Best of luck to everyone. May injuries not ruin the even season that we have had. My bad. The carnage bus hit everyone I think. I know I lost three and my old mate Greame lost a couple. Think the Vultures and the Blimps cancelled each other out with a couple of big outs each. Packers lost Henderson, Knob lost Harbrow too. Shame really that this happens at the pointy end of the year.

Bloody disappointing end to the season - Tom Mitchell getting a finger in the eye at training today just about sums up my season. Down to 12 players selected and there may well be at least one vest in that lot. The luckiest team in ORFFA history had to run out of luck sometime. Still, the sun will come up tomorrow and next season we will be back even stronger. Good luck to everyone, at least Ross Lyon cannot noble the Cows in the final!

Well, what a crappy end of the season/first round of finals.

Two games utterly smashed by injuries and unexpected omissions. I empathise with both Foul Bay and the Waikiks - team selection has utterly whacked you both across the head.

Venus Bay have copped a couple of outs in Parker and Picken. Get Schulz back though ... but Parker is a big loss.

Darraweit have been smashed - unexpectedly no Tyson and McGlynn, Armitage a shock out too - my midfield wiped.

Greenwood named but on the bench - good chance of being sub again but ain't going to know until too late. Ditto the returning Coniglio - on the bench coming back from concussion and GWS have in every game this year named their sub from the bench four.

And, just for fun, Nick Haynes is also on the GWS bench. So given Callan Ward is also on the bench, one of Cogs or Haynes will be sub. Can't exclude both ...

At least Edwards is back. He might be a sub though.

This sub rule has stuffed fantasy football for years. I'll be happy to see the back of it. In the meantime I'm just going to name my best team of available players and let things fall where they may.

    I might cop 2 or 3 subs. I might cop none. I don't know and I'm a little disappointed to say that I can't say I care a heap.

It is really really disappointing to see injuries impact so heavily on some really good match-ups. Sucks a bit of enjoyment out of things.

Best of luck Fitzy. Best of luck everyone. And let's hope this round is the worst of the injuries, and whoever gets through the week has a better run next weekend.

Provisional team for the Guim to face Venus Bay: In: Vickery, Coniglio, Shane Edwards, Ross Out: Armitage, Shaun Edwards, Brown, Gleeson Best of luck to Lyons, Ross, Haynes, May, Greenwood and I think Vickery - all playing in their first final for the Guim. Seb Ross unexpectedly getting a late call up in place of Armitage. Shaun Edwards unlucky but may get a reprieve. <table cellspacing='10] <td rowspan='2' style='text-align: left;]Def: ]Alex Rance ]0 ]Steven MAY ]0 <td class='Emergency' style='text-align: left;]]Andrew Walker ]0

Yeah this carnage is a big downer all round. I'm spared more than most with Schofield's injury forcing me to play Lumumba (ugh!). Jimbo in a similar boat losing (arguably) his worst walk up defender and potentially having to play a Melbourne spud (watch that come back to bite me). Feel for the rest of you guys with significant outs. Best of luck for a competitive round of games. Lefties squad for their first final (provisional) In - Lloyd, Duryea (wishful thinking) Out - O'Brien, Schofield
Def: Heritier Lumumba 0 Josh Gibson 0 Taylor DURYEA 0

    Michael Firrito 0 Mark Baguley 0 0

Mid: Jordan Lewis 0 Leigh Montagna 0 Tendai MZUNGU 0

    Matt Priddis 0 Sam Mitchell 0 0

    Ruc: Todd Goldstein 0 0

Fwd: Angus Monfries 0 Brendon Goddard 0 Joe Daniher 0

    Tom Lynch 0 Stewart CRAMERI 0 0

Int: Josh Hill 0 Jake Lloyd 0 Nick Suban
Good luck boys and stay clear of the green.

PACKERS: Lake, Fasolo, Webster, Marley Williams Carrazzo, Mundy, Sloane, Miles (Jansen) Sandilands (Griffin) Danyle Pearce, Matera, Tom Lynch (GCS), S Reid Jeffy Garlett, Hutchings Missing 4 regulars in Dempster, Henderson, Scully and Clancee Pearce but glad to put out a full side. Hoping everyone gets no late outs, or ever the infamous 'late out then emergency late out' double whammy combo which I copped once already :)

Best of luck P'rap.

Best of luck P'rap. Yes pretty bizarre, but I probably would have played him as I have all season, and just copped a 60 like I have all season. So Carlton saved me from myself. After 2013 I had hoped he would be a 90+ average forward by now, and I name him every week thinking 'this will be the game'. Hopefully a change of scenery boosts the average up from 67 to something more like 85 in '16.

Apologies for the lack of review/preview to date this week, trying to get something put together today. Good luck to all those in the real finals, expecting to see some close contests

So big apologies from me on this one. I perhaps hoped about 6 weeks ago that all manner of things that I had on my plate may reduce somewhat by now to allow me to spend some time on these write-ups and get back to doing them each week, but that hasn't occurred - in fact, the things on my plate have become more numerous.
Something simply has to give and I can't honestly or fairly commit to the reviews/previews anymore, much and all as I loved doing them. Real life, work, family and other responsibilities have expanded in recent months and committing to the write-ups at any stage into the future is something I don't want to do given I can't promise that I'll actually get them done in a timely way. Thanks to all the coaches who have read and hopefully enjoyed the write-ups I've done in previous seasons and during this season. Again, I apologise for not being able to review the immediate past round as well.

All good mate, as I said privately many thanks for all you have done :) Real life > FA, though I have to remind myself of this at times, often odd times, 3am going through rookie reviews, 4am trying to figure out viable trade strategies and the like :p Coming 2nd or 3rd last for four years running doesn't just happen by itself, I've had to work very hard at it..

Injuries have decimated the Vultures in recent weeks after being one of the premiership favorites, but with Beams and Parker out for the season things are looking tough. Liam Picken out as well doesn't help... DEF: S.Higgins, S.Mayes, J.Howe, S.Docherty (N.Malceski) MID: J.Steven, A.Gaff, J.Crisp, T.Greene (A.Everitt) RUCK: M.Kreuzer FWD: J.Blair, L.Hunter, J.Hogan, J.Watts (J.Schulz) INT: S.Martin, B.Hill Probably the weakest line up we have fielded all year, sounds like a few others are the same though. If you said the above team will play finals this year I don't think anyone would have believed it haha. Best of luck Chris!

Was tempted to fly to the Gold Coast to make sure he didn't get up. I'm sure he will be back in a week though. Rocket doesn't like to play Smith in the ruck for consecutive games.

I put the biggest guy I could find on my roster - Paul Puopolo as ruck I figure at least its a laugh right? :) Thanks to Grav and Len for their very sporting heads up as I am stuck at work working late on an accounting server upgrade, FML

Given the carnage already delivered, it didn't quite sit right with me to take the advantage of Duryea's late call up (at the expense of Hale), without giving you a heads up. Really just want a fair contest. Lefties 406/5 vs Codpieces 350/5 Hodge had a bit of a stinker, though two of my mids have played without tonning up. Should be a tight one. Expecting the performances of Swan and Goldy to be most influential. Good luck for the rest of the weekend Jimbo.
