Welcome to the 2024 ORFFF Grand Final

Mount Thirsty Boozers vs Neptune Island Noahs

A rollercoaster finals series sees the top two ranked H&A teams battling out for the ultimate prize.
Last time they met in round 9 this year it was tight tussle decided by only a couple of healthy handballs with the Noahs taking the choccies 1533 - 1492.

Fast forward a couple of months and the landscape has changed a little for both sides.
The Boozers have copped a few injury whacks in defence with Ridley and McGov sitting out this week, however this is arguably the Boozers deepest line with a bevy of blokes lining up to fill the void.
Their engine room is almost back to full strength with Miller back last week, though i'm sure they would certainly like the 2021 version of Hopper to show up this week.
Noahs have weathered the injury storm to various key cogs and now find themselves with an almost fully fit squad at the pointy end. Noahs welcome back The Chad this week and have their fingers crossed that the real Jordan Clark finds his way onto the park.

Here's to a fair and tight battle @leematty1

I think I have it right.
Boozers with some dodgy team selections (looking at you McKay) trail in a close contest.

    11-1002 vs 11-1021

we have Sinclair Steele Boak and Actes to come vs Clark Newman Libba and Sweet

Sheesh, as with the H&A season, nothing separates us as we head into the last quarter.
Will come down to who Bedford and Cincotta tag

Just don’t let my late swap from Buckley to McKay be the difference.
    Good season @That KI Guy

    F$&k me sideways!
Clark is doing everything he can to butcher this! Barely scored in last hour.
Noahs up by 15 with 30 mins to play.

    Cheers mate.
Was a hard, tight final that went right down to the wire.
My guys pulled away in that last 30mins but was seesawing all weekend.
Boozers have done very well to get so close given their position last season.

    Official Scores are in.

    Noahs Back to Back Baby!!!!
    Noahs 1455 def Boozers 1388
A truly unbelievable H&A season with the minor premiership decided by a sneeze.
Then a final series for the ages with some massively high scoring games.
Hats off to the Woylies, 29ers and especially the Boozers for pushing us to our absolute limits and making for such a final series spectacle.

The Noahs have made some bold draft and trade decisions to keep the list young(ish) and competitive whilst weathering the injury storms with a fair degree of luck.
Draftees Sweet, Dempsey, Sharp and Laverde have played key roles throughout the season and into the finals, fully repaying the faith shown.
On the other side of the coin, the trading of Zorko and the recruiting of Fyfe and Maynard were big fails, thankfully not catastrophic.

Big Dance BOG “the Big Jabber”
    3 - Flanders
    2 - Newman
    1 - Sweet

Thanks to all for a great season and shoutout to @TheTassieHawk for his amazing stat work.

See you all next year as you strive to prevent a Neptune three-peat.
