2022 ORFFF Midseason draft and trade discussions

I messaged @tyze1 on Twitter, hopefully he manages to get on tonight so we can open the trade period sometime tomorrow

 

As the draft reaches it's concluding stages it is again time for all teams to consider their post draft trading intentions

Hopefully we see teams looking to rebalance or build put their expendable assets up on the block and the contenders throw caution to the wind and make offers of early 2023 PSD and 2024 PSD picks and/or young players to attract best XV talent as they look to match the Glow-Worms and Noahs when the ORFFF action recommences for Round 12 this time next week.

 

From a 29ers perspective we have stripped back our list over the last 3 years to what we consider is our limit.

While we are now less likely to hold the pieces to help teams get a boost to their best 15 or depth and push them over the top, we may be able to take on injured/out of form players in a like for like equivalent value trade given our focus is already on 2023-2026.

We are also happy to look at draft pick heavy, or draft pick swap offers given that we already hold 3 first rounders (as well as rounds 3 through 6) in the 2023 PSD and are also looking to trade back our 2024 PSD first rounder in exchange for improved positioning in the 2023 PSD.

Had to pinch my nose and put on sunglasses to make that pick. At least its only for half a season.

 

A reminder that the current trade period closes 9pm 21 June 2022 (Melb time) - so in about 8 hours time
