I believe 12hr limit should remain. Not everyone has access to the internet during their working hours.
Either way doesn't affect me as I retired in 2005 and have all the time in the world. My only concern is the 3-4 hr time difference I experience, but that's minor.
So if anyone is having trouble with the time limit and feel they can trust me with their selections, then I'm willing to act as their proxy if they feel the need.....Just hit me with a DM when the time is right.

Surely you can't expect people to be taking taking draft picks while they're working? Some might have no trouble doing that but do you think it should be an expectation that everyone does?

12 hour between picks for me please
I run a business and don’t have time during the day for any internet activity unfortunately
Although I’m generally pretty good with my picks I think…….I hopefully don’t hold the gang up to much.
When I know I’ll probs have a pick that day I’ll endeavour to find some internet to pop my pick in asap, but would like the knowledge knowing if I don’t I can get home from work that night and make my pick.

I don’t recall you ever holding anything up mate. Like you said, normally the good ‘uns either sneak some time in or give a pick or two to an unbiased proxy

Just ask gemini.google.com.......has all the answers.......most of them anyway....

For the 2026 season, the AFL Pre-Season Supplementary Selection Period (SSP) is scheduled to end on Friday, February 20, 2026.

Clubs have until this deadline to sign players to their remaining list spots or to replace players who have suffered long-term injuries during the summer.

I don't remember how long drafts take but should we wait until after this period before delisting is finalised and drafting starts?

Cool. Poll's currently at 12-4 for. I only made it so long because the first attempt didn't reach 9.

If you had have waited about half an hour....

I've made a couple of attempts to contact Damo over the summer, to no avail. I think its fair to assume that he won't be back. I do hope that he and his family are healthy and happy.

So we do need a new coach. I have contacted Len directly and told him that he should start preparing.
Is there anyone who objects to Len taking over Christmas Island?

Can we do it by simple vote:
    • Thumbs up - he's in
    • Thumbs down - nah

We take a week, sometimes as long as two weeks.

I was looking at this too. We kind of want the AFL team lists finalised before we start drafting, but also don't want to conflict with the official pre-season, to make it as even and fair for everyone. It would make it very tight if we started the draft on Saturday 21 February (day after SPP finalisation), and tried to get it complete by Wednesday 4 March (day before opening round).
Remembering that the pre-season matches are:
    • Sat 14 Feb to Sat 21 Feb (State of Origin and match sims)
    • Wed 25 Feb to Sun 1 March (Community Series matches)
Which completely clash with all of those possible dates.

Best bet is to just stick with starting on Friday 13 February, not stressing about the dates (or time limits too much), and living with the fact that the AFL must be out to screw us over with their scheduling and fixtures.
