Hi folks, Sorry real life got in the way. here we go Now that we have decided the disperal draft will occur before the PSD, we need to decide the number of rounds. The next (and I think last) vote will be on the draft order mechanism... more to come on that in another thread after this vote. Background: There are 55 players in total for consideration in the dispersal draft, not including delistments and retirees (of which there are a few) That means we can have, with some common sense being applied, 1 or 2 rounds of dispersal drafting. I have made the following assumptions, that I don't plan to take to a vote, so please bear these in mind with regard to the dispersal draft vote: Minimum delists are remaining at 6... so every franchise has 6 picks, these can be dispersal or PSD The default assumption is that this draft gets treated like any other draft, regardless of the fact that the PSD will kick off very shortly after it. This means: Part 2. In Draft 5.5 The In Draft definition is as per 4.7 above 5.6 Any trades involving players or picks in the current draft must contain an equal quantity of assets from both parties, picks in upcoming drafts are not relevant to this statement and can be traded freely 5.7 During the In Draft Period you can only trade draft picks in that current draft and the two immediately following 5.8 Only live picks taken into the draft can be traded 5.9 Completed trades to be posted in the thread by that name 5.10 Any trades involving current draft picks must also be posted in the current draft discussion thread for immediate review 5.11 During the draft trades are passed by one of either; 6 non participating coach’s approval, or 6 active hours between 8am and 11pm without any stated objection. Objections to be dealt with by the Trade Manager, unless he is involved/unavailable than it will be the commish. One time only rules: There will be one new rule just for the dispersal draft, and that is: Dispersal draft picks can be passed in preference to an extra PSD pick (so you can pass your dispersal round picks to have another additional pick allocated at the end of the PSD) So with all of that in mind, please let me know how many rounds you would like the dispersal draft to be by voting above. FIrst past the post with this one again (9 votes) Please let me know with a thumbs up when you have voted, saves me having to chase people Birdsville Battlers @JC - Voted Charlie's Opening Spelunkers @Bandit - Voted Cradle Mountain Devils @dmandrews - Voted Dunsborough Dung Beetles @CursingFijian - Voted Gariwerd Cockatoos @anthak - Voted Gundagai Grasshoppers @snoz - Voted Iron Knob Codpieces @churchboy - Voted Larrikin Lagoon Lefties @That KI Guy - Voted Lovely Banks Lilacs @Jen - Voted Marble Bar Misfits @Len - Voted Mt Beauty Uglies @bama - Voted Nareewillock Nuffers @chris88 - Voted Venus Bay Vultures @Fitzy - Voted Wagga Wagga Wombats @Lenny120 Waikikamoocow Incorrigibles @graeme - Voted Wineglass Bay Packers @Tracey - Voted
Yeah not a fan... sort of says that the least persons vote is redundant... and in this case, it isn't
The last vote might not be relevant. It will either decide the result or if we end up in a draw, then its 50-50 which option we go with anyway so we might get the same result regardless of their vote. Btw, at the time of my suggestion I had no idea which way the next voter would vote. I was just thinking to save time in case one of the remaining two were unable to vote or get in contact for a while.
Just for clarity. If it's a 1 round draft then the picks in the second round can be used on players from the dispersal OR draftees, but also be traded. If it's a 2 round dispersal the picks in the first two rounds cannot be traded, and cannot be used on draftees. Just making sure people are aware of this as the logic in voting escapes, but then I am old an shit is starting to do that.
Disagree with your interpretation of the dispersal draft @Len . From the OP: "One time only rules: There will be one new rule just for the dispersal draft, and that is: Dispersal draft picks can be passed in preference to an extra PSD pick (so you can pass your dispersal round picks to have another additional pick allocated at the end of the PSD)" IMO this should be interpreted as in the Dispersal Draft only those on the chooks and warriors lists can be drafted. If you choose to pass you move to the fifth round of the PSD if you pass round one of the Dispersal draft, and sixth round of the PSD if you pass round two of the Dispersal Draft. A binding ruling from the Commish, accompanied by the ability to change votes, would be helpful.
I was positioning it the way @graeme mentioned. the dispersal draft can only involve drafting players from the chooks and the warriors. after the end of the dispersal draft (regardless of one round or two), any remaining players from the chooks and warriors are added to the total player pool along with the draftees, delisted players and free agents picks in the dispersal can be passed, and you get an extra pick at the end of the PSD trading of picks is the same as a normal draft (current plus next two) so for dispersal you can trade a dispersal pick for another dispersal pick, a PSD pick or an MSD pick hope that clarifies… and if it causes people to want to change their vote then let me know and I’ll open it up
Since we're doing a separate dispersal draft, I'd have preferred it to operate as outlined by @Len. But it is what it is I guess.
I had previously stated that I thought we should not be able to trade dispersal draft picks. But Im happy to go with it based on the OP which was posted before the vote.
