Yup thank goodness too! Although i hope it doesn't dumb the game too much. I'm sure it's just to help the casuals through this year given the different nature of the game.

Magic# looks now to be ~4865

Goddard: $633,700/[2735/21]=$4,865.704 per point
Swan: $617,300/[2791/22]=$4,865.855 per point

Walesy will no doubt have all this up in a couple of days once all the prices are released anyway, but averaging those two 'magic numbers' and applying it to a few big names from last year

Riewoldt: $529,900
Chapman: $566,500
Selwood: $573,200
Pendlebury: $537,900 (tempting? or do you have to start swan?)
Sandilands: $554,700
Judd: $576,700
Montagna: $558,700
Cross: $554,500
Hodge: $566,700
Fevola:$240,700
RELTONNN: $68,100 (tasty!) ;)

I think it's probably to keep the scores the same given the bye comes in and you're down 1-2 starting players a week (and worse carnage at triple bye time)

I dunno, I've got a team that I'm happy with and have since found an extra $500k to play with! Seriously, the way it's looking- I'll have a fully upgraded team by round 11, with maybe 10 trades to finish up the season with...

crazyness!!

Just an observation:

You've got the same $10m budget to pick more players.

2010 - 30 Players with $10m = $333,333 each, magic number 5311 (ablett)

2011 - 33 players with $10m = $303,030 each, magic number 4865 (ablett)

30/33 ~ 4865/5311 ~ 0.91

Let's wait on the rookies Walesy before you get too excited.

10 trades would be used for injuries and stuff ups given our track record the last few years.

Wills, On the more players, well you just pocket the savings to get another prem or two and chuck in 3 more rookies.

So, does anyone know exactly what Swallow's going to be? Has anything been leaked about the mature aged rookie start prices - will they remain 83k?

Until these are handed out, I'm not commenting on whether SC has been irreparably dumbed down

There-in lies the problem. They are giving us extra cash, based on the average price of your onfielders, to spend on our bench.

So we've got roughly an extra 10%, or roughly $1 mil to spend on our three new positions.

But the bench is cheaper than "average". So in essence, we've been given $300k to spend on our bench, and an extra $700k to spend on the field (1-2 extra premiums!)

Just for the reckon, I'm using the fanplanner's numbers- so $212k for Swallow. I couldn't imagine him being any higher than that- and looking at how it's gone so far, can see them just putting a premium on the first 16 picks of round 1- which would probably free up enough cash for another half a premium... ;)

I think the gold coast prices will have GST added to them to throw a spanner in the works.
2013 is gonna be a real hard year with no new teams. I guess we probs wont have the bye rounds then though.
