    The Barracuda's finish on 1,347/15 89.8 defeating the Huskies @Wolffy84 on 1,194/15 79.6

The visitors ruck Witts gave it everything, 31 hit outs getting the upper hand in the tap, their engine room in Biorini, Harmes, Caldwell and Drew were solid to give their team every opportunity to get to the white sticks. Bailey working hard got 4 through, Gresham had 32 possessions and Homes lighting up the coaches’ bench with a beauty from 50 meters. Jiath had a massive Q3 where he took on the game by himself, Starcev had 14 touches, while Henry played a lock down role. Edwards was shocking and gave away 3 frees, off the bench Reeve also gave away frees and Ross just looked out of place.

The home side started off a little slow this week, building through the game. Stanley got out tapped by his opponent, however the engine room of Corn Boy Cripps who cherry picked and Bont who sharked all day with great support from Guthrie and Berry. The Bont suffered a knock to his left shoulder and Berry was reported for striking in Q2. Off the bench Zorko the magnificent and Smith each tagged in well. Zorko injured late in Q4. Graham did a lot of running gaining his 25 disposals, Errol slotted a beauty, Tomahawk bagged 3 goals but gave away just as many frees, while Naughton struggled after last week’s collision. Defence was led by McGov, with Lloyd doing Lloyd things and Hall & Weit keeping their opponents busy. The experience of the home side showed in the last quarter steadying the ship to take the points after the visitors gave it to them in Q3.

BOG – Z Bailey (HH), McGovern (GEB) & Jiath (HH)

The battle in the Goldfields became a bit of a massacre, thanks to @tyze1 and his visiting Bulls running all over the home-town Prospectors.

    upload_2022-4-5_8-7-34.png

As mentioned earlier, L Vandermeer stuck his single finger firmly in the air after being dropped, scoring 101 points, which would have been mighty helpful (although still not resulted in a win for the Prospectors).

The big stories of the day were A Brayshaw killing it through the guts, and S Coniglio lining up in the forward line to then run through the guts for a perfect one-two punch for the boys from Staghorn Flat.

    The votes:
    3 - A Brayshaw, Staghorn Flat, 176
    2 - S Coniglio, Staghorn Flat, 149
    1 - O Wines, Coolgardie, 118

The giant tap was a walkover by the visiting T Nankervis, scoring a very-acceptable 91 points, for a 34 point win over O McInerney (who was so angry with his performance that he lashed out and found himself in the naughty boy book).

Next week sees Staghorn Flat back home hosting the Huskies from Horsham, meanwhile Coolgardie are back on the road to Pearcedale to take on the Panthers. Good luck to all four teams.

Blanchetown Bunyips 1210 def Southern Cross Sandgropers 827

Well, that's it, time to retire with a win!!!

In the Bunyips first win of the season, its time to celebrate as it might be our last!

SCS arrived in Blanchetown with 6 players missing the bus making the event a very one sided affair. Solid performances across the board give us some hope for the remainder of 2022.

    BOG - Walsh (124) 3
    O'Brien (122) 2
    Docherty (122) 2

    Big Tap - ROB

Cow Bay 988 def by Pearcedale 1,306
Cow Bay suffered their second straight loss, going down by 48 points in a low scoring affair against the Panthers.

The Panthers were led by D Rioli (107), Simpkin (107) and Schoenberg (102). Chol (59) filled in for Darcy and Bobby Hill (68) filled in for Ben Brown, who both decided to take a trip up to Cape Tribulation and Cooktown rather than submit themselves to the taunts of the home crowd.

Cow Bay saw decent efforts from Taranto (112), Witherden (106) and Chapman (101) but weren't helped with no ruck being available, and a total of 1 point being scored between Scrimshaw (7) and Jack Martin (-6). FML.

    Big Tap
    Chol (59) defeated no one.

    BAFFU
    3
    Taranto (COW), 112
    1.5 D Rioli and Simpkin (PEP), 107

The loss pushes Cow Bay into 11th whereas Pearcedale climb a couple of spots to 13th.

In a belated report from Round 2, Ararat defeated Staghorn Flat 1383 to 1333.

Visiting Bulls had the game wrapped up going into the Sunday game, until the purple haze combined for 345 (Ryan 156, Brayshaw 189).
It was a great quality contest across all lines, save for SFBs mids (McCluggage 116, everyone else rubbish) and AAs forwards (Treloar 111, everyone else rubbish).
Bowey (151) played the game of his life and scored a PB, thereby winning the fanta pants duel against Rowell (71). Nankervis (99) toppled Gawn (88) with emergency Luke Jackson's 137 begging to be activated by a late withdrawal.
With around a 93 point average across all four forwards, Staghorn Flat really deserved the win, but unfortunately for the Bulls the coin flip went the wrong way.

    cheers @tyze1

It's Qtr time at The Stadium in the Rd4 clash between the Barcrawlers and the under-manned Sandgropers, with the local team holding sway over the visitors, 3/296 to 1/77.
The main talking point among the Banchang mob, has been the return to form of Tom Jonas (117) who was dropped when L D-U became available, and then brought back into the 15 when Taylor Adams came down with Covid.

The P Dogs have arrived on Barra Island and it appears the locals feel comfortable enough to let the visitors start without them. The P Dogs are out to the biggest lead they’ve held all season.

Steven May is inspiring the home troops in his milestone game while, at the same time, intimidating the opposition to even taking the field. Serengeti lead early, 335/84/4 to 0/0/0

Half-time at The Stadium and the boys from Southern Cross have exploded in the 2nd Qtr and brought this game to life.
Brilliant displays from both Neale (128), although copping a tag, and Rich (105) down back, have seriously narrowed the gap, and only Lyons (94), in his 101st game for the Club, offered any resistance.
Banchang still lead 5/451- Sandgropers 3/310.......
With a half still to come, one of these teams will break their duck......

Well it has come to light the P Dogs are playing at home which explains the easy start to the game and some hope. But upon arriving home to see the Baras ready to play saw the home team shrink into oblivion. The Baras kindly allowed the home team to keep their score from first 1/9th of the game played and promptly showed why they are a premiership contender by destroying the P Dogs in the 2/9th, leading by 369 points with 7/9ths to go. It’s going to be a long game fir the locals

3Qtr time at the Stadium and the visitors have taken a commanding lead through a fine display of aggressive football, especially thru the spine with Cummings (119) down back, a welcome return for Prestia (112) and Grundy(118) in the middle, and ably supported up front by Rioli, Dow and Darling ( 89, 83,80 respectively). Meanwhile the Barcrawlers failed to fire a shot in anger.
    Sandgropers lead Banchang 12/1040 - 10/824.
The remaining players for the Barcrawlers will need to perform above average, if they're to take home the 4 points.
Everything is pointing to a Southern Cross win.

    R3 Match Report - Korumburra Blowflys (5th) defeated Ararat Armadillos (1st) 1264 - 1148

The locals were pumped for this one with the town still abuzz after last weeks big home opening win, Buddy's milestone and the exuberant celebrations that followed. It's always an interesting arm wrestle between these two perennial finalists and this occasion proved no different.

Korumburra opted for an unusual 1-2-3 punch combination (Goldstein / Xerri / Preuss) in the big man department this week in an effort to combat arguably the most imposing and in form ruck combo in the league from Ararat in Gawn (117) and Jackson. The list management and club medical teams from KB were patting themselves on the back as big Braydon Preuss (109) finally found his way back onto the field and delivered. After years and years... and years bouncing between various hospitals, physio tables, biomechanical experts, ayahuasca retreats and a plethora of masseuses it was a massive sigh of relief and pleasure to finally see this gigantic cult figure once again on the hallowed turf of the Terrordome.

The 3 v 2 ruck rotation battle proved an astute coaching manoeuvre as the Blowflys basically nullified the Dillos perceived advantage there. Once the pill hit the deck, it was the sheer grunt of KB through the middle that saw them come out on top in this game. Once again it was Boak (133) Steele (121) and Dunkley (129) leading the way in the trenches doing their best to cover for their missing captain in Rory Sloane and the unusual late out of Tim Kelly. The Flys won the inside war against Ararat's young superstars Rowell (103) and Brayshaw (96) while Treloar's break away speed (104) turned some heads and set up many attacks for the visitors.

Nick Hind's (99) evasive skills and sheer speed the other way, rebounding from the back half was monumental for the locals. #1 Pick Nick Daicos (91) continues to improve being trialled in different roles around the ground, while already looking at home at the Terrordome. Perryman (104) and Blakey (96) were great for the visitors, picking up the slack from disappointing performances from Mcdonald and Ziebell this round which might have the Ararat coaching staff considering a positional shake up next week...

Ararat's Tom Stewart (104) can hold his head high (as always) but was rumoured to have stayed on in town to wind down after the defeat and was apparently last seen staggering out of one of the more questionable local kebab operations in the very early hours of the morning...

Blowfly legend, Lance "Buddy" Franklin (109) continued to show the world that he still has "it", tirelessly working higher up the ground to provide options this week, while still hitting the scoreboard.

Next round sees the Blowflys travel to the beautiful Eden to face another top 8 side in the Whalers while the Armadillos hit the road again, this time off to Cow Bay to face the Crocs.

    @insider

    3 - Travis Boak (KB) 133
    2 - Josh Dunkley (KB) 129
    1 - Jack Steele (KB) 121

It’s 6/9ths of the way into the game and the Barracuda juggernaut continues with a whipping of the woeful P Dogs who are destined to reach the bottom of the table by rounds end. Groote take a commanding lead into the final stanza.

Full Time at The Stadium, and if the 5 Banchang boys lining up to play the 4th Qtr against the 2 remaining Sandgropers, thought they had the 4 points in the bag, then they didn't count on the "backs to the wall" attitude shown by those 2 boys from WA, hungry to get their teams 1st win.
Both Laird (143) and Docherty (135) did everything in their power to thwart every move Banchang made and they succeeded admirably.
Only Hewett (120), with his 4th 100+ on the trot, and Dawson (97) had any answers for the oppositions performance.
In the end, Southern Cross ran out winners 1318 - 1286.
To make their win even more meritorious, they did it with only 13 players, and cleaned up in the BOG Awards with Laird 143, Docherty 135 and Neale 128.
They also claimed the BIG TAP with Grundy 118 defeating Ladhams 63.

Southern Cross now head home to host King Island while Banchang head over to Horsham to take on the Huskies.

    FOOTNOTE:
Even though the reigning Premiers, Banchang are scoreless after 4 rounds and sitting in 17th place,
we are sitting 7th in Points For (4802) (1200 per game)
and sitting 1st in Points Against (5365) (1341 per game)

You could say we've had a pretty tough draw in the early rounds..;)

Match report rnd 4 Pakenham v Xmas island

The home fans welcomed the Smugglers to town, and we’re eager to see another great game.
Unfortunately for the Smugglers it was only great for one team.
The Parasites managed to pull off a commanding victory.

Pakenham 1207 def Xmas Island 858

Xmas island had 3 players missing from the field which was always going to make it hard, they had good efforts from Bonner 124 and Viney 100 but that was about all, Crouch 98 and De Koning 84 toiled well but all to no avail.
Pakenham had some good games from Sinclair 135 Blicavs 119 Butler 111 Anderson 111 and Lukosius 101 with special mention to KING 98. The fans are excited to see him developing nicely.

The giant Tap wasn’t contested with Pittonet failing to show for the game. Marshall 78 def Pittonet 0

    Bog 3. Sinclair. 2. Bonner 124. 1. Blicavs 119
