After a long and grueling SC season the finals are now upon us. For those lucky, or skilled, enough to still be in the running for overall congratulations are in order, and for the rest of us hopefully a few league wins are still on the cards.

The Best Buy this week is Swan Dan Hannebery, who is enjoying an excellent season and even though he is the 3rd highest averaging midfielder still has a selection rate of under 20%. That's great news for those that are looking for another midfielder to take them to glory, and even better now his price has now dropped to under 570 grand.

Apologies if the Best Buys seem rushed this week, and good luck to all for the remaining rounds.

    DEFENSE
    ROOKIES

    Tom Barrass (WCE) DEF 123.9k 60 +47k
Barrass has started his AFL career strongly, averaging 60 over his first 2 games with a high score of 71. This will see his price rise by an expected 47 grand after his next game, and with a price of 124 grand he looks like a good value downgrade choice. As with all rookies though of course, team selection will need to be monitored this week.

    MID-PRICERS

    Shaun Higgins (NM) D/F 497.4k 95 17.4%
Missy has been excellent value this season, starting in a fair few teams and delivering well for those that kept the faith. A price of just under 500 grand is around the mark for his average of 95, and with D/F positioning he has good flexibility. He hasn't put up many huge scores this season, his 138 on the weekend being one of the exceptions, but Higgins appears a solid choice for cover and loopholes especially when combined with the likes of Goddard.

    PREMIUMS

    Liam Picken (WBD) DEF 529.9k 101 7.2%

Picken is still one of the leading defenders in SC this season, averaging 101 after his 104 point effort against the Dons. A price of around 530 grand is a bit on the high side for his numbers but he has shown the ability to go large, and with only 7.2% of teams fielding him he has some good POD value.

    Alex Rance (RIC) DEF 507.6k 97 17.3%

Rance has been up and down this year, not quite reaching the heights many were hoping for but still performing admirably nonetheless. His current price is better value than Pickens but his selection rate at 17.3% is more than double so once again it comes down to risk vs reward. The Tigers will be pushing hard for a top 4 spot over the remainder of the season, and Rance is the type of player that can stand up against any opposition on his day.

    Dylan Roberton (StK) DEF 530.8k 95 3.6%
Roberton is still looking decent value for those looking for a POD, averaging 95 points and sitting in under 4% of sides. A price of 530 grand is overs for what he has produced so far, but the future looks good for the young defender and at this stage of the season the number of trades remaining and potential outputs are usually of far greater concern to SCers.

    REGULARS

    Luke Hodge (HAW) D/M 601.7k 113 36.8%

    Heath Shaw (GWS) DEF 605k 111 33.1%

    MIDFIELD
    MID-PRICERS

    Leigh Montagna (StK) MID 515.4k 110 2.7%

Montagna has been good this season, he started the year belatedly due to injury but hasn't really looked back since. A 107 last outing has brought his average to 110 for the games he's played, and his selection rate is still sitting under 3% giving him excellent POD value. His price of just 515 grand also makes Joey great value price-wise, and a player that is well worth considering.

    David Armitage (StK) MID 515.2k 110 7.9%

Armitage is in a similar position to Montagna, playing for the same team with the same average and at the same price. The main difference currently is the selection rate of around 8%, but both have good POD value.

    Sam Mitchell (HAW) MID 546.1k 109 10.3%

SMitch has also been good this season, averaging 109 and only missing the one game to date. A price of 546 grand is appropriate for his average, and while he has only had one score over 130 he has been quite consistent with a season low of 86. Around 10% of teams have backed in the ageing Hawks champion, but teams should keep in mind the possibility of The General appearing over the final rounds.

    Joel Selwood (GEE) MID 543.9k 104 20.4%
After frustrating the majority of his coaches with low scores this season Ducky appears to have now turned the corner, with scores of 142 and 171 in his last 2 outings. This has seen his price skyrocket 50 grand over the same period, with another 40 grand increase on the way after his next game. 20% of the competition have held on to Selwood in the hope that he could get it back together, and while his form overall has been disappointing some will likely look to grab the Geelong star for their run towards a league flag.

    PREMIUMS

    Daniel Hannebery (SYD) MID 567.7k 116 17.8%

Hannebery has been one of the better performers in SC this year, averaging 116 after his score of 134 against the Crows. Now priced well at around 570 grand after a poor game dropped his value some weeks back he will be a strong candidate for the 80%+ of the competition that don't have him, even though like most of the midfielders here this week his price is set to drop further after the next round. Hanners is the Best Buy for this week, and apologies in advance if the curse takes its toll on him.

    Matt Priddis (WCE) MID 592.7k 116 20.7%

Priddis managed to dodge the Best Buys curse last week, knocking up 125 points and continuing to be a standout performer for the Eagles. This has brought his price to around 590 grand, and his average to 116 for the season. A consistent player with the potential to put up huge numbers he is a good option for many, although his selection numbers have jumped significantly over the previous round almost doubling from the 11.2% he had at this stage last week.

    David Mundy (FRE) MID 575.2k 114 13.3%
Mundy also seemed to dodge the curse, after being named joint-Best Buy with Priddis he still managed a score of 103 to bring his average down slightly to 114 for the year to date. His price is now sitting at 575 grand, which is reasonably good value for his numbers, but his selection rate only increased by 2% as opposed to the 9% that Priddis' did. This means he's still a solid POD pick, and with Freo playing on Sunday in every remaining round (except round 23 which hasn't been announced yet) he is a great choice for back-up for those looking to try the loopholes.

    REGULARS

    Scott Pendlebury (COL) MID 577.7k 115 45.9%

    RUCK
    PREMIUMS

    Max Gawn (MEL) R/F 529.9k 112 11.3%

Gawn continued his break-out run on the weekend, scoring 104 in a surprise win against the struggling Magpies. This means he's averaging 112 from the games he's played this year and is priced at 530 grand, making him great value as either a ruckman of forward. Gawn is still one of the best averaging forwards this season, and with around 11% of teams picking him he has some great POD value.

    Stefan Martin (BRI) RUC 542.5k 108 4.4%

Martin has also been solid this season, although he has had some quieter patches. A 135 in his last game has brought his average up to 108, and his price is sitting at a healthy 542 grand. Under 5% of the competition have selected the Lions ruckman so far, and with Leuey out for a few weeks now he's every chance to keep the big scores coming.

    Aaron Sandilands (FRE) RUC 536.4k 100 8.2%
Sandi has been a bit off this year, when compared to last season's output anyway, and after a big score of 145 his average has jumped up to an even 100. His price tag of 536 grand is a bit high going by those numbers, but the fact that he scored 145 points on the weekend will likely have a few taking notice. Around 8% of teams are backing Sandi to finish the season with a bang, and Freo will be counting on it to stay in top spot on the ladder.

    FORWARD
    ROOKIES

    Hugh Goddard (StK) D/F 172.8k 63 +33k
Goddard burst his bubble last week with a score of 68, bringing his average up to 63 from his first 3 games and his price to just over 170 grand in the process. With the shortage of rookies on the bubble this round he looks to still be good value, and even more so with a corresponding D/F at the other end of the ground. Set to increase in value by around 33 grand after his next game now is probably the last chance to grab him for most, unless you have plenty of cash/trades up your sleeve for finals.

    PREMIUMS

    Brett Deledio (RIC) M/F 601.8k 112 11.6%

Lids just keeps on keeping on after his return from an injury layoff, scoring 134 against the Dockers and taking his average for the year to 112. A price of just over 600 grand is quite pricey for the numbers, but that kind of output in the forward line is likely still worthwhile for most. Sitting in around 11% of teams he still has some decent POD value, and could well be a difference-maker through finals.

    Harley Bennell (GCS) M/F 560.6k 106 4.4%

Bennell has been frustrating from a fantasy perspective this season, looming as a break-out contender during the pre-season he failed to really fire during the real stuff, and then came the cocaine revelations. While bad news for coaches like myself that thought he would either miss more footy or struggle to perform, and hence traded him out, the good news for the rest of you is that his selection rate is now at just 4.4%. Scores of 140 and 139 back-to-back since his return have shown that he is focussed on proving his worth to his team, and he could make a sneaky POD yet.

    Luke Dahlhaus (WBD) FWD 526.3k 103 11.7%

Dahlhaus still seems to be relishing his new-found midfield role, and after a 102 on the weekend his average is sitting at a healthy 103 for the year. A price of 526 grand is a bit overs for what he has produced to date, but he has shown enough for around 12% of the competition to back him in.

    Chad Wingard (PTA) FWD 529.4k 99 7.7%
Wingard continues to perform admirably, albeit in the shadow of Robbie Gray, and is putting up some pretty solid performances regularly. An average of 99 isn't amazing but still quite good for the forward line, and his price of 530 grand, while a bit excessive, is still certainly affordable. Under 8% of teams so far have put their faith in the young South Australian, and it could well pay off for them over the last few games of the fantasy year.

    REGULARS

    Dane Swan (COL) M/F 521.7k 103 58.5%

    Dustin Martin (RIC) M/F 485k 103 47.7%

    Robbie Gray (PTA) M/F 533.8k 110 54.9%

    Tom Mitchell (SYD) M/F 443.4k 99 30.7%

    WAITING LIST
