Blanchetown Bunyips 1,406 def Hughenden Prairie Dogs 906

The Bunyips celebrated Easter with an easy 500 point win over a lacklustre Hughenden side.

The Bunyips smashed them all over the ground with Gawn (117) providing first use out of the midfield – Rowell (130), Walsh (107) and Dawson (113). The forwards taking full advantage - the strutting peacock JHF (94), Keays (94) and Silvagni (93) doing as they wanted. The onslaught didn’t stop there with drive out of the backline through Freijah (124) and the bench of Atkins (101) and Diacos (119) doing just as much damage.

You might be thinking Hughenden had less than 15 players due to the holidays, but you would be wrong - there were 15 pathetic, chocolate laden players pretending to participate in a game they supposedly know how to play at the elite level. The playing group has reached a new performance low and it will be a long season of disappointment for the fans.

Hughenden stay at home for round 7 taking on the visiting Cormorants and the Bunyips return home to take on the Plovers.

Gawn easily won the Big Tap.

Best for Bunyips - Rowell (130), Freijah (124) and Diacos (119)

Best for Hughenden – The bar tab

Full Time at Aslings Arena (may have finally come up with a good name for the ground) and Eden win 1128 to 1043.
Amon top scored with 152 and KKP was 2nd with 134. It'd be worth a look at last time we 3-2d in a game. It was still a spirited performance from the River Rats with 3 90+ scores including Darcy Cameron winning the ruck with 90. Cottrell proved to be a good bounce pick again with 89 and can either stay in the forward line or take Acres's spot in the midfield.

It could have gone choppers's way if not for poor kicking with his Saints forward trio all having a bad time of it. They'll need to improve next week as we also do because both of us are facing the top 2 scorers of last week, Eden vs Blanchetown and Bueng Kan vs Korumburra.

    BAFFU: Amon 3, KKP 2, ANB 1
Giant Tap: Cameron 90 def Briggs 27

    The Barracuda's finish on 1,359/15 90.6 defeated by the Blowflys @Mick on 1,416/15 94.4

Wow, talk about out of the blocks early, that was the visitors, looks like they were on some super shit. Daicos 38 possessions, young Nic Martin roaming off the wing, Vlastuin the interceptor and Xerri smashing the pill out of the gate. Mannagh had a day out tackling everything plus slotting 3 for good measure and Shiel looking for that contract extension. Perkins came in for the suspended Peatling, Steele got tagged by Bedford and the new Saad played the last 1 minute of the game.

With McGovern back to steady the defensive line there always hope even with a slow start. Weit took a knock to the right knee early in Q4, Lloydy was solid, The Magnificent Zorko did lots of work off the ball. Liba ran down everything, Corn Boy and Jarrod Flavoured Berry were solid. Grundy kept up with the younger, McLean and AstroNaught booted 3 in an attempt to claw back the gap. Sharp was nice off the wing and The Bont was back with 30 possessions and 2 in the middle.

The visitors started too hot, and the home team couldn’t catch them even with The Bont’s return, what a spoiler the Blowflys are. Thankfully the game was of a high standard and there were good signs from the Barracuda’s after injuries to key players, with Oh Errol still to get back after the break.

A great victory by the Blowflys on the road.

BOG – Daicos (KOR), Vlastuin (KOT) & The Bont (GEB)
