So, the silly season has started with Jackson Trengove heading of to the Doggies as an unrestricted free agent.

Lot of guys look to be lining up to go to the Bombers which makes me smile, and the Dees should be picking up a Leaver themselves.

Hopefully they get the big movements out early so that it doesn't hold everything up!

Ah trade week. When every fan and his soggy pie becomes an expert on all the players in the league, overrate their own spuds, call out the spuds on other teams (unless they sign) and every reporter, blogger, hack and bot on social media announces every player is going to at least six different clubs. :D

Anyway, whatever Hawthorn do now they've lost trade week already. They brought Jeff Kennett back ffs.

I don't know what you're talking about mate, all I know is that Stringer is barely worth a 2nd rounder on a good day. Dogs should be starting the car with 28!

ORFF trade period shits all over the AFL one for over-valuing spuds and proposing ridiculous deals, by so far it's not funny, because all the ones made to me generate an email I still have them all, will put them in book form one day just for laughs :p

I still need another first rounder, do you want Stanton back? I've been told by reliable sources that he's training the house down already.

The first couple of trades have been added to the OP, no doubt someone will keep things up to date from time to time.

Of course if you want a real-time list go to http://www.afl.com.au/news/trade/trade-tracker or other sources online.

Essendon has traded out of the first round for a 5'8" forward even though what the Bombers actually need is a few big-bodied midfielders. Strange priorities, but there you go.

Stringer has been given a massive reality check and the kick up the bum that he needed. After today's events, I expect him to play for the Dogs in 2018.

The club has always maintained that if the right deal can't be done he will stay. Yet the media have chosen to paraphrase that as "he is not a wanted player". I suppose that is the story that suits their narrative, along with the stuff that his ex went public with the other week.

The more accurate media comment on the situation was from Sam Landsberger (good doggies supporter that he is) who I thought nailed it in his piece today.

Fast forward a week and I expect that the media will be "shocked" that Stringer is staying at the Dogs. Seriously we have a bunch of muppets masquerading as journalists in the AFL media.

We always have though! It feels weird being on the other side of it for once though!

Stringer was 100% leaving last week and now it's more than likely he's staying unless Essendon can get back into the first round it seems. Called the silly season for a reason, it's not really predictable what is going to happen.

Cameron probably not going to Brisbane either.

Blues coming from nowhere to pull off some pretty good deals, for both the Blues and the Quolls.

This particular deal just made me throw up in my mouth.

I'm done with Jason McCartney, he can **** off to GC immediately. He has royally screwed us on the way out today.

Probably one too many 2nd rounders in there. We'll take it though.

Exactly. No way the 2018 pick had to be included (or your Pick 40). McCartney has no idea how to negotiate.

If you guys do well next year, it's not too bad.

      25 > 28
      40 < 34 (ish)?
      String = 16

It's not too far from what most people were valuing Stringer at come the start of trade week.

Wow, so currently tracking (I think) as:

      Out - Gibbs, #40, #58, #77, #95 and future 2nd, 3rd and 4th rounders
In - Kennedy, Lobbe, Lang, #10, #30, #73, ADE & WB future 2nd rounders, GEE future 4th rounder.

      And we kept pick #3.

      Not too bad.
