The Barracuda's finish on 1,101/15 73.4 defeated by the Bulls @tyze1 on 1,243/15 82.8 The backline was stretched this week with most a showdown of their normal self, the Magnificent Zorko and Lloyd moved well for most of the day, Jones was back earlier than expected from an injury and Weit just couldn’t get going. Liba was the only one that stood up in the hot zone, Jarrod Flavour Berry and Bedford had some good run and carry but with Corn Boy Cripps being Sholl’d it was a tough day at the office. Grundy got it done over Nank. The rest were … well were slow and looked shit. The visitors had a day out with Whitfield and Bowey strutting their stuff. McCluggage was on fire, followed by the ladies’ man Heeney. Parker pen used his clean hand and boot to keep the score ticking over for the visitors. Richards and Hill were like the dynamic duo on the turf. At the end of the day the Bulls steam rolled their way to victory. BOG – McCluggage (SFB), Whitfield (SFB) & Paker (SFB)
Blanchetown Bunyips 1393 def Carnamah Cormorants 945 @ron swanson Well, what a special day in Blanchetown. A sold out event and we even managed to get Brian Taylor (BT) to commentate the game for the live coverage. The Bunyips again managed to field a full side (which is itself a record) and unfortunately the visitors were missing a couple players which made it hard for them right off the bat. Most lines from both teams had solid scores especially from the visitors with D Rioli top scoring on the day with a mighty 163. Nick Madden was spotted getting off the bus, saw he was up against the people beard and subsequently jumped into an Uber and headed back to Carnamah. Hopefully he is found soon and can return playing for the Cormorants. BT also had to leave the ground early and was checked into the Blanchetown Regional Hospital. He suffered a minor stroke whilst yelling "JUST LOOK AT HIM GO, THE HORNY ONE!" as JHF did his absolute best to get the home crowd into a frenzy and get the Bunyips over the line and securing top spot on the ladder. BOG - Rioli (163) Horne Francis (153) Ashcroft (130) Big Tap - Gawn 122 def Madden 0 Special mention goes out to Ashton Moir (1) who tried hard but got stuck on the bench for most of the game. This week the Bunyips are at home again against the Bulls, whilst the Cormorants get a much needed home game against the Barracudas.
Round 4: Ararat vs Pakenham Another home game for the Armadillos and another tight affair. Pakky had winners all over the field, with Sinclair (118), Idun (110), Anderson (102), Sidebottom (124), Darcy (141), Hogan (138) and Butters (107) all reaching triple figures. Astounding work by the Parasites! They did have some low-lights as well, with Rivers (37) and Marshall (61) underwhelming and Blicavs didnt even turn up. Windhager come from the stands to fill in, but 47 didnt cut the mustard. Armadillos didnt have as many centurions, but Ryan (134), Stewart (118), Brayshaw (135), and Soligo (126) all tonned up. Higgins reached a season high 96, but O'Brien (68) and Laird (58) were rubbish. Armadillos waved the white flag internally, but Luke Jackson (115) was that keen he sacrificed a hamstring to try and get them over the line. In a see-sawing contest, the final result was AA 1423 def PP 1363.
I understand Moir was given an encouragement point for being able to write his own name on the team sheet
Horsham Huskies 1087 lost to Coolgardie Prospectors 1275 The Huskies needed a win, having fallen to a 1-2 start, but were not going to be helped by losing 7 players to the bye. The Prospectors smelt blood and rightly so, with the Huskies naming anybody they could find to play. The Prospectors has solid contributions across the board, with 5 100's, and 3 more scores above 80. It was all about Darcy Jones who scored 160 points (*checks notes numerous times to confirm that*), and then more predictable scorers in Serong (142), Wanganeen-Milera (123), Big O (114) and Miller (108). Just 3 100's was never going to be enough. Guthrie (114), Witts (100), Harmes (100) played well but none could even finish in the votes. The news just kept getting worse for the home team as injuries to Caldwell and Henry will make things tougher in the coming weeks. Big Tap Witts (HH) 100 defeated by Big O (CP) 114 Votes 3 - D Jones (CP) 2 - C Serong (CP) 1 - N Wanganeen-Milera (CP)
The Buff seem to have this one under control into the second half @Mick Serengeti 917/9/102 v Korrumburra 892/11/81
Blanchetown Bunyips 1258 Def by Staghorn Flat Bulls 1370 Well, what can we say as a coaching outfit... We were beaten by the better team to give us our first L for the season whilst the Bulls continue on un-defeated. When the chips were down and the Bunyips started losing, Captain Dawson went missing (same in real life) with a paltry 60. Other piss poor performances from Miller (46) Hardwick (26) Freijah (50) and Daicos (59) just were not good enough. Solid performances all over the field from the Bulls were the difference and they are definitely a team to watch out for in 2025. BOG - Gawn (145) Walsh (141) McCluggage (135) A huge battle for the Big Tap with Gawn (145) just beating Nank (125) in a battle for the ages. Next week the Bunyips are on the road off the Hughenden whilst @tyze1 is hosting the Vikings at home.
