The 29ers have posted 11/931 as at Saturday night, needing big scores on Sunday from Thomas, Viney, Tarrant and Wilkie if they are to put some scoreboard pressure on the Woylies @port_leschenault side.
I’m very surprised to see I’m in the 8! This was meant to be a tanked year without a decent ruck, but Ivan Soldo has had other ideas and is leading us to a potential finals berth! Massive game coming up this week between the 29ers and Shags, with the loser likely dropping out of the finals race, and the winner giving themselves a better chance to beat off the Whitepointers for the 8th spot.
The genius move of trading out Westhoff at the midseason made all the difference in a close loss. The 29ers home crowd will be hostile as always when the 8th placed Shags @anthak side rolls into town looking to snuff out Black Swamp's 2019 chances.
The most significant milestones this week were the Woylies extending their club record winning streak to 8 in a row (eq 6th all time), the Bucks losing their 7th straight and the White Pointers only just avoiding their lowest ever score. Meanwhile in the 2019 Dangerfield Medal race the contending field is down to 3 Can Grundy thwart runaway leader Lachie Neale and join Dangerfield (2016 and 2017) and Gawn (2018) as winner of the competition MVP ? Can Nat Fyfe do the impossible and force a tie with Neale by snagging 10 votes in the remaining 2 rounds ? Game on.
