The Maralinga Atoms have notched up a win against the Port Lincoln Power 1377 - 1138. A good contest where both sides were let down by under performing or injured players.

ORFFF Round 5 Rivalry Round wrap

Jan Juc @thokash and Maralinga @Brett Sanders both maintained their perfect start to 2019 as they defeated Rutherglen (3-2) @tyze1 and Port Lincoln (0-5) @MrsBear respectively with the Atoms notching their 10th consecutive win (3th most all time in ORFFF history).

Mt Thirsty @leematty1 and Drouin @stowie moved to 4 wins with respective defeats of Useless Loop (2-3) @YAD69 and Mole Creek (1-4) @ViQBoZ.

Heard Island @anthak, Wedge Island @Bearfly and Black Swamp all moved to 3 wins with victories against Walpole (3-2) @port_leschenault, Neptune Island (2-3) @That KI Guy and MacQuarie Island (0-5) @Darran. Heard Island’s 5 point win was the equal 8th smallest margin on ORFFF history while the Whales 8th consecutive loss is the 8th longest streak in ORFFF history.

In the final rivalry round match Cockburn @Len defeated Nangkita (0-5) @Dale Duivesteyn in the lowest ORFFF aggregate match of all time with the 1945 total lowering the previous record set a week prior in Nangkita’s lRound 4 match. Nangkita’s 889 sees them register 4 of the lowest 10 ORFFF scores in their last 6 ORFFF matches and they have now lost 11 straight (equal 4th most all time). The Avengers managed to win despite managing the 2nd lowest score of the round and in doing so achieved the 3rd lowest ever winning score in ORFFF history.

Meanwhile in the 2019 ORFF* Knockout Quarter Finals the Shags and 29ers were defeated by ORFFU duo of Gisborne and Staghorn Flat respectively with the latter coached by fellow ORFFF coach @tyze1. The Boozers managed to salvage Triple F pride by defeating Korumburra of the ORFFU to move through to the semi final stage.
