The Magpies and Power join 6 returning finalists for the 2025 ORFFF Finals series

    This weeks matches are
QF1 - Mt Thirsty Boozers (14-2 and 1st, 8-4 finals record) vs The Stony Ponys (12-4 and 4th, 8-5 finals record)

    - 1st ever finals clash, clashed in Rounds 3 (TSP 1355 def MTB 1264, Syd & Coll byes) and 16 (MTB 1230 def TSP 1167)
    - The Boozers won the minor premiership and hold a 9 game unbeaten streak including a victory at the same ground in the final week of the 2025 home and away season. The Ponys will match the Boozers for experience and will look to tweak their tactics to achieve a smash and grab victory on the road and earn a week off.

QF2 - Neptune Island Noahs (12-4 and 2nd, 19-6 finals record) vs Sherwood Magpies (12-4 and 3rd, 1-1 finals record)
    - 1st ever finals clash, clashed in Round 4 (SWM 1287 lost to NIN 1383, Ess and Haw byes)
    - it isn't often that the Noahs take on a new finals opponent but they do this week in a clash of experince (the Noahs) vs youth (the Magpies)
    - after back to back losses in rounds 14 and 15 the Noahs returned to form last week but will be tested by a Magpies outfit who have recorded 8 wins on the trot

EF1 - Walpole Woylies (11-5 and 5th, 11-8 finals record) vs Port Lincoln Power (9-7 and 8th, playing 1st finals game)
    - 1st ever finals clash, clashed in Round 4 (WPW 1155 lost to PLP 1263, Ess and Haw byes)
    - another match hosted by an experienced home side against an inexperienced visiting lineup
    - after bright starts both teams have limped towards the finals, however now they are here, their seasons start again with this week's cut-throat encounter

    EF2 - Useless Loop Virgins (11-5 and 6th, 6-9 finals record) vs 29ers (9-7 and 7th, 2-4 finals record)
    - 2nd ever finals clash (29ers 1255 def by ULV 1452 in 2016 SF), clashed in Round 5 (ULV 1201 def 29ers 1160)
    - after bye and injury ridden starts to the season both teams have built nicely and secured big scalps in the final month of the regular season having each won 4 of their last 5
    - the match promises to be a no holds barred affair as each team brings a rugged approach to a game where only one team will be moving on to week 2 action.

A reminder that full lockout applies on Friday night (post Sunday teams), Triple F teams can be loaded without a fixture (to be loaded Wed night).

OP to be updated later in the week.

Boozers in a world of trouble from here.
Ridley Buckley silvagni and McGovern all out in defence. And with the loss of touk miller and struggles all year with the forward line, gonna be a hard task to continue this winning streak.

Every team has a decent player out at this time of the season @leematty1 (Miller) but I am not sure how losing your D5-D8 is a massive loss when those replacing them on the IC have averages in the low 70's.

Haha they aren’t my D5-8 when I was playing them in my mids.

I only have 4 playing defs on the assumption that Zorko plays. That’s why I’m in trouble. And with 12+ players out, not a good spot to be in come the finals when I don’t have enough players to even have 4 playing emergencies. Not much room for error now

18 is the same as the 29ers are likely to field, a lot of squads struggle to roll out a full 15, welcome to the reality that the rest of us deal with most of the time

Yeah maybe but not the top teams. Think the other top 4 teams all had 23-24 playing. So Boozers definitely up against it against the top 4.
