"ORFFU Semi-Finals: Fresh Faces, Funnier Exits"

Refreshing to see some new faces in the ORFFU semi-finals… though let’s be honest, most of them only made it here because a few big names forgot how to coach.
Blanchetown Bunyips 1422 def King Island Monarchs 1345 – Bunyips stole the crown and left the Monarchs ruling over rubble.
Serengeti Buffalos 1397 def Korumburra Blowflys 1357 – Buffalos swatted the Blowflys before they could even land on the scoreboard.
Coolgardie Prospectors 1421 def Pakenham Parasites 1264 – Prospectors struck paydirt while the Parasites starved.
Staghorn Flat Bulls 1440 def Ararat Armadillos 1319 – Bulls didn’t just break through the armour, they turned it into a trophy rack.

Cheers mate. Proud of the boys for putting up a good fight but your leaders stood up when they needed to. Gawn v Flynn was always going to be pivotal. Good luck for remainder of finals.

After another regular season had come and gone the home town Buffaloes as well as their Korumburra counterparts arrived down in The Crater confident that their season wouldn't be ending here.
    @Mick

Regardless of the outcome of this match, it was made clear from the start that someone didn't want Jeremy Howe's (0) season to be continuing and he was knocked out as quickly the game had begun in a major blow for the visitors. Perhaps rattled by seeing a fellow tatt covered player, perhaps because he's just not that great, Jamie Elliott (10) fell apart after the incident and gave hope to the Blowflys that maybe they could overcome the early drama.

Buoyed by that hope, Josh Dunkley (167) took full advantage of Lachie Neale missing from this matchup and absolutely dominated the midfield. The likes of Mannagh (109) and Shannon Neale (95) were feasting on dominant performances and Tim Kelly (102) even turned back the clock to put in a vintage performance.

It was going to take an almighty response from The Buff and things were looking positive with Bailey Smith (141) doing his best to match the efforts of Dunkley and Finn Callaghan (137) trying to convince the coach he didn't make a mistake in selecting him over Sam Darcy. Toby Greene (126) was inspired by Tim Kelly's veteran performance as he returned from a week off and Aaron Cadman (102) put on an incredible display to fill in for the 'gone fishing' Dangerfield.

With so many impressive performances across the park on both sides, this was destined to go down to the wire. Late in the contest Tim Kelly was doing his best to will the Blowflys across the line and he had them well on track. That was until James Peatling (35) decided he couldn't keep up with the pace of the contest and couldn't finish it out as he joined teammate Howe in the injury room. That compared to the efforts of Buffalo Zac Merrett (123) who played out the final quarter with a broken hand to make sure his side would come off victorious was the difference in the end and Serengeti were able to triumph with an 82 point win.

    Final Scores
    Serengeti 1397 def Korumburra 1315

Barring Jayden Short scoring 300 points, this game is over, and Staghorn Flat will be in the 2025 Grand Final @tyze1

Unless of course one of the Bulls scores minus 100 points! That'll change everything...

In case you were wondering, the Bunyips have well and truly made a mess of the Buffaloes and put on a display of strong form at the right time of year. They’ve run out 196 point winners 1423 - 1227.

Best of luck @martyg in the big one, it’s been a truly impressive season.

Just message me mate! Will/can always explain whats happening. That goes for anyone.

    Anyway, site is now rolled.

Supercoach decided to change their file as they have launched a "Finals" competition, so that fucked with the scrapes and how its all coded, then it got cranky because all afl fantasy and dream team was loaded twice as a result. I had to call in reinforcements of the big wale, who sorted it in quick time as he's the man, and now we're here... all done.

also i hope you both lose because im a sore loser :p

but really, great to see a Bunyip or Flat Bull (hehehe) premiership! Congrats gents

    Thanks mate, appreciate the work.
Sounds like a bit of a saga.

I've been trying to work out for years where Staghorn is, and what a Flat Bull is, but I keep coming up unsuccessful.
I've got to throw my support behind the Flat Bulls. That way I can claim that I got bundled out by the best team, so Coolgardie are (pseudo) the second best team in the league this year (that's how it works, right?)

Blanchetown Bunyips 1429 def Buffalos 1230

The study went in and the boys showed up!! The start was a bit rocky with a few ordinary performances from Freijah, Watson, King and Hardick for the home side but it was the big boys that all stood up when it counted! Gawn (145) defeated English (132) in the ruck, whilst LDU (157), Rowell (117), Dale (128) and Keays (112) all raised their bat with some great scores. The long awaited return of Walsh (112) was well worth it off the bench and has returned to form at the pointy end of the season.
For the visitors it was Bailey Smith (131), Callaghan (134) and Viney (107) in the mids who tried their hardest to get the visitors home and into the GF. Unfortunately for the visitors too many players didnt show up when it counted with most of the side scoring well under their season average.

It was a great battle and one for the ages! The team is keeping a lid on it, whilst Blanchetown has well and truly lifted the lid on the excitement as we head into our 2nd ever GF and hope to take home the silverware after (possibly) the longest spell in the ORFFU. GET EXCITED fans!

    Bulls Prospectors Match review
In a surprise Prelim Final Match up it was the Prospectors who were choc full of confidence after rolling the Bulls by 185 earlier in the season. As a contest the game didn't reach any great heights however it was the Bulls consistency got them over the line against the Prospectors outfit who came up empty handed. Guns fired on both sides as 10 players saluted but with 6 sub 70 scores Coolgardie were always up against it. At the end of the day it was the Bulls running out comfortable winners 1354 to 1190 and propelling themselves into their first decider since our inaugural year of 2014...

    Early in the first @martyg
    BBU 169/2
    SFB 101/1

In a great sign for those that missed finals in 2025 both grand final teams have come from outside the 8 in 2024 to make the decider in 2025. (Bunyips 10th & Bulls 14th)
The Bunyips have been red hot all season and are the favorites with the bookies at 1.70 with the Bulls at 2.20.
Although the Bunyips only loss has come at the hands of the Bulls in Round 5 this season. This shapes as a cracking decider!

Part way through the second sees an intriguing battle, its the Bulls with the higher average and the Bunyips with the score on the board. One thing that is for sure this grand final will come down to the final game of the round with the Hawks Lions clash @martyg
