Got a bit of luck with Taranto as a late withdrawal meaning Trainor got to start the game afterall

1 game to go and the margin has narrowed…

    Jan Juc - 759/13/58.4
    Heard Island - 817/13/62.8

In the final game, the Ducks have Mitch Owens and an out of position Angus Hastie; and the Shags have Judd McVee and Kade Chandler.

The Stk Melb game is already underway of course and it’s looking like the Shags will hold on for the win!

In the battle for top spot. A terrible affair is taking place with many subs, injuries and currently 8 sub 41 scores (4 each).
But boozers will prevail to secure top spot (after being close to last just 2 years ago) and keep the winning streak alive.

The 29ers have managed a 1305 to 1146 victory on the road against the Atoms @Brett Sanders after overcoming a first minute knockout to out of position ruck replacement Hayden McLean, who scored 50% of zero, which is still zero.

Max Holmes from the Atoms scored 130 which secured 4 votes in the Dangerfield Medal and he moves to 35 votes which should be enough for a top 6 finish.

Black Swamp will be on the road next week to take on the 6th placed Virgins @YAD69, meanwhile results elsewhere will decide which of the Triple F's Family Duo has qualified for the final playoff spot of season 2025 and also how the top 5 has fallen.

The Shags prevail, and the Wooden Spoon goes to Jan Juc Ducks, with the final score:
    Jan Juc - 815/15/54.3
    Heard Island - 959/15/63.9

Shame I couldn't really make a game of it but congrats on the win never the less! Hopefully with some more talent in over the offseason we'll be primed for some big wins in 2026!

Finals bound after a solid H&A campaign. Hoping two key assets are available for selection next week in Caldwell and Settersfield. Otherwise feeling confident heading into the finals series.

The Beard (Noahs) finished with a 3 vote effort in Round 16 to put an exclamation mark on his 2025 (second) Dangerfield medal win.

"Cherry" Xerri (29ers) remained on 39 votes due to suspension while Ed Richards (Ducks) stormed home with 4 votes to improve from 5th to 3rd place on 36 votes.

Max Holmes (Atoms) finished with 4 votes and equal 4th place on 35 tied with the rampaging Brodie Grundy (Boozers) with another BOG effort.

The sixth and last place on the 2025 leaderboard was Matt Rowell (Magpies) with 3 votes to finish on 34 votes.

Congrats to the above half dozen players on their brilliant individual seasons.Three rucks in the top 6 is a first and a number of big name AFL players (eg Nick Daicos and NWM) have failed to make the top 10 despite stellar SC seasons

The unlucky duo of Libba (Noahs) and Dunkley (Atoms) finished on 33 votes after each failed failing to register a vote in the final round to fall from equal 3rd to equal 7th and in truth paid the price of being second in line behind their team-mates in Gawn and Holmes respectively. Also kudos to the Bont who has fallen only 3 votes short of the top 6 despite missing the opening 5 games of the season.

The final home and away round of 2025 saw the Magpies seal an 8th consecutive win to jump into the top 4 for the first time since Round 1 while the Woylies made way to finish 5th after sitting 2nd and 6 points scored off outright 1st after round 12.

Elsewhere Drouin's misery continued with their 5th successive loss to end the 2025 campaign. while Black Swamp and Port Lincoln's wins combined with Wedge Island's loss saw them finish 2 games clear of the 9th ranked White Pointers side.

In the remaining games the Boozers, Noahs and Virgins all managed wins to secure home finals in week 1 while the Bucks dispatched the Fugs and the Shags held on for a comfortable head to head win (their second in the final 6 games) to hand the 2025 wooden spoon to the Ducks.

Congrats to the 2025 ORFFF finalists and thanks to all of the non-finalists for their efforts as you enjoy a deserved offseason break.

Last but by no means least a particular mention and well done goes to Port Lincoln @MrsBear who at the tenth time of asking have qualified for the ORFFF finals. The Power's young and patiently collected core of emerging stars will be sure to give a good account of themselves in the August pressure cooker even if their peak years are likely to commence in another 1 or 2 seasons.
