So, Gawn. Playing sore or something right? Talk about up and down!

Reckon we're gunna see some big scores this week though, particularly with Capt. Goldie knocking out a big 176.

What are you looking at this week?

Pods are great when they work.

Gibbs for example, a great Pod.

However, they do tend to be high-risk low-reward type stuff. If they do well, you're what, on average, 10ppg better off than the rest of the comp.

If they go down though, particularly if they score a 20 or some such on the way, then you're kicked well down!

A little surprised to see the high scores going around given how many big names were out this week and not too many high scores in either of my two leagues, I'm only in two though. Finished with 2146 helped largely by Shaw's double ton. Had nic nat as captain after dangerfield's sub return as vice. Generally everyone pulled their weight although I'd like a bit more from mcveigh who is a POD at the moment. Some decent rookie scores to keep their cash generation going in the upwards direction. Very disappointing with macpherson though. From a SC perspective he was on track for a pretty decent score and now we have to wait to see how long he is out for.

The other main headache to come out of the round was stephan martin. Thats 3 poor scores now if you include the game he was KO'd but the worry is if they persist with trent west taking all his minutes in the ruck then that type of return from Martin will probably become a regular thing. Both my oppenents had Goldstein who i know wont wont come up against gorringe every week but that was a 127 points lost on just one matchup! I'm very tempted to trade martin out for goldstein this week as i have the money there, but is that too sideways-ish? Goldstein is pretty good value at the moment after that 40 odd a few weeks back.

      TU: Stick with Martin
TD: Cut the losses and bring in Goldy

That is bad luck but congrats on going so well this year, hopefully you can keep it going. Were you not happy with your vice captains score? You probably wont go back to gawn again for a while but he comes up against Port this week who of course dont have a ruckman so might be back in the points again. One for the loophole maybe!

2397 this week - had the Swans Josh Kennedy as VC and was going to loophole his 119 but got side-tracked on Saturday and left the C on Danger. Lost 33 points with that stuff up, but otherwise no complaints.

Shout outs to Shaw, Ward, Goldy, Doherty, Zorko, Gunston, Kennedy and DEAAAAAAAAA!!! Had a couple of blokes in my leagues who captained either Goldstein or Shaw (nice!) but another Gawn (ergghh!)
Very disappointed MacPherson has been injured - cash generation potential looking a bit bare in upcoming weeks.

      Go maxweas1!!!!

Also simonoz in the TS expats league scored 2,524... Wow!! What's the best score others saw in any of their leagues?

Thanks all for the kind words. Had danger as vc....

In europe for work for the next 3 weeks which is going to make managing the team hard. Hopefully i can keep up with the pack.

Score of 2,381 with rank rise of 2,968 to be 3,774, happy with that.
I had the main top scores this week but my main concern is S Martin as I have Goldie I think I will just sit tight and hope big Stef comes good.

I think like many others, myself included, it will be hold SMartin until his bye and then rage trade him!

It looks like some coaches aren't sure whether to bring Hopper in (starting price $193,800 score of 106 and 74, average 90)

Using the TooSerious Salary Predictor and assuming Hopper plays every game until Round 14 here are his predicted price movements and cumulative cash made

.........70 from here ........75 from here .........80 from here .........85 from here .........90 from here
      10 $238,300 $ 44,500 $240,000 $ 46,200 $241,000 $ 47,200 $243,300 $ 49,500 $245,000 $ 51,200
      11 $262,000 $ 68,200 $266,600 $ 72,800 $271,300 $ 77,500 $276,000 $ 82,200 $280,600 $ 86,800
      12 $279,600 $ 85,800 $288,300 $ 94,500 $297,000 $103,200 $305,800 $112,000 $314,500 $120,700
      13 $293,700 $ 99,900 $305,600 $111,800 $317,600 $123,800 $329,600 $135,800 $341,600 $147,800
      14 $304,900 $111,100 $319,500 $125,700 $334,100 $140,300 $348,700 $154,900 $363,300 $169,500

For me he is worth bringing in if he can play at M8 (ie assuming an 80 plus average from here) and the extra cash required doesn't throw out my trading plan or ability to use dpp prior to and during the byes. As I am very light on for Rd15 bye players, at this stage I would most likely be holding him for Round 15 and perhaps another few weeks rather than trading him out, whereas others may want to upgrade him to a Premium at that stage.

The round 15 thing is the only thing that's got him in consideration for me at the moment.

The biggest concern is that downgrading to him is only going to next me $100k, rather than the $200k that will net me a down/upgrade this week.

If he makes $140k, that's nice, but he really does push that upgrade back a good 6 weeks.

Worth it if he can play through to the bye, but then, the GWS are chock full of talent! :D

Happy to have no-Hopper has a POD but it will probably backfire. I don't really want a rookie to be M8 and still waiting on MenaDUD! to actually score a 60-70 so his price can actually rise.

PL - I wasn't clear above, what I meant was m8 FOR NOW

Basically I see less need for hopper if someone has all 8 premos locked and loaded and he sits at m9 until the byes, or similarly if he averages 70ish and we play petracca and benkenn types ahead of him
