Hi All, As the SC Gold team picker has been out for a while and for those without it there are other avenues, I thought we could start an early sharing of ideas and thoughts? I don't have SC Gold myself (apols. for formatting), but can kick things off with this first draft - concerns probably being 4 injury returns, and lots of DEFS sharing Byes: DEF Lachie Whitfield, GWS Zac Williams, GWS Nic Newman, CAR Brodie Smith, ADE Jack Scrimshaw, HAW Sam Collins, GCS Harrison Wigg, GCS Marty Hore, MEL MID Patrick Cripps, CAR Clayton Oliver, MEL Dustin Martin, RIC Dan Hannebery, STK Brad Crouch, ADE Sam Walsh, CAR Luke Valente, FRE Charlie Constable, GEE Rhylee West, WBD Brett Bewley, FRE Liam Stocker, CAR RUCKS Max Gawn, MEL Todd Goldstein, NTH Darcy Fort, GEE FWDS Patrick Dangerfield, GEE (MID) Devon Smith, ESS (MID) Josh Dunkley, WBD (MID) Toby Greene, GWS Will Setterfield, CAR (MID) Izak Rankine, GCS Irving Mosquito, ESS (MID) Ben Cavarra, WBD
G'day Kanga18, Obviously very early in the pre-season so there is a fair bit of "gut feel" to any speculation for now, but I think you have many selections that will be popular this year in both the premiums and the rookie-priced options. Really like the Dunkley selection, he finished 2018 with a bang and should continue into 2019. Cavarra is also a good selection. Yes I am biased when it comes to the Doggies! I'd suggest maybe a look at Liberatore over Brad Crouch, depending on how both go over the pre-season games. Not sold on Hannebery, think he is fully cooked at AFL level and was flabbergasted that the Saints gave him a 5-year deal. Think you'll find better value elsewhere.
Thanks @Jason , I really appreciate the feedback. Yep, lots of risky selections at the moment...thinking I might have to turn say Crouch and Hanners into a "guaranteed" gun, and perhaps even do something similar in the backline...to try and achieve say 13-14 true premiums. @walesy I agree. Surely it's just been a case of the dreaded OP or similar, and at his age he can come back. Surely.
I have tried to put together an early GNR based on highest owned rookies - except for Rozee dropping out due to $$$. Structure wise if I trade a premium down to a midpricer then I should free up enough coin to juggle players around as needed.
Rookies are obviously gutfeel atm, that said based on what's posted not keen on Quaynor or Scrimshaw atm. Fanboy says Williams is missing down back I like the mids but Walsh may not make you as much as a cheaper priced option. Similar rucks to my thoughts I;m not as keen on Dunkley as @Jason Overall looks avery solid initial squad
End of the season was so damn strong!! Wish he'd saved it to this year. He was a lock for my 2019 squad at the start of 2018
Yup, played pure MID once Dahlhaus was out with injury and his scoring exploded over the last 5 or so weeks.
