. Jarrod Flavoured Berry run off the wing. Again, the Bulls had the chop on in the ruck with Nank busting out 16 hit outs with some nice work at ground level. Up against McLean who did well but then had to cover for Mad Jack. Up forward for the home side AstroNaught started deep in the forward line, bagged 1, Errol was tagged by Maynard with his solid work around the turf. Tomahawk slotted 3 for the day but it wasn’t enough as Mad Jack sat on the ground like a steaming pile of shit. So, the visitors Jayden H went to the centre and Bowey tripped over the pile of shit and injured his calf to then had to be subbed out. Brayshaw held his own and even covered for Bowey. Off the bench, Young ran with Sholl each time he came on to the limit the fresh legs, Zorko was not so Magnificent today as Whitfield put the nail in the coffin of the Barracuda’s day. A disappointment for the home side, looking tired and feeling sore. The Bulls @tyze1 midfield dominated and made short work of their opposition to take the 4 points in a well-deserved win. BOG – Parker (SFB), McCluggage (SFB) & Newcombe (SFB)
The Buffaloes welcomed the visiting Vikings anticipating a high quality affair and noone in the crowd was disappointed. Chad Warner (137) was inspired, Bailey Scott (130) enjoyed the freedom from the stain that had taken a break from his club and Libba (126) continued a resurgent season. Zac Merrett (162) showed he was ready to match it with his opponents this week while simultaneously dragging along Dom Sheed (125) Jordan Ridley (122) and Bailey Smith (121) to have all areas of the ground covered. But as the faint mist settled that the Vikings had tried to smuggle into the country for a failed pre-game routinea and the excitement of seeing so may stars running around wore off, it was only then that anyone noticed Toby Greene (70) and Jack VIney (54). Although the visitors efforts at an overseas away game pre-match routine had been thwarted, the lingering mist that had made its way down into The Crater seemed to have cast a spell over the two ex-Vikings. Both players ran around looking like they were more interested in running a pillaging campaign than playing a football match. Indeed, as soon as the final siren blew, the two, still transfixed under the misguided notion they were still Vikings, headed straight to the Viking ship to see what campaign they could be a part of as the visitors set sail for home. Fortunately the fog had cleared before the oars were set in motion and the two did evenutually come to their senses. It is yet to be seen whether they will be selected for round 11 or punished for their disappointing relapse into old Viking ways. Thier efforts were to ultimately prove costly for the home team who could not quite muster enough extra performances to cover those failings and would eventually fall to a 17 point loss. A high quality game at Flying Fish Cove Park sees the visitors in control at 21/30th time: CIS - 886/10 (88.6) AA - 1106/11 (100.5) @insider
Early in the last quarter at The Sandpit, and @Batfink ’s visiting Prairie Dogs (894/12/75], have mauled an undermanned Sandgropers (621/10/62), to take a commanding 273 point lead. Little chance of a way back in here, bring on the MSD! Go Sandgropers!
Prelimary scores are in, and @Batfink ’s P-Dogs (1149/15/77) have scraped in for the win by 40 points, against the Sandgropers (1109/13/ 85). Late in, Xavier O’Neill (52), would have made all the difference for the home side chasing elusive wins, had he been available at the time of teams being named. Full match report to follow. A couple of weeks of rest to come, whilst the recruiting teams take over club operations, in anticipation of the upcoming MSD. Go Sandgropers!!!
Final scores from Huskies vs Whalers. The Whalers best round in a while, but it appears the Huskies just got the job done.

Bunyips 1228 def by Bulls 1280 The Bunyips enjoyed another home game and were hoping to get a win against their rivals from Staghorn Flat. It was a tight, hard fought contest against a very experienced team. O'Brien (124) continued his dominance in the middle just pipping big Nank (119) and scoring another key point for the 2023 Big Tap award. The forwards for the Bunyips again failed to fire with Veteran Jayden Hunt (126) winding back the clock and scoring all 3 points for the BOG. Dylan Shiel went walk about prior to the game and could not be found and Noah Long was thrown in the guts and looked as lost as a foreign coach in Pattaya at 5am. Overall a close contest with no great surprises anywhere on the park. BOG - Hunt - 3 ROB - 2 Houston - 1 O'Brien - Big Tap
