    As with all years, the pre-season work has been done, final tweaks as the teams are announced will happen (of course) and we all start on zero points.
    [span style='font-size: 14px; background-color: #ffffff;]With all the excitement of ASADA wrapping up in a nice little package, it fills me with much happiness to be rolling into another footy season! Seriously, this saga has striped the joy out of the last few years, so it will be nice to roll into a season, excited about what might be.
    [span style='font-size: 14px; background-color: #ffffff;]We'll get the teams posted in this thread as they come out.
    (That said, I'll be heading off camping tomorrow night for the Easter weekend, so I hope that my phone is up to the task! :D If anyone wants to update said teams into the post as they are confirmed, I'd appreciate it!)

      I would remain skeptical at least until I see the other teams.

      Smith may be said to start on the field but that means nothing to his js or tog.Considering there's Carrazzo, Bell, Curnow and Everijtt sitting on the pine I would expect most if not all to play more than Smith (vest pending). Let's not forget it's typical shenanigans to play around with the 'official' named lineup. Look at Richmond, they have a 188cm general defender listed as their full back. Yeah right :D

      So you're really banking on Laverde or Steele then TTH, coz Krak won't get picked this week - not even close to Port's best 22 atm.
      Trengove, Hartlett, Ryder, Monfries and hopefully Wingard to come in to Port's round 1 team and Krak couldn't even make the 26 for Port's NAB3 game.

      particularly given that richmonds team has a few players who I thought hadnt nailed down their spot in 2014

      The footyshow has been putting up squads for all the games, not sure what it means as I thought squads for all other games would be released tomorrow.
      From the ones I did catch, I saw that Freeman was not in the Collingwood squad, and they had Vandenberg on the squad list for Melbourne, though I didn't think he had been elevated from the rookie list yet?
      Lambert is listed as an emergency for tomorrow night and Boekhurst not named.

      I want as many rookies playing in round 1, though at the same time I don't want to ditch a rookie who hasn't been named and pick someone else (Clem Smith as an example) who hasn't had much hype and later stuck with him in he only plays the first 1-2 games.
      I remember I had that issue with Clurey last year with Port, played round 1 and didn't appear again.
      Are people going to hold onto Lambert even if he is listed as an emergency? I'm leaning towards keeping him anyways.

      We have 11 rookies in the midfield this year, so I think if you want Lambert as your M/F link then that's fine. It's only in the forward line I wouldn't pick him, there's plenty more fish in the sea there.

      Lambert will get game time this season, so it's not like he wont moo and by the time you trade him out likely to be other options.
