I tossed up between Lohmann and Wood and went the other way....mainly looking towards 2025 and beyond.... But I just traded Wood in for Papley in Supercoach........
I know it's the rules as such........but I just can't fathom why the top 4 teams are permitted to improve their teams, if possible, when the bottom 6 teams, the ones who obviously need to improve their teams, are shunted to one side and told, bad luck, you have to finish the season with the 20 players you already have. Surely it would be better for all teams to remain equal, and no player movement be allowed after the Home and Away season is done. If there's something here with our League setup that I'm not aware of, can someone let me know, as I just don't get it..
Yeah they’re hardly improving their teams, they are trading purely for match ups and to cover injuries
Yes I agree and I'm sure the bottom 6 would like to be able to cover long term injuries too, IF they occur while our finals are on.....so if one of my players, or yours for that matter, does an ACL in the next couple of weeks and is out for 12 months.....I can't go to the FA and replace him. It's down to just bad luck......but the top 4 teams are allowed to the replacement, because they're playing finals... But it appears I'm flogging a dead horse...........and it doesn't look like he will revive any time soon, so I'll see myself out.
I do see your point mate but figure anyone they bring in is more than likely delisted in the off-season. The guy they keep instead of the ACL guy who gets delisted is already on their list.
It follows from the commish's comments that the only teams that can trade players are those playing in a particular week. So, a team out of the final four because they lost the minor preliminary cannot exchange players, likewise a team through to the final because they won the major preliminary (thus not playing in the penultimate week) also cannot exchange players.
correct - only 2 teams able to trade this week as one has the bye, and if your player goes down now (or during the actual finals when none of us play) then you simply delist him next year and pick someone in the draft - you can delist as many players as you like for the preseason draft
looks like i inadvertently killed the first round of finals - but congrats to Tylo for just scraping through, and better luck next year Damo (but a great season from you). Good luck to both Graeme and DM for this week
out: Tanner Bruhn; an epic failure if there ever was one. Will post his replacement at some juncture.
