Vote required : ORFFA - Current Setup/format changes

Hi everyone,

I may not word this correctly as I am very short of time at the moment, so if clarification is needed please ask.

TTH has advised he is stepping down as coach of the Nuffers prior to the MSD.

There has been a lot of discussion both in public and behind the scenes around the size of the available talent pool impacting the ability for lower teams to successfully rebuild. We need to finalise that debate before I reach out to prospective coaches who are interested (and we do have some in the wings ready to go).

There have been a few options tabled.. including (but not limited to);

• reducing the number of teams
• increasing minimum delists at PSD
• reducing list sizes

Now before I start a conversation and debate on any of those, I want to back you all into a corner, and ask you to vote on one very simple question, and that is, do you believe the existing setup needs to change for the benefit of the ORFFA competition (not for you individually)?

So for the 17 coaches that have an ongoing vested interest in this competition, can I please ask that you simply vote on that to start with. Giving this is a preliminary vote, we will go with first past the post (50%) to instigate further voting/discussion.

I’ve voted. I’m near the bottom and struggling to field a team. I don’t think we should change the system.

I would however be in favour of rewarding the Nuffas priority draft picks to assist the new owner.

Good point Jen, though I think there are enough rucks in the system. It's just that some coaches hog them as trade currency. Some teams have 3 playing rucks.

 

And some have 3 non-playing rucks.

 

Ok no need for further votes on this, we have a majority.

Because there is only 3 more votes mate... as TTH is moving on there are only 17 coaches who are voting in reference to the go forward position of the Association
