Unofficial scores have the Boozers @leematty1 running out triple digit winners over the 29ers side 1080-953. With Black Swamp running 3 players short they are wanting the midseason break to arrive shortly so the list can be marginally strengthened through the departure of some of the AWOL playing group.
The Woylies @JC finish on 1,479/15 98.6 to the Virgin's on 1,423/15 94.9 High scoring game by both teams, especially by Butters, Merrett, Daniel & Sicily.
Wow. I didn’t even bother checking this week as half my team isn’t playing but seems like yours is even worse.
Injuries hurt, but are not to bad if you have depth to replace them 6 listed players at the 29ers playing seconds footy while in their 3rd or 4th year in the AFL is a major factor driving the number shortfall, with several of these facing the chop at midseason and the others fighting hard to remain on the list for 2024.
The Dropbears massive score and beatdown of the Noahs and the Woylies 7th straight win as they dispatched the Virgins in a high scoring thriller were the highlights of ORFFF Round 9. Elsewhere Mole Creek, Maralinga, Jan Juc, Mt Thirsty, Rutherglen and Port Lincoln also notched wins. I noticed that Jan Juc and Mac Island combined for a top score in the 90's - without checking that may be the first ever ORFFF match where neither side had a player reach triple figures. Ladder wise the top 3 are all 8W-1L having established a 2 game buffer to 4th through 6th who are all 6W-3L and in turn 2 games clear of Drouin, Mt Thirsty and Rutherglen in 7th to 9th with 4W-5L records. The five 3W-6L teams need to string win together if they are to make a late charge while Cockburn and Mac Island appear to be out of the running as they languish in 15th (2W-7L) and 16th (1W-8L) positions.
