I think Dale is somewhat distracted atm.
@James84 has to run the draft but in my experience the days are often more important from an organisation pov than the dates so the adjustment makes sense to me.
    Thanks @TheTassieHawk for stepping up.

Sorry I hadnt seen that Len had liked it. That is reassuring.
I just found it a bit strange that DD had said we will go with the same dates as last year, and then you modified them. But I understand your rationale. Was just looking for some confirmation, and thats there now. No worries.

Yeah hey guys. Was given no opportunity to look at anything this week, given personal circumstances.

I'm running behind, if I need to do anything text me. I will probably hand over most duties to the league during the byes while I'm handling a newborn. I'll be right to go In a week I'd say.

Hey no stress, take as long as you need, and then a bit more! Congrats and blessings to your newborn :)

    Hey folks,
Are any of you interested to play fantasy NBA this season? We need one more coach to fill our third league.
The draft is this coming Sunday at 7:45pm AEDT (can set up a pre-draft list if you cant make it live)
The season starts on Wednesday Oct 19th
Our fantasy season runs through until Feb 5th; or March 5th if you make the grand final. So finishes nicely in time prior to SuperCoach 2023.

we probably should be looking to lock in some dates for the 2023 ORFFF pre-season ahead of SC opening

some suggestions from myself noting our draft has taken an average of 7 days over the last 3 seasons

Option A - assuming ORFFF Round 1 commences Thursday 23 March (Carl vs Geelong = AFL Round 2)
trade period 1 opens once supercoach officially opens (usually late Jan)
trade period 1 ends 10pm Tuesday 7 March
PSD delists due 10pm Wednesday 8 March
PSD commences 10am Sunday 12 March
when PSD is completed trade period 2 re-opens
trade period 2 runs until 10pm Wednesday 22 March

Option B - assuming ORFFF Round 1 commences Thursday16 March (Rich vs Carl = AFL Round 1)
shift the above dates forward by 7 days

feel free to suggest other alternatives !!

My understanding is we gain an extra round (magic round) but gain another bye round (4 byes) so can’t see the need for change.
Start our season at AFL round 1.

Canning the ORFFF All Star game (which was forgotten in 2022 and all but forgotten otherwise) would create the "spare" week and enable a bye week to be held anytime in the season, logically round 1 or round 24 would be the neatest bye options should the board decide that way forward for season 2023.

My post above was more about getting some dates in place sometime in the next fortnight, option A is the "latest possible" (only if it is a delayed start), option B would work in either case as would an earlier (February) start to the draft if preferred.

I'm all for starting in week one and finishing a week early from the AFL last round.

I lean towards option A, given the AFL pre-season has lost the structure and number of games of several years past the idea of a later draft when we actually have seen at least one proper pre-season round before the early picks are taken appeals. Grand final week aligning with the last AFL round doesn't hold the same fears of resting players as it once did either, so falling back in line with the rest of the fantasy/supercoach world with grand final weekend isn't such a bad thing either.

I am reading the dates as giving us 4 days or so for the whole draft?

And trading through till round 2.

It appears I've missed reading several memos, I like the late start though, and am taking it a step or two further in addicts :)

Mmm, it would’ve been good if more people gave feedback on TTH’s options of dates. I would’ve preferred a round 1 start to our season, but I didn’t speak up about it, so can’t complain really.

Why are we going with round 2 start instead of round 1 when there was only 1 coach that posted for round 2 start?

    True, only Darran did.
Whereas Yad & KI Guy spoke up in favour of a round 1 start.

And a few of us liked the three combined posts with thoughts. But round 1 should be the usual go.

Given there wasn’t much buy-in on TTHs proposed options (only 3 gave feedback, not enough to identify a league consensus), the board discussed and made a decision.
Hats off to @TheTassieHawk for pulling it all together and giving us a way forward.
