Welcome all to the new season of ORFFF footy with all 16 sides gleaming with a fresh coat of paint and high hopes for 2023

    Rutherglen Fugitives (8th 8-7) vs Mole Creek Glow-Worms (1st 14-1)
Reigning premiers MCG travel away to RGF to commence their quest for B-2-B-2-B titles and ORFFF record equalling 14th consecutive win

    Neptune Island Noahs (2nd 12-2) vs Black Swamp 29ers (14th 5-10)
2022 Runners Up NIN host the ORFFF'S youngest side in what is likely to be a 1 sided contest

MTB hosts 2022 prelim finalists NKB

Wedge Island White Pointers (5th 9-6) vs Macquarie Island Whales (11th 6-9)
The emerging White Pointers host Mac Island

Maralinga Atoms (6th 9-6) vs Jan Juc Ducks (12th 5-10)
MLA hosts JJD who wil look to rebound after a disappointing 2022 season

Heard Island Shags (7th 8-7) vs Cockburn Avengers (15th 4-11)
The final 2022 prelim finalists host the ORFFF side who shape to be the big improvers of 2023

    Walpole Woylies (9th 7-8) vs Drouin Dropbears (13th 5-10)
JC takes the reigns for Walpole’s opening round match with a rebuilding Drouin side who managed an upset victory the last time the 2 sides met

Useless Loop Virgins (3rd 11-4) vs Port Lincoln Power (16th 0-15)
ULV look to prevail against a PLP side who will be keen to notch a long awaited win in season 2023

Good luck all and be sure to get your team into TSLeagues well ahead of Thursday night and then tweak the lineup until the round lockout takes effect.

Thank you for setting this up.

    Cant wait for round 1!

Just to be clear to everyone, the board did have a discussion about the rolling lockouts and we think it's best we stick to the traditional setup of this league and have decided to not have rolling lockouts (with the partial exception of Thursday games lockouts and Monday game lockouts. If anyone would like an explanation on what that means, let me know. However it's the same setup as last year and most years prior, so shouldn't be too much of a worry)

    Black Swamp Round 1 (2023)

The 29ers match committee have named their Round 1 lineup (subject to change) for the dawning of the post Selwood era matchup with 2022 Runners Up Neptune Island @That KI Guy.

With some long term injuries and form issues for our nominal best 15 we have called on reinforcements with a host of players making their ORFFF and club debut including the newly united Hollands brothers (Elijah and Oliver).

    In (since Rd15, 2022) - J De Goey, L Breust, J Goater, S Ryan, J Jeffery, E Hollands, O Hollands
Out (delisted/retired) - T McCartin (delisted), M O'Connor (delisted), C Taylor (delisted), Spargo (delisted), Selwood (retired)
Out (other) - Sonsie (omitted), Lipinski (injured)

Chapman Hardwick Young Goater - H Clark
LDU J Daicos Bont JDG - Schoenberg
Breust Jeffery Ballard (oop) JHF - Sonsie
    S Ryan - no emg
    E Hollands O Hollands - Cowan

Our sole goal this week is to close the gap on the Noahs considerably from 2022 when we copped a club record 525 point hiding.

Ducks fry together. Had a few playing last night, Kennedy was the only one to really perform. Might have to consider sending Tomahawk back to the magoos. S Ross and R West come back in to the squad but without a preseason they won't be considered for selection.

    DEF: A Aliir, J Lever, E Richards, J Noble (B Zerk-Thatcher)
MID: Shuey, Crisp, Amon, Boak* (M Kennedy)
    RUC: Grundy
    FWD: J Cameron, T Stengle, M Owens, T McDonald (T Hawkins)

How come teams aren’t locked and you can still make changes after the game has started?

Something bonkers with tonight’s game in the system.

Based on the advice earlier in the week the triple F Lockout is in effect via an honesty system before the system locks as at tomorrows first game, which apparently should be fine.

The visiting 29ers hold a narrow lead 10/811 to the Noahs @That KI Guy 11/743

However Neptune Island boast stars Warner, Moore, Parker and Gaff on Sunday and should post a lead for Hardwick, Breust, Jeffery, E Hollands and half an out of position forward target Ballard to chase late in the contest.
