After the end of the First Stage
 
Group A
22 Ton Salute topped the group after handing Knights Who Say Ni (2067-1904) their 3rd consecutive defeat and an early exit.  2nd was Heavymen who surged from 4th spot after defeating Below The Radar (2291-1969) in a result that saw their opponents retain the 3rd and final qualification spot after the already eliminated Aliir Squared salvaged some pride by knocking over Test Eagles and moving from last in the group to 4th.  All 3 qualified teams move forward with a 3-2 record.
 
Group B
Team Stripey Qualifies atop Group B despite a Round 7 loss to The Floggers as their handy  % advantage saw them hold off the fast finishing EreCumDaOtStepperFC who smashed FlickMyMcBean (2417-2162).  On A(Clenbute)Roll did the business against Malteasers achieving a 2148-2087 to clinch 3rd spot ahead of their opponents by 0.65%.  Again, all 3 teams move forward to the next stage with 3-2 records.
 
Group C
The 3 qualifiers were decided last week, and Fantasy Addicts made it 5-0 in topping the group defeating the already qualified Lightning Bolt (2166-2101) who finished in 3rd spot with a 3-2 record as Blue Steele defeated Carcinogenic Goats (2137-1957) to go to 4-1 and nab 2nd.  Kangas Dynasty defeated Crafty Yarni in the dead rubber match. 
 
Group D
The already qualified That’s a Paddling also went 5-0 defeating The Megrems (2166-2063), and in the other 2 matches narrow wins to We’re Flying High and WhoGibbsaFC over The Old Gillsy and Simply The Bruest (2029-2019 and  2320-2194) respectively saw them clinch 2nd and 3rd spots with 3-2 records.
 
Group E
Already qualified TheTassieTitans slumped to their first defeat (2176-2215) to 2nd Placed Highly Fevolved with both teams achieving 4-1 records.  A win by Bafingwood FC against Doobia Dominators (2216-2115) was enough for them to clinch 3rd with a 3-2 record.  Anthak took out his 2nd victory over Jacko’s Dream as both were eliminated, with anthak no doubt rueing his 3 point loss in Round7 to the Titans.
 
Group F
The already qualified Thru The Sticks also made it 5-0  falling over the line against last placed Simonoz (1978-1910).  Wanderers lost their first 2 games of the comp but came home in style with 3 consecutive wins smashing Ad’s Adventurer’s (2200-1988) to clinch 2nd spot ahead of their opponents who held off Wu-Tang Clan by 0.09% (or around 9-10 points) total) over the 5 match round robin after the latter consigned my team to the embarassment of a 4th consecutive loss (2101-2079).  A sunday morning switch of Captain from Fyfe to Gray by the Clan in effect sent them to a most unfortunate early exit as 2nd through 4th in Group F all finished 3-2.
 
Group G
As with Group C the qualifiers had been decided a week early.  Oil, Beef, Hooked defeated Bluebaggers (2156-2012) to move to 4-1 and top of the Group.  Beast Mode held on for 2nd despite losing (1956-2096) to Mierda who moved from last to 4th.  In the dead rubber match Banchang Bullies defeated TyigersOfOld to send them to bottom of the group making it a miserable competition for the 2 previous Master Series Winners (the other was myself in Group F).
 
Group H
In the final group SF Bulls defeated Tent Cotchin (2236-2117) to top the Group with a 4-1 record and the win also ensured that WhoKnows and BastowFc qualified regardless of their Round 7 results.  WhoKnows defeated Wafty Boxes (2218-1978) to take 2nd place with a 4-1 record, with Bastow FC being upset by Ahmed Myself Saad (2092-2137) to finish 3rd with a 3-2 record.

thanks to the 23 other teams who entered but bow out after the 1st stage, firstly for showing interest and making this comp a reality, secondly for joining up without a hitch and thirdly for competing hard and in some cases lending a hand with the admin duties as well
