We can start working through a fixture as we draw closer to knowing if everyone is in for the coming season. Question Jen and I have is about preferences for rounds to schedule ORFFA games for and rounds to avoid given the byes, Opening Round, etc. Assuming everyone is back in, and assuming we are looking at three weeks of finals this year, the easiest option might be: 15 games of home and away plus three finals (18 week season), with no ORFFA games in Opening Round Rounds 2, 3, 12, 14, 15, 16 We would play through Round 13 (two team bye round aka Nuffers will struggle to field a team round) but the drawback here would be that we would be playing Round 24 which we have tried to avoid in the past. Other option would be (and thanks to the ORFFF for the thought here) 14 games of home and away plus three finals (17 week season), with no ORFFA games in Opening Round Rounds 2, 3, 12, 14, 15, 16, 24 Again, we would play through Round 13 but not in Round 24. It also means we don't play every other team once, which is less than ideal. Either way, this set-up would probably peg our MSD draft and trade period for sometime between June 10 and June 29 (approx). I'll put a poll up top of this thread here and if we could discuss which way we want to go.
Thanks folks, good to hear your ideas. I think the first option of 15 rounds and a 3-week finals series is best. Always good to play everyone else each season.

Thank you! Do you mind also setting the lockout time for the first round? I believe that will allow us to enter teams for round 1, is that right?
Usually. Lockout is set for the ORFFF so if you can for the Shags but can’t for the Cockatoos that would most likely be the reason. It would be super handy to know now in case we have a site issue that needs attention.
hmmm, well it mustnt be that then, because I can pick my team in the FFF but not in the FA. What would be the difference between the two that causes this?
Thanks to @Jen for getting this organised, and thanks @Bandit for getting it up on the site. I'll try to get some themes going for each week's fixture, though time might be a bit shorter in 2026 than in previous years. I do have a couple of early themes to get things rolling though.
