ORFFA Round 5 - Chocolate Football Round – Review
Apologies for the tripe below. A bit of talk in the chat this week about ‘spuds and duds’ and ‘overs and unders’, so let’s take a look at this week’s games from that point of view but using ‘studs’ (90+) and ‘duds’ (50 or less) instead.

Junee Jaguars 1182 def by Cradle Mountain Devils 1304
The Jags had 4 players over 90 – including 3 over 140 – but this was more than offset by the 5 that didn’t get to 50. On the flip side, the Devils consistency saw them home with 9 players scoring 90 or better and just the 2 failing to make 50.

    Jags
Studs: 4 – Taranto, Whitfield, Flynn, Kelly
Duds: 5 – Briggs, Fisher, Ward, Byrnes, Cadman
    Devils
Studs: 9 – Vlastuin, McDonald, Mannagh, Hopper + five more in the 90s
    Duds: 2 – Greene, Steele

Dunsborough Dung Beetles 1145 def Iron Knob Codpieces 1053
Only 13.5 for the Beetles with both Finlayson and Richards in the fwd were no shows and only Hoskin-Elliott available to cover - plus half of Mac Andrew in the ruck. Nonetheless, that was enough against a Cods line up that copped a couple of sub 20s.

    Dung Beetles
Studs: 4 – Freijah, Roberts, Green, Atkins
    Duds: 1 – Andrew
    Codpieces
Studs: 3 – Martin, Witts, Macrae
Duds: 4 – El-Hawli, Hanily, Reid, de Goey

Gariwerd Cockatoos 1119 def Wagga Wagga Wombats 1061
Playing one short each and with two duds a piece – did you two pre-arrange something here? - the margin here is probably summed up by the 3 extra Cockies that made it past 90.

    Cockatoos
Studs: 6 – Farrell, Bowey Miller, Draper, Crouch, Wicks
    Duds: 2 – Jiath, King
    Wombats
Studs: 3 – Libba, Rozee, Hewett
    Duds: 2 – Bergman, Setterfield

Waikickamoocow Incorrigibles 1088 def Venus Bay Vultures 992
Did someone forget to tell a few Vultures when the game was? 15 v 12 in the end ensures the Cows get it done. Four studs a piece but even the Cows couple of duds were a help against 3 donuts.

    Cows
    Studs: 4 – Rivers, Hinge, O’Brien, Fletcher
    Duds: 2 – Bailey, Treacy
    Vultures
Studs: 4 – Pickett, NWM, Danger, Howe
    Duds: 0 – well….3 donuts

Mount Beauty Uglies 1220 def by Nareewillock Nuffers 1235
Nuffers get it done in a tight one over the Uglies. Possibly a touch lucky with Darcy subbed out for the Uglies in the opening quarter. That’s footy though and there are no guarantees. 7 studs is a good effort though.

    Uglies
Studs: 5 – Butters, Gawn, Viney, Walsh, Petracca
Duds: 4 – Darcy, Fogarty, Boak, Rioli
    Nuffers
Studs: 7 – Idun, Rowell, Richards, Serong + three more in the 90s
Duds: 4 – Ryan, Brown, Jones, Bedford

Charlies Opening Spelunkers 1411 def Gundagai Grasshoppers 1346
Confirmed - Bandit whines about fk all. Imagine complaining after posting 1400 - spare me. Just shit luck of the draw for Snoz and the Hoppers this week given their score would have beaten everyone else.

    Spelunkers

Studs: 7 – Daicos, Bont, Brayshaw, Meek, Merrett, Waterman, Blakey
    Duds: 1 – Ashcroft
    Hoppers
Studs: 5 – Newcombe, Dawson, Neale, Curnow, Oliver
    Duds: 1 – Saad

Lovely Banks Lilacs 1111 def Birdsville Battlers 1051
Even with 14.5, the Lilacs were too good for a Battlers team that carried the most duds for the round, with 6 listed, but I really should add the coach/list manager as well and make it 7.

    Lilacs
Studs: 5 – Amon, Wilkie, Bolton, McLean, Heeney
Duds: 5 – Trainor, Moore, Jones, Larkey, Wood
    Battlers
Studs: 5 – Kennedy, Cerra, Rowbottom, TDK. Andrews,
Duds: 6 – Gross, Cleary, Moore, Lobb, Flanders, Humphrey

Wineglass Bay Packers 1297 def Larrikin Lagoon Lefties 1084
13 v 15? No worries at all for the Packers who easily accounted for a full complement of Lefties. Nine Packers went past 90 and just the one failed to make 50, while the Lefties back line was.... underwhelming.

    Packers
Studs: 9 – Hewett, Taylor, Daicos, Callaghan, Noble, Sanders, Ash + two more in the 90s
    Duds: 1 – Collins (2 donuts I guess)
    Lefties
Studs: 3 – Xerri, SPP, Anderson
Duds: 4 – Perryman, Sinn, Budarick, Bowes

Good luck to all this week.

    Great work mate, thanks.
Makes sense that most games were won by the team with more studs and/or less duds/donuts.
Big games from the two teams with 9 studs each!

Also, how are the Wombats @Lenny120
Currently a winning record and sitting in the top-8, but just 92% for & against percentage. The only teams with a worse percentage are the 3 winless teams.

We had a good tussle this week and I was lucky to get up. Im very surprised to also have a winning record at 3-2!

oh, also, @JC I didnt play one short. Ethan Read actually played and scored zero, so he was another dud for me!

    @anthak
A pity that the Ethan Read playing zero wasn’t notified to the “powers that be” prior to the round rollover as a playing zero or negative score often activated the emergency score such as for the Shags vs Wedge Island game in the triple F, I will adjust Wedge Islands score by 55 points for the purposes of the largest largest of victory and the lowest aggregate in that league.

that's not tripe, that's cold hard facts... Pauline Hanson and Clive Palmer could do with some of your astuteness

Spelunkers trying to fly under the radar, but The Bont screwed that up... what a first game back!

I did notice that in the FFF but didnt mention it because it didnt effect the result of the game, but you're right, the aggregate score of 1758 is super low and worth recording correctly!
