More importantly than those other games...
    http://tooserious.net/forum/threads/orffu-finals-2019.90514/#0mBdmyC5oUbCQhSr.97
...is the ORFFU losers finals of 2019.

Here, some of the most underperforming or absolutely worst teams in the league get to fight it out to be the biggest loser.
This year the qualifying competitors are:
    9) Pearcedale @TigersTooTough
    10) Groote Eylandt @YAD69
    11) King Island @Tylo
    12) Hughenden @Batfink
    13) Blanchetown @martyg
    14) Coolgardie @JPK
    15) Pakenham @ddsaints
    16) Serengeti @wrightbrendan

Sorry to Christmas Island @DamoH and Eden @HOLKY who are the most outstanding losers of season 2019.

Same as the regular finals, knockouts all the way, top ranked remaining team picks who they want to play against.
    Make your selections known please.

You'll have to try again mate - Christmas Island and Eden (bottom two sides, 17th and 18th) don't qualify for losers finals.

    10) Groote Eylandt @YAD69
    11) King Island @Tylo
    12) Hughenden
    13) Blanchetown
    14) Coolgardie @JPK

We only need a decision from @TigersTooTough on the Pearcedale opponent, and we're set.

Coolgardie Prospectors 1,274 def Hughenden Prairie Dogs 1,213

The Prospectors returned to Hughenden for the first week of the loser finals and showed Hughenden exactly why they didn’t make the final 8.

It was a close game all day but it was the defensive line of Coolgardie which proved the difference with Sicily (140), MacMillan (126) and Clark (111) containing a mediocre forward line of Hughenden. In his final game for Hughenden the big monolith Sandilands (107) won the ruck contest and gave the midfield plenty of opportunities with Oliver (96), Yeo (98) and Shiel (92) getting plenty of the ball but squandering their possessions when trying to find a forward target.

Hughenden’s drive from the Interchange bench of Shiels (124) and Battle (94) provided something for the home crowd to cheer about but it was the Rioli (113) show that captured the crowd and was the difference with the Hughenden defence looking woeful as he ducked, weaved, marked, kicked, handballed, bounced around them like training cones.

For Hughenden AMT (66) was stoppable this week and has been the barometer of Hughenden, all season if he is playing well he drags the team along for the ride but not this week. Well done to Coolgardie who march on toward another Loser encounter and for Hughenden it’s off to the trade/delist drawing board to contemplate 2020.

    BAFFU Awards

    3 Sicily
    2 MacMillan
    1 Shiels

    Loser Final Series Week 1
Groote Eylandt Barracudas 1,296 defeat Pakenham Parasites 977

Groote gets to host Pakenham for the loser final series week 1 match were clubs get to gauge where their players are in determining who becomes trade bait, who gets cut and who gets another shot at glory.

The Barracuda’s Houli rebounded from half back with a strong performance, Lloyd started half back picking up the scraps with 30 touches, Naughton stared forward grabbing 9 marks for 2 goals and Guthrie rotated through the congested midfield. The Parasites forward line had Setterfield rotating in defence, Hipwood started in attack kicked 2 early goals but then faded away, while Cerra also had time in defence and took care of Zurhaar. Marshall of the Saint variety hyperextended his knee in the first quarter, returned and played with heart for the rest of the day.

Off the bench Burgoyne had 14 possessions in defence, while Phillips played off the wing with 24 disposals. Todd Marshall for visitors played in the forward line, slotted 2 for the day while Butter didn’t make it after he failed a training test for his bruised sternum.

Both teams had out of position players chopping it out Jamie Cripps v’s Jake Carlisle, a home team win in the giant tap settled the team.
Hawkins was on fire with 13 grabs, kicked 2 goals and 4 behinds, Mihocek however was deadly with 4 straight. Riewoldt kicked the first goal for the match then left the rest to others and Zurhaar played the decoy to keep Cerra occupied. JJ for the opposition played the outside game, Oscar Allen kicked on in the forward line with 3 goals and Blicavs had 13 touches and support the big tap around the ground. Young Francis also didn’t pass the training test with his neck injury.

Young Dylan Clarke continue his tagging role up against the Bont, Marcus had his measure though. Sinclair stared forward, Sidebum had space and starred for the visitors and Gaff ran off the wing with pace with some great footy. But it was all Cuda’s in the middle the engine room running white hot blitzing their opponents. Berry on fire with 26 possessions, The Bont dealt with the hard tag, Corn Boy Cripps gunning it all day as he has been all year, the Magnificent Zorko showing no signs of last week’s hammy issue gave a master class.

In a similar way to the first round of the regular season the Barracuda’s were just too strong for the depleted Parasites. They have been smash by injuries all season so hopefully the time off now with their medical team can have them ready to go for 2020 @ddsaints.
The Barracuda’s will hopefully continue their performance in week 2 of the Loser Final series.

What a low scoring affair, the Barracuda's get defeated by @Tylo Monarch's who now head into the Loser Grand Final, well done.
    Match Report to come.
