Auctions are open but must be concluded by 29th November Auction rules: 1. All players or picks to be auctioned should be listed with a closing day/time. 2. All players or picks being auctioned cannot be pulled before that day/time. 3. No asset being auctioned should be the subject of private trade negotiations nor used as part of a bid in another auction, until the auction of the asset has reached it's conclusion/closing time, with or without a sale. 4. Stating a reserve, or a preferred return type for the auctioned asset is voluntary. 5. The reserve is not reached on any asset until the seller says so. 6. Once a reserve has been reached the seller has the option to adjust the auction length, but to no less than 48 hours, or the end of the trade period, whichever is the lesser. 7. As soon as practical after receiving multiple bids on an asset the seller should indicate whom is in front, any reasoning is optional. 8. All auctions are final and irreversible unless via subsequent mutually agreed trade. 9. Once a bid is tabled the bid is live until rejected OR deemed beaten by the person conducting the auction, it cannot be materially altered once tabled. 10. No bid can be conditional on outcomes not directly related to the auction at hand.
On the block: Steven Motlop FWD Geelong. All reasonable offers considered. Auction closes Sunday 3 September at 1800 EST.
I'm going to throw one on the table... and it's a ruckman... which should get the interest of a few of you (@anthak @JC @jimbowan @Jen @Lenny120 @TerryinBangkok yes all of you lol) Ben McEvoy, 28 years old, 95 ppg average this year. Career best form. Looking for PSD draft picks, or players under 23 that have clearly demonstrated potential. I'm happy to keep him so you need to bring more than burger rings but with Hodor in the team BBM may not fit into my longer term plans. Auction will run until 9pm AEST on the 15th of September, or 72 hours after the reserve is met.
Ok, sorry, I thought it was 23 or draft picks so I thought because of the high draft pick it would be fine. I'll have to have a bit of a think about it then.
Really close Jen... and thanks for the offer I nearly hit the big thumbs up but not quite over the line. Reserve not met, but this one was hard to turn away.
Having said that, I will chuck one up on the block just to give people a small taste. HEATH SHAW, Def, 31 years old, Avg 83.3 Averaged over 103ppg in 2016 and still has a couple of seasons of footy left in him. We know he throws in the occasional stinker, but has a very fantasy friendly game and is still one of the higher averaging defenders in the comp. Will walk into every team's best 15. I am looking for a younger, but still established defender. The lower you go in terms of average and scoring potential, the more you will find that you will need to throw a PSD pick into the mix. Or you can go the alternate route and offer a good pick and a crapper defender as steak knives. I will also potentially consider a midfielder in this auction as well (and I am always partial to a ruckman). Auction closes the day after the second prelim (I can't be bothered looking up the date) at 5pm.
Thanks Ant, but neither of those players are demonstrating much in terms of potential... Aliir last year maybe but can't break into the team, I thought he might go next step this year but wasn't to be... Ah Chee going to be a plodder for a while me thinks.
Cat meet pigeons: For auction, that most rare of beasts – a pair of handcuffed ruckmen: Sam Naismith – 25 years old, career high 13 games this season, averaging around 67. Arguably his best season thus far. Sydney’s preferred number 1 ruckman now, despite his questionable hair-do (especially given Tippett’s dodgy ankles, omission from finals games and the likelihood he’ll be moving on after this season) Cal Sinclair – 27 years old but lightly raced, to use a horseracing phrase. Enjoyed career best season averaging nearly 80 and is absolutely best 22 at Sydney now. Even better – a ruck/forward and barring some unexpected snafu from those designating player positions in 2018, will remain as such. So, a starting ruck and then a ruck/forward. Given the prices being asked and paid for single ruckmen at the moment, a handcuffed pair virtually guaranteeing your team a starting ruckman every week (and many weeks, two starting ruckmen) will have me asking for a high first round draft pick and a fit, young, quality mid or forward. Alternatively, a borderline star young mid (or forward) and a second rounder will be considered. This auction is a short one, it will run until 11pm on Sunday, September 17.
