Full time at Eden Sporting Complex and it's Eden 992, Staghorn Flat 1290. Ah Chee did well with 92 as best forward. With Newcombe and McCluggage in the midfield, the Bulls did well. Jack Graham didn't want to do the ruck duties but pulled out too late to replace him. Briggs to return next week. Chandler scored 151... in the 2s. Acres doing 29 in the midfield needs a look at. Cottrell getting 88 was good for the Lucky Find potentially. BAFFU: Newcombe 3, McCluggage 2, Salem 1 Giant Tap: Nankervis 67 def Graham (DNP)
Well summarised, a couple of HPD players had a day out and with a couple of injuries to AA players made it closer than expected match which has helped HPD rise off the bottom to 16th place from a LOSS.
@ron swanson The Fall of Nuytsland The wind howled through the barren graveyard of Nuytsland, where the Viking clan had stood unchallenged for generations. Their warriors, clad in iron and furs, were as fierce as the storms that lashed their homeland. But this night, they stood weakened, their bodies wracked with fever, their strength sapped by an unseen plague that had swept through their ranks like a vengeful spirit. From the sea came the Carnamah Cormorants, black-plumed banners snapping in the wind. Their warriors moved with the cunning and precision of their namesake, striking as one before retreating, luring the ailing Nuytsland Vikings into the mist that coiled around the ancient graves. Clad in dark leathers, their armor light but their weapons swift, they darted like the seabirds that gave them their name—harrying, circling, and striking where the Vikings were weakest. Matt Crouch ( 143 ) the Stone stood at the forefront, his sword heavy in his fevered grip. "We will not fall to scavengers!" he bellowed, but his voice cracked, and his warriors, though proud, could barely lift their shields. The sickness had hollowed them out. Across the battlefield, Will Ashcroft ( 104 ), leader of the invaders, saw the weakness. His clan, hardened by coastal raids and years of studying their enemy, surged forward. They did not engage in a drawn-out melee—such was the Viking way, and the Cormorants had no interest in honor-bound duels. Instead, they struck from the flanks, cutting down the sick and exhausted defenders before they could react. One by one, the Nuytsland warriors fell, not to the strength of their enemy, but to the cruel hand of fate. Their homeland, once proud and unbroken, belonged now to the Cormorants, who perched atop the fallen stones of the graveyard, watching as the last embers of the Viking resistance faded into the cold night. The plague had done what no army ever could. The Nuytsland Vikings were no more 3 Crouch 143 2. Warner 122 1 Shultz 107 Big Tap Sweet 100
Match report out of Pakenham Pakenhams first home game for the year was a lackluster event. Both teams struggling along to produce some good scores, with Pakenham getting the job done in the end. Pakenham 1176 defeat Bueng Kan 802 Pakenham had Sinclair 145, Big Row 121, Darcy 117, Cerra 113, Sidebum 107 and Windhager 104 carry the load for some poor coaching decisions at match selection. Also nice to see Fletcher 94 getting a bit of it. Long way to go for the Parasites to hit form, hopefully some returning players will help that. Bueng Kan had some injuries to deal with leading in and unfortunately couldn’t overcome them. A few players short on the field made it an easier task for the struggling Parasites Cameron 112, Simpkin 102 and Wood 98 did all they could playing nice games, with Cameron’s battle with big Row being the highlight of the day BOG. 3.Sinclair 145. 2. King Island 1179 def Cow Bay 1126 In the closest match of the round the Monarchs scraped home largely due to the rejuvenated Jack Macrae (169) showing he's still one of the best in the business. After costing themselves the win in round one by playing with 14 when Tom Green forgot to get on the plane, the favour was returned by the Crocs as they played one short with potential match-winner Jordan De Goey not making the trip south. The Crocs will be hoping the pay-it-forward strategy continues next week when they host the Smugglers. Cow Bay were well served by runners Burgoyne (127), Clark (122) and Wilmot (101), as well as unlikely hero Paul Curtis (114). Chapman also played a selfless game negating Williams in the ruck. For the home side it was a fairly even performance with Richards (105) providing good support to the dominant Macrae. Votes 3 Macrae 2 Burgoyne 1 Clark Big Tap Williams 32 def Chapman 29 (oop)
The 1st session for Rd3 is over at The Stadium and the visiting Buffaloes have taken a commanding lead over the River Rats 4/320 to 1/109. The visitors have been well led by Merrett 106 and backed up by Ridley 86 and Sinn 80 down back. The home team's lone scorer was Durham with a well deserved 109. @wrightbrendan
Belated Round 1 Match Report Cow Bay 1,168 def by Pakenham 1,212 In a much anticipated tussle between these two team expecting to be amongst the top 8 at the end of the year, the Parasites came out on top winning by 54 points. The home side were well served in the defensive arc (Clark 107, Sheezel 106) and the forward arc (Rankine 128, Moore 94) but were let down in the middle. Hopper (82) was best of the mids and Chapman (6) battled hard in the ruck but was subbed off after getting bashed around by the opposing ruck. Wilmot (100) and Noble (78) provided strong cover off the interchange bench but couldn't hold off a stronger opponent on the day. The Parasites on the other hand were well served by their midfielders all day. Anderson (136) put in a BOG effort for the visitors and had ample support from Sidebum (109) and Cerra (106). Sinclair (95) and Wilson (91) were the strongest at either end of the ground and the coach was visible frustrated with former early round 1 pick Luko (43) who continues to tease. Horsham Huskies 1254 lost to Korumburra Blowflys 1350 The first home game of the season for the Huskies and they were keen to keep their solid scoring going and chalk up their first win. Well, one of those things happened. The Huskies were hit hard by the bye, losing Flanders and Witts, leading to an out of position ruck being used. The Blowflys were close to full strength and it showed. A high scoring game was on the cards early. The Blowflys were lead strongly by Xerri (136), Daicos (125), Dunkley (117), Daniel (116), Kelly (114), Georgiades (111), Howe (112), Dambrosio (109), Steele (106) and Martin (91). Yeap, 9 of the 15 on-field players scores 100+. The Huskies did what they could, lead by Powell (124), Drew (123), Caldwell (118), Roberts (115), Andrews (105), Henry (94), Holmes (91). The Huskies find themselves 0-2, with the second highest PF and the highest PA. In the end, the difference was mostly, if not entirely the ruck battle. Early in the 2nd and its a low scoring scrap at Mill Park @Mick SFB 294/4/74 KB 308/6/52 including a late out for Jack Steele
5/8th time in the Goldfields @Tylo I'm spewing with the late out of the Big O, X Lindsay getting injured, and some of my players doing rather average. KIM on the other hand should be bloody stoked about their forward line!!!
Progress score from The Stadium in Bueng Kan, sees the visiting Buffaloes declare their innings closed at 15/1136 with only Himmelberg (117) raising the bat from todays play, but was ably assisted by Dangerfield and Kelly with 84 and 82 respectively. And with that, they've decided to leave Thailand a day early and are on the next available flight home, taking their bat and ball with them. In reply, the River Rats are 11/879 with a couple of good knocks from Wood 119 and Langdon 109 and not to forget Max Hall with 85 in only his 3rd game for Bueng Kan. However the Rats are only 14 strong this round, and need Duggan, Simpkin and Neal-Bullen to combine for 258, when play resumes tomorrow, to get the win and 4pts. @wrightbrendan

Full Time at The Stadium and Serengeti have hung on to record a 9 pt win over Bueng Kan 1136-1127. Set 258 to get the win, the home team tried hard with Simpkin continuing his early season form with 119 and A N-B 74, but it was not enough, which leaves the River Rats anchored firmly at the bottom of the table. Horsham Huskies 1,310 def Hughenden Prairie Dogs 871 Hughenden’s poor start to the season continued with a dismal loss to an in from Huskie outfit. The return of Witts (109) saw Horsham take early control out of the middle with Holmes (127) providing supply to Gresham(101), Bailey(114) and Duursma (118) who could do no wrong. Andrews(109) controlled and directed the backline with the rest of the team providing consistent support to get the win. There was nothing to like about Hughenden except Thilthorpe (110) who tried all day to inspire his insipid teammates but to no avail with the Huskies smashing them all over the ground. Horsham looked solid and although this was their first win of the season, their consistency will trouble a number of opponents and may see them in the 8 come finals. Whereas Hughenden will be wondering where their first win will come from and if a wooden spoon is on the cards. 3 Holmes - Huskies (127) 2 Duursma - Huskies (118) 1 Thilthorpe - Hughenden (110) Big Tap – Witts @Wolffy84
Late outs, byes, and some downright terrible performances have absolutely screwed over the home side Prospectors, as we were on our knees facing the visiting Monarchs from King Island @Tylo The visitors would have had to have been super stoked about the forward line, putting in a performance for the ages, including S Davidson putting in a BOG performance in only his third game, and looking to revive the POOYA. While home side ruck, the Big O, was a late out, having no-one to cover for him meant that the visitors' B Williams had a day out to himself. It didn't translate to midfield dominance, with 3/4's of the Prospector midfield topping the ton (only stand-in Wehr getting a very late call-up was the letdown), while the Monarch mids were somewhat of a shambles. It didn't really matter though, as whatever manner the ball made it to the Monarch forward line was good enough for those boys to completely outplay the Prospector defense, and put up some huge numbers! At the other end of the ground it was a tale of two halves, with two Prospector forwards and two Monarch defenders keeping the coaches happy, while the remaining four boys were too busy chasing Pokemon (or whatever it is the kids do these days). The benches for both sides were a shambles. Short brought his long kicking game and scored some points, while Lindsay could be out for a while with a knee (like everyone else, he's got two knees, but one of his looks severely damaged!), while the visiting pine saw only Jiath turn up for a run, but he spent most of his time just watching the ball rather than going to get it. The boys from King Island will be happy with the win, but not with the performance, while the boys from Coolgardie will be scratching their heads trying to put together a competitive team for next week. King Island will continue their road trip, this time to Korumburra, where some flyspray will be in order, while Coolgardie are back on the road to Horsham to take on some Huskies. Good Luck to all four teams. Giant Tap A walkover with B Williams, King Island defeating the absent O McInerney, Coolgardie, 93 to 0.
