With one session to go at The Stadium, the visiting Prospectors have tonned up 4 times with Worrell (100) and N W-M (115) down back, keeping Bueng Kan's fwds to their lowest score for the year, while old boy Wines(116) in the middle and Barrass (121) off the bench, have done everything required of them. And then there's Waterman (92) kicking snags from everywhere.
CP score 9/833 and still Serong Aish Miller Sicily to come, and not to forget the BIG O......I didn't forget Ginnivan, I just don't rate him in anything he does......on or off the field.;)

It's all over, red rover at The Stadium and Coolgardie have run away with this match for a comfortable win, 1426-1082...
The final period was a complete domination by the visitors with Serong (137) leading the way from Sicily (106) complete with dislocated shoulder and all, and McInerny (97) Miller (93) and Aish (81) seemingly just tagging along for the ride.

    BOG:
    3: Serong CP 137
    2: Wines CP 116
    1: N W-Milera CP 115

    BIG TAP:
Big O CP 97 def Miller BKR 95

    Round 8 Match Report

Hughenden Prairie Dogs 1,047 defeat Exmouth Anglers 682

Hughenden played at their consistent best??? to beat an undermanned Exmouth side at the Dino Dome in a game that lacked enthusiasm from players and supporters alike.

The only highlight’s from the game for the P Dogs was the return to form of Oliver (141) and support from Barrass(121), Ward (98) and Langford (98) with the Anglers highlights limited to Bergman (119), Rowbottom (115) and Hinge (93). The Anglers were always going to find the going tough with only 10 players able to make the journey while the P Dogs were able to find 15 players, although 8 of them will need to improve or risk being delisted by year end.

The win sees Hughenden rise to 16th and Exmouth fall to 17th both only 1 win in front of the Cormorants who are playing far better than their 18th position shows.

    BAFFU Awards
    3 Oliver HPD
    2 Barrass HPD
    1 Bergman EM

    BigTap – Cox (37) over JVR (12)

    The Barracuda's finish on 1,370/15 91.3 defeating the Cormorants on 1,219/15 81.3

Back on home turf the home feeling confident after leaving Staghorn Flat, the visitors on the other hand have not had a good start, languishing at the bottom of the table.

In defence, McGovern was outstanding with 16 touches using his body well, Lloydy started on the wing and had 19 touches, Weitering & Young teamed up and keep their opponents busy all day. The visitors young brigade of forwards put up a fight for as long as they could lead by Fogarty, with Rachele in toe. Harley and Buku were out gunned this week.

Grundy rose to the occasion with plenty of hit outs taking out Meek who did an all mighty job to keep pace.

The Bont spent plenty of time up forward, kicking 2 goals when it matter, Corn Boy Cripps stepped down and let the Jarrod Flavor Berry do the work as he had the hot hand. Oh, Errol had plenty of the ball including 23 kicks. The visitors work rate escalated with Wardlaw and MJ cutting it up on the outside lines with 22 & 25 possessions. Young Jhye Clark slotted a nice dribble kick though the big white sticks and Day started well but got lost somewhere in the middle.

Up forward Tomahawk looked like he’s stayed on 1 year too long, while the AstroNaught started deep, Mclean pinch hit in the ruck and the Magnificent Zork was on fire with his run and carry having 40 touches from the backline all the way up the flank. The young Sam De Koning lead the back-line for the visitors with shut down moves, assisted by Weddle with some nice kicking. Florent tried stopping Zorko but was left stranded each time while Cincotta did a job on Tomahawk.

Off the bench, the home team had Guthrie and Tuohy who came on later in the match to provide some run. While the visitors went with Big man Sean Darcy who came off second best in a contest and sat out the last quarter were as Rioli gave it to each opponent that ran around.

At three quarter time it was all evens, the last quarter, the Premiership quarter would separate the boys from the men and the more mature team took advantage and pushed home heavy.

For the home team to take the 4 points in the end was a relief after the young visitors really put in a big effort. This keeps them in touch with the top 4. For @ron swanson the visitors have made head way with a much better playing style this week and put in a strong performance even though it was another loss they can hold their heads high.

BOG – The Magnificent Zorko (GEB), Grundy (GEB) & The Bont (GEB)

    Round 8
Cow Bay 1,107 def by Nuytsland 1,396

In a high-stakes showdown, the Crocs clashed with the Vikings at the Crocs home ground - The Lagoon. Despite displaying commendable effort (mostly), the Crocs succumbed to the Vikings going down by 289 points.

    Top Performers:
    Nic Newman,
Nuytsland, 148 points. Newman delivered an standout defensive performance, anchoring the defensive 4. His intercepting was a hallmark of the weekend and was instrumental in stifling the Crocs' offensive efforts.
Dylan Moore, Cow Bay, 140 points. Moore was the standout performer for the Crocs having shrugged off glandular fever from earlier in the year and showcased his playmaking skills in the forward line. He posed a constant threat to the Vikings' defense and gave the home crowd something to cheer about.
Tim English, Nuytsland, 135 points. English dominated the ruck battle, providing crucial midfield support and generating scoring opportunities for his team. Then again, he was matched up against a forward/ruck from one of the worst AFL teams.

In the end the Vikings emerged victorious and securing a well-deserved win over the Crocs. While the Crocs displayed an ok effort, the coach was disheartened by the low score and an end of the 7 game winning streak.

Full Time at Eden and the winning streak stops at 3 whilst the Huskies have gone 50/50 in the past 8 games.
It was Eden 1045 vs Horsham 1146 in a close game between 2 sides improving from last year. Unfortunately, McCartin and Williams came off injured but the good thing is we now have depth to cover that. The Huskies had the top scorers with Flanders, Andrews (it seemed like a good idea at the time to trade him) and Holmes all getting 110+. Duursma got 111 but also got injured. Briggs won in the ruck though. Both sides have winnable games this week against 2-6 teams and should continue to be in the mix for finals.
    BAFFU: Flanders 128, Andrews 114, Holmes 113
Giant Tap: Briggs 88 def Witts 62

In a very un-inspiring game where both teams are struggling, Bueng Kan leads Eden 7/501 - 7/417 and I can't report any more than that.
