Hi all, onto the subject of commissioner for next year Whilst the ORFFA does not take a huge amount of time, it is time that I do not have a lot of at the moment, so I am welcoming nominations, for Commissioner, as it is time for me to hand the reins over to someone else. I will not be running for Commissioner next season I appreciate that this goes out to a group of people who do not have a lot of time themselves... so if someone can't commit full time, but is happy to job share, I will consider that, but I really do think the place needs one pair of hands rather than two on the wheels personally So let me know if you want to take the keys and drive it like you stole it? If you want to discuss what's involved before committing, then hit me up in a message @JC, @dmandrews, @CursingFijian, @anthak, @snoz, @churchboy, @That KI Guy, @Jen, @Len, @bama, @chris88, @Fitzy, @Lenny120, @graeme ,@Tracey
Sorry to see you step away from it Bandit, but hopefully someone can step up for you to be able to do that. You’ve done your time and done it well.
Hi everyone, I am not going to start a new thread,a s this one will suffice. I got zero interest for someone to muck in in a part time capacity this year, and fair to say I have done a pretty shit job in 2026. 2027 won't get any better for me from a time perspective... so I am announcing I am not running for Commish next year. Before I go any further, a massive shout out to these folks: @Len - the work this man does around the draft planning and coordination is amazing... DO NOT EXPECT HIM TO PICK UP COMMISH DUTIES AS WELL, as he will have other things to do. Thank you mate for being the master coordinator! @Jen & @chris88 - thanks for the FIXture work, and the weekly round threads... you are superstars @That KI Guy - for arrange the weekly reviews etc... again another thankless task @JC & @graeme - my other sounding boards and general sages for all things wise... At this stage I am not even sure if I will be coach of the Spelunkers in 2027... as there were several periods this year when I went weeks without so much as looking at my team or the site... I just simple do not have the time when it matters.I'll make that call in the next few weeks. So, over to all of you... it honestly takes about 30 mins per week to keep things rolling, and a bit of coordination at the start, mid and end points of the year. Start of the year: Pick the start dates, and key dates based off that. All the draft threads - cut and paste job usually Len looks after the draft, there is literally nothing for you to do there. Just a check in to make sure he is ready to go Jen sends you the FIXture, there is literally nothing to do there, other than load it in. Mid season: MSD draft dates and threads Year end: These posts, finals coordination (getting people to pick opponents etc) Rule discussions Wrapping up season If (and it is an if) go again, I have a little SOO widget I am been working on that I think might make that a little easier to run in the bye rounds. So if I go again we might be able to bring SOO back in if people want it. So over to you... if anyone wants to know more then just reach out.... silence will not mean consent from me this year unfortunately.
One other shout out... to Dean @dmandrews Your write ups, whilst I don't comment often, are amazing, and are appreciated. The time you put into them is something I do not take for granted, and I truly appreciate it.
Thankyou for standing up and taking the baton mate, and then running with it for so long, kudos and appreciation!
