This week has seen more dramas for SuperCoaches, with Watson ruled out for the rest of the season, Maric suspended for the weekend and a range of other players missing for various reasons. Trades are starting to become scarce for many, and the importance of nailing each and every one of them grows by the week. I have to apologise for being rushed this week, so feel free to point out players I may have missed and try to forgive the spelling/grammatical mistakes.

Speaking of players I missed, the Best Buy this week is Essendon ruckman Shaun McKernan. Last week he didn't make the list but was rightfully mentioned in the comments section by TooSerious coaches, and after looking at all the stats I have to agree he's potentially great value. A cheap price, solid average and great flexibility make him a solid choice for a whole range of teams[span style='color: #444444; background-color: #fcfcfc;]- and of course it may be worth placing abet[span style='color: #444444; background-color: #fcfcfc;]on the next match.



DEFENSE
ROOKIES





Zak Jones (SYD) DEF 182.8k 41 +6k

Jones isn't a first-year rookie, hence his price, but he is on the bubble this week with an average of 41 after his score of 72 on the weekend. Brother of Nathan he has shown some good sign early in his AFL career but has struggled to stay in the Swans side, and his job security remains an issue.



Nick Holman (CAR) DEF 123.9k 46 +28k

Holman has played the last 2 games for the Blues, scoring 63 against the Dogs to bring him onto the bubble with an average of 46. With a low starting price and a 28 grand rise on the way he appears decent value, but like Jones has questionable job security at best.



Caleb Marchbank (GWS) DEF 197.3k 42 +4k
A high draft pick for the Giants, Marchbank has taken a while to get his opportunity at the top level but has so far been serviceable with an average of 42. His high asking price will likely deter a few coaches, but if you have the spare cash then the Giants are reasonably likely to want to keep getting games into him.



MID-PRICERS





Bachar Houli (RIC) DEF 476.3k 100 10.4%

Bachar kept himself in contention for a few squads on the weekend, scoring 117 points in a tight win over GWS. His average for the season is now 100 and with a price of around 475 grand he is good value for those looking to finalise their teams. Houli is set to lose a small amount after his next game, but with around a 10% selection rate he is still a decent POD.



Robert Murphy (WBD) DEF 488.1k 94 5.2%

Bob Murphy has turned back the clock a bit this season, revelling in the captaincy and averaging 94 for the year. His score of 106 against the Blues shows that he is still a capable option for your team, and with 5% selection he has some good POD value.



Alex Rance (RIC) DEF 418k 93 12.4%
Rance has been up and down this year, but as a fullback that is to be expected somewhat. A score of 111 in his last outing has brought his average back up to 93, but to really be good value he needs to start hitting 100+ with more regularity. Sitting in over 12% of teams he has more picks so far than the others here, but he still isn't an especially popular player to date.



PREMIUMS





Liam Picken (WBD) DEF 521k 99 4.1%

Picken keeps performing in his new role, pumping out 120 against Carlton to bring his average to 99 for the season. With a price of around 520 grand he is a bit overpriced, but with only 4% of teams backing him in so far he has heaps of POD potential if he can keep scoring well.



Corey Enright (GEE) DEF 507.1k 96 3.6%
Enright is another aging star in good form, averaging 96 for the year and coming in on the back of a near 3-week break. Costing 507 grand for an average of under 100 is a little over the odds, but certainly not enough to worry about, and he has big POD value sitting in only 3.6% of teams. If the Cats can start stringing some good games together he is every chance to finish the season averaging 100+, but as always he carries a bit of risk with him.

MIDFIELD
ROOKIES





Nick O'Brien (ESS) MID 123.9k 55 +40k

O'Brien is on the bubble this week, averaging 55 so far after a score of 61 against the Saints. Essendon have apparently completely fallen off the pace now, and with Watson out for the season this may only get worse, but they'll be looking to bounce back this week after their record-breaking loss to St Kilda. A starting price of 124 grand gives O'Brien some decent value, and he's facing a 40 grand price rise after his next game.



Alex Neal-Bullen (MEL) MID 161.8k 56 +47k
Neal-Bullen isn't on the bubble this week, but after some poor performances early on he managed a very nice 83 in his last game. This means his price is still at a reasonable 160 grand, and he will likely cost closer to 210 grand after his next outing.

MID-PRICERS





David Mundy (FRE) MID 544.5k 114 10.4%

Mundy has been fairly consistent this season, he has had a couple of poor games but generally he's been hitting the 100 mark far more often than not. Now averaging 114 after his 122 against the Lions he is great value for his 544 grand asking price, and with 10% selection is a good POD.



Josh P Kennedy (SYD) MID 510.5k 107 19.9%
JPK had a big game against the Power on Thursday, scoring 143 points and showing why he was such good value at under 500 grand. He's still priced cheaply for his 107 average, costing just 510 grand, but the Swans are sharing the points around a lot more this season so his consistency is questionable. Around 1/5ths of the competition have already locked JPK in, but his value and scoring potential will likely see that continue to increase over the coming weeks.

PREMIUMS





Daniel Hannebery (SYD) MID 585.2k 118 14%

JPK's teammate isn't going too badly either. Hannebery is clearly in the leading group of players this season by average, now boasting a 118 after his score of 142 last week, and is still in only 14% of sides. Costing 585 grand Hanners is priced where he should be for his average, which is usually good enough value for most, but the fact that 85% of the competition don't have him and he's the 3rd highest averaging midfielder in the league should be all the info you need.



Leigh Montagna (StK) MID 584.3k 117 2.5%

Joey has also been good this season, averaging 117 from the games he's played to put him comfortably in the group of leading players on average. A big score of 133 against the Dons helped, but realistically he's been playing pretty well all season. Montagna is set to lose around 4 grand in value after his next game, however his price is already pretty good and as he's in under 3% of teams to date his POD value makes him a great pick-up.



David Armitage (StK) MID 555.4k 116 5.1%

Another Saint in great form this year, Armo had a huge game against Essendon on the weekend adding 159 points to his total to take his average up to 116. Now in just over 5% of teams he isn't as big a POD as Montagna, but still offers great value both in price and POD potential.



Dayne Beams (BRI) MID 603.7k 114 16.9%

Beams has been a popular pick over the last few weeks, to the point where he's now sitting in almost 17% of sides. For a price of over 600 grand his average of 114 is around 5 points lower than it could be, but his recent form has made many coaches take the punt anyway. The return, again, of Rockliff might impact his scoring going forward, but whether it's in a positive way or a negative still remains to be seen.



Matt Priddis (WCE) MID 595.3k 114 10%
Priddis has been good this season, but not as good as his earlier huge score indicated he can be. Averaging 114 for the year he still has solid credentials, but with a price of almost 600 grand he is currently a bit over-priced. Around 10% of sides have backed him in so far, and the Eagles have got the potential to play well into the finals, but Priddis and his teammates need to maintain their focus and keep playing good footy to be decent value from here.

Scott Pendlebury (COL) MID 595k 119 41.3%

RUCK
ROOKIES





Rory Lobb (GWS) RUC 176.3k 53 +24k

Lobb has been at the Giants for a while now, and with Mumford's enforced absence he is now starting to get some more opportunities to show what he's got. Priced at around 175 grand and averaging 53 from his 2 games this season he is reasonable value, after his 64 on the weekend anyway, but generally most SCers will probably be looking for a R/F if they're going to bring in bench cover at this stage.



Keegan Brooksby (GCS) RUC 143.2k 51 +26k
Brooksby isn't on the bubble anymore, but as his price is still only 143 grand after his score of 59 on the weekend he still has some good value for potential coaches. With Ablett back in the side no-one knows how the Suns will perform for the rest of the year, but if the indications on the weekend are anything to go by then they should start playing some much better footy.



MID-PRICERS





Shaun McKernan (ESS) R/F 299.2k 83 6%

McKernan was missed by me last week, but helpfully pointed out in the comments section which is good as he's now the Best Buy of the round. With Bellchambers unlikely to return this season he has now taken the mantle of number one ruckman for Essendon, and with a price of 300 grand and an average of 83 looks excellent value. Jono Giles appears to have fallen off the face of the earth, leaving McKernan with decent job security, but the rest of the team's form has many questioning just how competitive they will be this year.



Max Gawn (MEL) R/F 449k 107 9.9%
Gawn continues to play well at Melbourne, averaging 107 from his limited games this year and costing around 450 grand for those looking to bring him into their side. Now sitting in around 10% of teams he has gained popularity pretty quickly, and with a further 20 grand price rise on the way he will probably get a few more picks this week.



PREMIUMS





Mark Blicavs (GEE) M/R 567.4k 109 19.6%

Blicavs is still performing well, except for last weekend when the Cats didn't play, and shaping as one of the better picks of the season to date. An average of 109 is a great contribution from the big man, although his price is slightly over market value, and his near 20% selection rate shows that a lot of fantasy coaches rate him.

Todd Goldstein (NM) RUC 632.4k 119 38.5%

FORWARD
ROOKIES





Jack Steele (GWS) M/F 117.3k 76 +69k

Steele has to be one of the more popular rookie choices in a while, only now coming onto the bubble but already with a selection rate of 28%. His low price of 117 grand helps, as does his M/F eligibility, but his average of 76 is obviously the main factor for many. For those that don't have him yet this week is the time to bring him in, as he will most likely be around 70 grand more expensive after his next match.



Kane Lambert (RIC) M/F 123.4k 36 +15k
Lambert had a false start early in the season, but has now broken his bubble. His score of 43 on the weekend has brought his average up to 36 for the games he's played so far, but due to this low average his price is still a very affordable 123 grand. A price rise of 15 grand is likely coming next week, and with M/F eligibility he should still be a decent option to pick up this round.



MID-PRICERS





Josh J Kennedy (WCE) FWD 467.4k 98 6.8%

JJK has been good this year, playing without a great deal of support in the forward line and still having some big impacts. This has resulted in an average of 98 for the season, and a price of only 467 grand. The return of Darling may effect his output for the rest of the year, but obviously that remains to be seen.



Jack Darling (WCE) FWD 447.6k 97 0.3%

Speaking of Darling, the West Coast forward had a big game against Melbourne racking up 146 points to burst his bubble. Priced at just under 450 grand he seems good value for his 97 average, but with JJK lining up next to him it may become a battle of points each week out west. Due to his injuries Darling is sitting in only 0.3% of teams, and is a real option for those wanting to take a big risk.



Shane Edwards (RIC) M/F 449.1k 97 2.1%
Edwards has been good this season without starring for the Tigers, averaging 97 points and costing 450 grand. This shows he is good value for those interested, but he does appear to have a lower ceiling than some other options. A big POD in only 2% of teams he has been fairly reliable to date, and the Tigers will need him firing to try to lock in a finals berth.



PREMIUMS





Nick Riewoldt (StK) FWD 506.6k 94 2.8%
Roo has been fairly good this season, considering the off-field issues he's had to endure, resulting in an average of 94 for the season so far. A big game against the Dons helped matters with a score of 117, and his price of 506 grand is pretty close to the mark. Sitting in under 3% of teams he hasn't matched his previous seasons scoring, but could still be good value if the Saints can keep the pressure they showed on the weekend going for the rest of the season.
