The stadium is buzzing as word comes through that the Captain of the Blowflys, Rory Sloane, will not play in the Grand Final! - a brutal late out for Korumburra! Apparently after helping an elderly woman cross the road on his way into the stadium, Sloane was set upon by a group of 8-10 thugs brandishing a variety of weapons. After handing out a severe beat down to what a witness has described only as "Armadillo supporters" he was struck by a passing Mr Whippy Van desperately circling the stadium looking for a customer at this, the tail end of winter. Despite insisting he was still fine to play, the great man has been ruled out after failing to pass the leagues strict concussion testing protocol.
