    Round 4 – AFL Round 4 Date Thursday 25th June 2020
    THEME - FF Anonymous Round

I don't have a problem, you have a problem. No, in fact, we all have problems - the least of which may well be our obsession with fantasy football.

And there's no 12-step program to deal with this obsession (unless your name is @chris88 and you just up and leave, and even then the troublemaker still wanders by and writes up stupid unfunny fixture blurbs like this one).

So we should instead acknowledge our "issues" in a collective way through an appropriately-themed round, and then endeavour to control our desire to check fantasy scores before match scores.

Gundagai Grasshoppers V Foul Bay Chickens
Gariwerd Cockatoos V Cradle Mountain Devils
Nareewillock Nuffers V Wagga Wagga Wombats
Venus Bay Vultures V Marble Bar Misfits
Iron Knob Codpieces V Lovely Banks Lilacs
Mount Beauty Uglies V Wineglass Bay Packers
Waikikamoocow Incorrigibles V Larrikin Lagoon Lefties
Birdsville Battlers V Nowhere Else Wanderers
Charlies Opening Spelunkers V Whitsunday Warriors

It's pretty much "if you have a pulse and can walk" you get a game for the cows this week (and last week, and the week before). The medical guys hope that this happens this evening and will not commit past then:
    D - Bailey Williams
F - Tom Papley, Toby McLean

@That KI Guy - this week you'll get a look at a couple of players you tried to steal in the last trade window.

The Nuffers have named their side to take on the Wombats @Lenny120

Tucker, Ben Paton and Charlie Dixon are ins, replacing the injured Duursma and SPP and Clurey who were both dropped after a poor team showing last weekend.

SPP and Clurey are emergencies alongwith Ed Richards and Ben Long, as Duursma joins Dow, Geary and Hore on our growing injury list. Meanwhile in the 2's excitement machines Serong and Philp both get an opportunity to show the wares in the AFL and push for an ORFFA spot soon.

It would be remiss not to wish both Brad Ebert and JPK all the best for their AFL 250ths this week. It's a huge a pity that we didn't keep JPK on our books as having 2 club legends run out together at our home ground for such a significant joint milestone and possibly an ORFFA first in it's 9th season would unarguably be the high point in the Nuffers history.

Hopefully JPK and the Cockatoos @anthak are able to enjoy a moments distraction over a tough weekend for the Kennedy family who have lost the great John Kennedy earlier today.

Don't want to jinx thing by naming the cows' team as it is possible we may have 15 afield in their named lines. Shhh

Two games in and @snoz and his Hoppers are 423/4 while @ChiefRussell and the Chooks are 156/2.
    Looking like an ominous juggernaut.

Hope is a good thing, sometimes reality really sucks. This week, the Gov out, Fyfe injured. And that's by Saturday. Dunkley, Burton, Drew, Cameron, Howe and Newman already out. Struth.

In a "normal" year the cows (and other sides) could handle this short term set of events. Battle on, make the 8, regain players. But with this year's "Points For" based comp we are stuffed. Almost time to start the research on the early draft picks for next year.

    @graeme

No finals does change the complexion of the season. I sincerely hope that there are 2-3 teams in a close battle for first for the most part as otherwise it will feel like there Is less excitement about this year than others, even though this system rewards the best team over a finals lottery.

Cannot agree that "this system rewards the best team over a finals lottery." IMO it will reward the team that suffers the fewest injuries to key players at crucial times. If I recall correctly, this time last year the 'hoppers were leading the comp by quite a margin. Then bang, they did did not play in the semi-finals.

ORFFA is constrained by the number of full afl based rounds in a year. So our (amazing) scheduling group put together a comp based on formal that has previously included finals - the format on which ORFFA is based. The team with the most quality and depth should prevail regardless of the comp format. Part of the beauty of sport - and a part I really enjoy - is that this does not always happen.

The Nuffers have managed 1231, some reasonable scoring amongst the reserves as well, even some former players - ie Cunningham at the Lefties - did all right.

Who knows whether that will be competitive against the Wombats @Lenny120

For the AFL experts out there saying that reducing player numbers on field will improve the spectacle - the Battlers and the Wanderers held a 14 a side game on the weekend. Can definitely say it was NOT an improvement! :)
