The two time reigning premiers the Neptune Noahs are lining up in their 8th ORFFF Grand Final, holding a 21-6 finals record, with 8 consecutive finals victories, and a 3-4 Grand Final record. Their challengers are the first first-time Grand Finalists since 2021, the young, brash and exciting Sherwood Magpies who are 3-2 all time in finals. @That KI Guy @Vicwood Have at it, best of luck to you both. Noting again that full lockout is the FIRST Friday game, so loop away on Thursday night with Bombers and Blues as you wish. (Please post your teams below as well as in TSleagues when it rolls over)
Just a question for confirmation. With the Bombers and the Suns double game week which scores will count.?
Bombers vs Suns is ignored for Supercoach and each of the TS leagues playing this week. All 18 teams only get the 1 game this round. Despite the AFL's insistence otherwise I have deemed the catchup game as Round 25 when filling in the updated TS Leagues fixture, although most accurately it is Opening Round (delayed game).
Noahs gearing up for a back to back tilt! Provisional GF squad Def - Clark, Lloyd, Amon, Maynard (Turner) Mid - Libba, Viney, Dawson, Powell (Keays) Ruck - Gawn Fwd - Warner, Kennedy, Moore, Neale (Wright) IC - Sweet, Dempsey (McKay) Best of luck @Vicwood
Updated Def - Clark, Lloyd, Amon, Maynard (Turner) Mid - Libba, Viney, Dawson, Powell (Johnson) Ruck - Gawn Fwd - Warner, Kennedy, Moore, Keays (McKay) IC - Sweet, Dempsey (wright)
Noahs playing safe and locking in a couple of mid 80 loops. Keays out for Neale to take McKay score. Sweet out for McDonald to take Wright score.
Grand Final Team DEF: Ash Mills Bowey Worrell (Bowes MID: Rowell Callaghan Mc Kercher Friejah (Hough) RK ; Briggs FWD : Darcy Fogerty Boak KPP ( O'Halloran) IC : Flynn Taylor ( Membrey) Good start from the Noahs with 2 loops in Play. Briggs will need a big effort against Marshall and i am hoping Fogerty shows up against the Roos.
Progress scores Noahs 905/10 (90) Clark, Amon, Libba, Kennedy, Moore to play Vs Magpies 790/9 (87) Ash, Callaghan, Briggs, Freijah, Darcy, Taylor to play Virtually anyone’s game here with both teams holding heavy hitters to slug it out on super Sunday. @Vicwood
Yes, going to go down to the last game. Hoping Taylor can be at his intercepting best today and Briggs puts in a good shift.
Bad return from Taylor, really wanted Bowes in the flex but after last week sub vest didn't want to risk it. Need a miracle now from Freijah and Darcy against Clark and Libba.
Alright this has gone right down to the wire. Not sure I’m entirely convinced on calling this without some scoring confirmation. Highly unofficial final scores Noahs 1333 Vs Magpies 1310
The Noahs abacus matches the score calculated in the round rollover. Which brings us to our congratulations for the Noahs on their (checks notes) 4th premiership and going BACK to BACK to BACK after being 1-4 in Grand Finals just 3 years ago. To the Magpies, well done on an amazing season and a great build in your 2 and a half seasons. Margins are tight at this time of year and I am sure that with a young squad and more savvy trading the Magpies will be poised to be a serial top 4 threat for the next few seasons. That closes an eventful and fun 2025 season and thanks again to everyone who contributed by playing and organising behind the scenes.
Well done @That KI Guy !! What a dynasty! And I echo TTH's comments @Vicwood you have done so well to build this team up in a short time!
Woohoo!!!! Noahs B2B2B!!!! Thanks @Vicwood for a cracker grand final match. A hard fought tussle right down to the last quarter of the last match of the round. We were sweating bullets being 170 points behind with Amon and Moore to play. Amon thankfully got the memo and pulled a rabbit out of the hat. Noahs GF best and fairest (the Big Jabber) 3 - Karl Amon (final quarter heroics) 2 - Max Gawn 1 - Jake Lloyd Many thanks to everyone involved for a highly competitive season and as always hats off to @TheTassieHawk for supplying arguably the best historical stats package of any dynasty league in the country.
