We have arrived at the important final fortnight as the 2024 ORFFF season reaches the penultimate stage with 2 mouthwatering preliminary final clashes

    PF1 - #1 Mt Thirsty Boozers (15-2) vs #3 Walpole Woylies (13-4) @leematty1 @JC
    • Last time they met - 2024 Rd 10 - WPW 1301 def by MTB 1547
    • Finals records - MTB 7-3, WPW 11-7
    • Mt Thirsty have reached their 2nd prelim final while this will be Walpole's 6th
    • Mt Thirsty won the 2018 premiership while Walpole went back to back in 2019 and 2020 and made the 2021 Grand Final before losing to Mole Creek
    • Previous finals meetings - MTB ahead 2-1 - 2019 SF WPW 1306 def MTB 1280, 2018 EF WPW 1332 def by MTB 1372 and 2017 PF MTB 1393 def WPW 1252
    • A rested Boozers outfit have strung together 9 straight wins and will be looking to win through to the 2024 big dance but will be heavily tested by a Walpole side that have topped 1450 in both of their finals so far.

    QF2 - #2 Neptune Island Noahs (15-2) vs #8 Black Swamp 29ers (10-7) @That KI Guy TTH
    • Last time they met - 2024 Rd 10 29ers 1387 def by NIN 1656 and 2024 Rd 17 NIN 1307 def by 29ers 1327
    • NIN lead the H2H 9-2
    • Finals records - NIN 17-6, 29ers 2-3
    • This is the Noahs 7th prelim final out of 8 finals campaigns while the 29ers are playing in their first ever prelim final, meaning 13 of the 16 clubs have reached the final four across 9 ORFFF seasons
    • Neptune Island have won the 2017 and 2023 premierships and are striving to be the 3rd team in ORFFF history to go back to back
    • Previous finals meetings - NIN ahead 1-0 - 2016 QF NIN 1263 def 29ers 1081
    • The Noahs will be ready for this big occasion while the 29ers are in form and playing with house money and are looking to upset the Noahs for the second time in a month knowing that both previous meetings this season have been won by the visiting side.
Best of luck to all teams but a fraction less luck to the Noahs !

The unofficial scoreboard has the visiting 29ers 10/936 ahead of the hometown Noahs 9/873 @That KI Guy

The teams have 3 players each in the early Sunday game which will see the underdogs wanting to extend their lead well into 3 figures before the reigning premiers look to exploit a 2-1 personnel advantage in the middle Sunday game.

The final game sees the Noahs Nic Newman face off 1 to 1 with the 29ers Elijah Hollands with all the remaining chips in play to see who will qualify for the 2024 ORFFF Grand Final.

Some serious blue moon action has the Swampies well and truly in the hunt here.

Early in the last quarter the unofficial scoreboard has the 29ers 13/1299 ahead of the Noahs 12/1153 @That KI Guy

The final matchups are Amon and Dylan Moore for the home side vs Hardwick for the visitors and then the aforementioned Noahs Newman vs 29ers Elijah Hollands finale !

It looks like the unofficial scores have this Noahs home 1519-1479 @That KI Guy

Hats off to the Noahs for a deserved win.

To the 29ers squad - a huge step forward was taken in 2024, hopefully that momentum continues in season 2025.

    Wow.
    That was some game.
Nail biting Sunday where Amon and Moore went next level.
Crippa threw everything at death try and get the win.
Well played @TheTassieHawk , exactly what you want in a prelim. High scoring fight to the finish.
A fantastic season for the Swampies, enviable young group to be reckoned with for years to come.
