Auction rules: 1. All players or picks to be auctioned should be listed with a closing day/time. 2. All players or picks being auctioned cannot be pulled before that day/time. 3. No asset being auctioned should be the subject of private trade negotiations nor used as part of a bid in another auction, until the auction of the asset has reached it's conclusion/closing time, with or without a sale. 4. Stating a reserve, or a preferred return type for the auctioned asset is voluntary. 5. The reserve is not reached on any asset until the seller says so. 6. Once a reserve has been reached the seller has the option to adjust the auction length, but to no less than 48 hours, or the end of the trade period, whichever is the lesser. 7. As soon as practical after receiving multiple bids on an asset the seller should indicate whom is in front, any reasoning is optional. 8. All auctions are final and irreversible unless via subsequent mutually agreed trade. 9. Once a bid is tabled the bid is live until rejected OR deemed beaten by the person conducting the auction, it cannot be materially altered once tabled. 10. No bid can be conditional on outcomes not directly related to the auction at hand.
I’m going to auction Cam Guthrie. Auction closes at midday AEST on 9th June. He’s 30 years old now, and currently injured but has been in ripping form the past few years. He certainly still has it in him to help any team vying for ORFFA finals! He averaged 100+ for the past three seasons. This year, 3 of his 6 games produced scores 90+, including 98 in his most recent game in which he was subbed off due to injury. He injured his toe joint in that round-6 game. He has recently joined full training, and last week coach Scott said he “is close” to a return. In return, I’m looking for players younger than 25, and/or draft picks.
Since starting this auction, we’ve realised the injury is worse than we thought and we’ve decided just a couple hours ago to send Cam off for surgery and he’ll likely be out for the rest of the season. We cannot in good conscience even accept a packet of BBQ shapes for him anymore, given that he is not the same player that he was at the time of the bid. Given the circumstances, am I allowed to pull the auction early?
ok, thanks. I will cancel this auction for Cam Guthrie due to the changing circumstances of his injury status, but I am still open to receiving private offers if anyone is keen.
The Warriors are placing for auction budding Hawks superstar Cam McKenzie. http://tooserious.net/forum/player_career.php?id=7185&pcid=67600&name=Cam Mackenzie The auctioned item may appeal to ORFFA side/s focussed on 2024 onwards. The auction will be open until 9pm (Melb time) Wednesday 7th June. Please note that the require bidding currency is at least 2 assets from - FIT player/s playing in the AFL all non bye weeks and averaging 70 plus in 2023 (any age) – at least one must be included in the bid - 2023 MSD pick/s inside the first 3 rounds For the sake of clarity competing bids of the same number of players will be compared based largely on combined 2023 averages of the player/s. Bid away folks !!
Given I had stated that I was after MSD picks as part of a valid bid to be fair to other potential bidders I will also have to rule this one out, even though it could be the Dragons dearly. Due to lack of a 2023 MSD pick inside the first 3 rounds Worpel with 2024 PSD 4th rounder does not meet the terms set in the auction post - therefore reserve not met.
This bid meets the structure set out in the listing and meets reserve (barely) - thanks @That KI Guy - hopefully the bidding picks up in the remaining 48 hours of the auction towards the expected value for a top 10 PSD selection.
@churchboy @Jen @JC @graeme @bama quicker to tag you than to pm you please note the above auction and closing date if it interests you
Sorry, I misunderstood. How about Andrew Phillips (played 10 of 12 games, including last weekend) and my 2nd round MSD pick?
Through Round 11, Andrews average over 9 games was 53. The auction is asking for at least ONE player averaging over 70. Therefore the bid does not meet the structural requirement. Hypothetically even if Phillips was averaging 70ish the MSD pick (please provide a pick number so I don't have to check it) is not sufficiently higher to go ahead of the current lead bid @anthak given it is public auction I won't be as direct as if this was a negotiation via pm but can all bidders please recognise as caretaker rather than a full time coach I would like to be assessing genuine offers only from this point forward (ie ones which you would rate as being of equal or better value than the lead bid were you the auctioneer, if you were holding Mackenzie or Worpel would you trade them for Phillips or at least strongly consider it ?, if not don't offer Phillips by himself). In doing so these are very likely to be meeting the stated requirements and my responses can be short and to the point - ie yes/new leader, no/does not top the current lead bid. Cheers
Personally, I felt it was a better bid, but it’s subjective. Rucks are worth more than mids imo, and the draft pick was a lot better. It was pick 24, compared to the current lead bid including pick 39. That’s the best I’m willing to offer, so I’m out of this auction now. Good luck
At the risk of falling just under the stipulated average, the Spelunkers will throw in Jarrod Berry (69 average... was 70 until the weekend lol), and MSD Round 3 and MSD Round 4
I’m not sure if you read the auction post it’s not clear but it seems TTH isn’t counting bye rounds anyway. He chose to disregard Phillips’ round 12 score, so it’s fair to do the same for Berry
