The Nuffers have named a squad of 19, with Nic Nat and Wood named we have a chance of getting 15 on the park and at least a few can be celebrated as part of round !!
Provisional Hoppers.....will update when I get up in the morn if need be! Last week played the bye round - this week play an undefeated team of about 22 games - dammit Graeme !! IN: Weitering - Cameron - Ah Chee OUT: Cofffield - Stringer - ECurnow DEF: Mills - Shaz - Hardwick - Weitering (Coffield*) MID: Cripps - Neale - Adams - McClug (Rayner*) RCK: Grundy (Cox) FWD: CCurnow - Martin - Fisher - Cameron (Stringer) I/C: Ah Chee - Billings
As with the Troggs, this should be easy to populate for the Lefties... Def - , , , Mid - , , Ross, Ruck - Fwd - , , , IC - , Expecting some late ins and outs but starch level should remain constant.
Blimps team: In: Walters Out: Newnes (omitted) Lucky to retain their spots: Lyons, Goddard Mr Newnes came second in our best and fairest last season, and is yet to poll a vote in 2018 (though being concussed early in one game did not help) With players like Walters, Adams, Smith etc gradually making their returns, as well as Poholke and Ballard in the wings, the match committee have delivered a stern message to young Jack that he needs to extract the digit. Messers Lyons and Goddard have more credits in the bank right now, though Jarryd has been poor the last three weeks.
Misfits still at 13, 15 named but 2 are on extended bench and unlikely.. DEFENDER Rory Laird, Jimmy Webster, Jake Lloyd, Adam Tomlinson MIDFIELDER Lachie Whitfield, Callan Ward, Tim Taranto, James Worpel RUCK Patrick Ryder FORWARD Devon Smith, Caleb Daniel, Orazio Fantasia, Ben Keays INTERCHANGE Nick Haynes, Daniel Rich
I look forward to it, Terry. I'd stock up if I were you, though. Given the week I've had I'm a chance to drink the bar dry.
Here is my team to take on the Nuffers, with the new nickname of Spudlunkers. I'll do my best to go back down the ladder @ChiefRussell Def: Jayden Short, Liam Duggan, Riley Bonner, Jack Bowes (Oscar McDonald) Mid: Marcus Bontempelli, Zac Merrett, Rory Atkins, Mark Blicavs (Andrew Brayshaw) Ruck: Oliver Florent Fwd: Cale Hooker, Jack Higgins, Bayley Fritsch, Sam Petrevski-Seton (Jack Lonie) Int: Bailey Dale, Darcy Tucker (Zachary Bailey)

After having seven of their eight defenders available for selection in Round 8, three defenders have been injured in the past week including 2017 Devils b & f winner Michael Hurley. Players from Cradle Mountain’s squad named in their AFL team’s 22 man side for Round 9: Def: 4 of 8 Fwd: 4 of 8 Pure mid: 8 of 9 Grigg the exception returning from injury Pure Ruc: 3 of 3 The Devils were still able to name a 15 player team in position and four emergencies with only one OOP. Fair to say that the fitness and form of Devils in the middle of the ground is tracking considerably better than Devils at either end of the ground. Cradle Mountain Devils Round 9 2018 team for the battle of the mountains against Mount Beauty In: S Pendlebury, H Himmelberg Out: J Steele (omitted), M Hurley (hamstring) Def: P Seedsman, N Vlastuin, J Lever, H Himmelberg Mid: S Pendlebury, D Heppell, D Zaharakis, D Zorko(J Steele) Ruck: T Nankervis (T Boyd) Fwd: T Lynch, T Membrey, J Gresham, A McDonald-Tipungwuti (J Roughead) Int: J Redden, Z Jones (J Hopper) With Hurley out due to a hamstring injury Harrison Himmelberg gets another opportunity at senior level in the backline. Five-time Devils best and fairest Scott Pendlebury returns to captain the side in Round 9 after being a late withdrawal with an ankle injury last weekend, his late replacement Jack Steele has been omitted. Usually the Devils don’t name an emergency in the ruck, however with Toby Nankervis under an injury cloud Tom Boyd has been named as the ruck emergency this week.
Gariwerd round 9. We’ve been looking forward to this game to help the visiting Lefties lock in that #1 draft pick In: Tom Rockliff Out: Matt Crouch D: Hurn, Houli, Tuohy, HTaylor (O’Shea) M: Polec, Steven, Jones, Rockliff (Masten) R: Sandilands F: Wallis, Jenkins, Wingate, Young (Christensen) I: Bellchambers, Hickey (TMiller)
Strange old scoring for Darraweit. 13 players scoring between 69 and 102. Only 2 centuries yet almost score 1250. Weird one.
By far the best display of the season by the Nuffers has seen them get home 1256 to 1105 against the Spelunkers. Charlie's Opening's Bailey Dale "won" the BSOG (Biggest Spud on Ground) honours with 23, while Sexton for the Nuffers showcased his inner spud with non-distinction in amassing a paltry 30 points. The Tassie side had plenty of players prove their poatato like qualities with Blicavs (46), Atkins (47) and Bonner (48) providing sub 50 scores that proved the difference in the end. Whilst somewhat chuffed with the win the new coach is realistic enough to see that Nuffers side definitely played above themselves and are sure to belatedly prove their true spud credentials in the remaining 8 rounds this season with their next match at home to @bama and the Fugly Uglies.
@Len Sir Lenski and other coaches of course: Would like to request that Lock Out on Friday night happens at the end of the game and not at the start, obviously not including those playing in that game. Over here the game usually starts at 5am, I get up at about 6/630 so I have no chance to update my team based on Friday night teams announced for the weekend. Aka this weekend I had a donut as the site was locked when I went to update it at half time. Thoughts all ?
I'm not a fan tbh, but am happy to run a poll and see what the group think is. I frequently get stuck with a donut, I'm not sure why the 1st game should be any different than the 3rd?
It’s more about Sunday teams being finalized at 530pm on Friday night, which is 330am for me. The Friday night game starts at 530am for me which is lockout, thus if I’m not up Friday morning before 530am I’m shit outa luck.
I can see that being a pain in the butt, I am not sure that it is possible though, I believe what would end up being in the system is a lockout at the start of the 2nd game, effectively creating a rolling lockout every week which is largely undesirable. What I would suggest is an assistant coach or coaches who can check your team prior to the standard lockout and adjust where possible for any late outs or Sunday extended bench stuff. I'm happy to assist in this, have done it before and no doubt a number of other guys would also. If I do it you don't need to give me account details, if others do than you will need to share login and pwd so they can make the required changes but it's not like we have bank details etc to assist. Would this work?
