The Semi Final ORFF* Knockout matches have been decided http://tooserious.net/forum/tsLeagues.php?leagueId=20&round=6

Two contrasting matches saw Gisborne annihilate Mt Thirsty @leematty1 by a massive 342 points and a 14 man Mount Buggery side defeat Staghorn Flat @tyze1 in a heartstopper by 3 points.

Congrats to Mt Thirsty and Staghorn Flat for making it this far and better luck next season.

The 2 victors will clash in the Round 7 ORFF* Knockout Grand Final and the winner will also qualify for the 2019 ORFF* Champions League where they will be playing Gariwerd Cockatoos @anthak from the ORFFA in the Round of 16.

Match 43 Gisborne Grenades @Tomster ORFFU vs Mt Buggery Disappointments @walesy ORFFL

The ORFFU and ORFFL are locked together at 6 wins apiece in their 12 intercomp matches in 2019.

The Grenades are 4-2 all time in ORFF* intercomp matches having lost first up in both 2017 and 2018, and are 2-0 against ORFFL sides. The Disappointments are 6-2 all time in ORFF* intercomp matches and are the first ORFFL side to make the semi final or final stage of an ORFF* intercomp tournament. They are 2-0 against ORFFU sides.

The ORFFU has swept all intercomp silverwear to date with the Vikings nabbing the 2017 Knockout and the Prospectors winning the 2018 Knockout and Sandgropers securing the 2018 Champions League.

Hopefully @Tomster and the Chief @walesy will drop by with their thoughts ahead of the match.

The Grenades are as surprised as anyone to have finally won a knockout game, let alone win 4 in a row to reach a final. To say that it is all clicking down in Gisborne would be an understatement, but it would still be nice if Laird would score some points! Looks like there are no similarities in starting line ups depending on how @walesy structures up this weekend, but it shouldn't matter, my prediction is Grenades in a record 672 point win to keep the ORFFU domination going

Also, thanks for organising the comp @TheTassieHawk, great extra distraction!

As the Saturday night games get started the visiting Disappointments @walesy have shot out of the gates with 9/770 to the Grenades @Tomster 6/452 at half time in the big dance.

It's 3 vs 3 tonight with Lambert, Witts and Fiorini for Gisborne and the Bont, Dunkley and B Ellis for Mount Buggery.

The Disappointments @walesy have taken the Grand Final by the scruff of the neck and extended their lead to 12/1100 to the Grenades @Tomster 9/699 late in the third quarter.

Sunday's early game sees Pittard and SPS run out for Gisborne and Higgins and Goldy for the Mount Buggery side. The 320pm game then features Tim Kelly for the Grenades and Cale Hooker as the last player taking the field for the Pointers.

@Tomster 's crew will be aiming to reign in the margin below 300 by the start of the Crows and Dockers match as the Grenades trio of Laird, N Wilson and CEY complete proceedings unopposed.

Long suffering Mount Buggery fans won't be counting their chickens just yet but the Grenades will need to produce a monumental effort to take home the title from here and continue the ORFFU's domination of intercomp fantasy football.

It looks like a GF loss is coming Gisborne's way, even despite the Grenades scorekeepers having them on 753/9 (likely that Gisborne have made a mistake @TheTassieHawk!) Mount Buggery have been too strong all day and look like running away with this one.
