Interesting round before the byes start, a few teams jostling to reinforce their playoff credentials, quite a few will have their MSD draft fates dramatically altered this weekend. Neptune Island Noahs (6-3) vs Mole Creek Glow-Worms (8-1) Mt Thirsty Boozers (4-5) vs Maralinga Atoms (8-1) Useless Loop Virgins (6-3) vs Jan Juc Ducks (6-3) Black Swamp 29ers (3-6) vs Walpole Woylies (8-1) Cockburn Avengers (2-7) vs Rutherglen Fugitives (4-5) Nangkita Bucks (3-6) vs Heard Island Shags (3-6) Port Lincoln Power (3-6) vs Wedge Island White Pointers (3-6) Macquarie Island Whales (1-8) vs Drouin Dropbears (4-5)
No specific mention at all of the Grand Final replay, coach @That KI Guy should have no trouble firing up the Noahs side now !!
2023 ORFFF Round 10 edition of last time they met - including a mention of last years GF ! - 2022 Rd 1 - NKB def HIS by 280 points - 2022 Rd 5 - RGF def CBA by 107 - 2022 Rd 10 - WIW def PLP by 221 and MIW def DDB by 221 - 2022 Rd 13 (AFL 16) - MLA def MTB by 100 and WPW def 29ers by 304 - 2022 Rd 15 (AFL18) - ULV def JJD by 7, ending the JJD season on a disappointing note with a 5W-10L record - 2022 GF (AFL 22) - MCG def NIN 191 to take out back to back titles, after also winning by 62 when the 2 sides met in Rd9
This will be a walkover. My fwd line is a mess and my defs and rucks are underperforming. Bring on the MSD.
Amazingly the 29ers have managed to field 14 players this week with the addition of Joel Jeffery and Charlie Lazarro to last weeks bare dozen. We are expecting a tough week against the Walpole side who are flying high under the guidance of new coach @JC and tracking well for a finals double chance. A round 10 loss would slot us into either 2nd or 3rd in the MSD order, while a win would see us slide to 5th. Given our MSD shortlist is currently 2 players long that would present a potential problem.
At half time of the final match of the round the Woylies @JC have notched up win number 9 for season 2023 with unofficial scores having a total of 1092, with another half each from Andrews, Coleman and ROB to come, to the 29ers 1051 all out, and no less than 3 players subbed out for the round. Hopefully we will see a score update for the match between Rutherglen @tyze1 and Cockburn @Len to see how the early picks in the MSD have landed.
Fugs improve to a 5-5 record while barring an ORFFF record high score from MIW then pick 1, 2, 3 will be unchanged from the ladder after AFL Round 10 (MIW @Darran, CBA @Len, 29ers TTH)
