Per the passed motion, we now have the official vote to dissolve Christmas Island and King Island, thus reverting to a 16 team league, having a workable 2026 fixture with finals, and more talent in the free agent/psd pool.

being the off-season, vote will be live for a week.

Ah love it, fuckery at its finest! I’d say I’m surprised but of course old mate has been angling towards this for a few years now. Bullies never like it when their behaviour is called out.

So it’s been suggested changes can be proposed that get put to a vote and a few people have agreed with the idea. Nothing has been added to the rules, no discussion has been had or decisions made regarding numbers needed to pass a change (flat majority, two thirds majority, minimum number of voters, etc) or about the timeframe. No, he’s taken it upon himself to put up a one week poll in November knowing that many of us are unlikely see it, including the people it directly affects. I’m tipping even JPK isn’t aware of it. Sneaky, sneaky, sneaky

The idea of kicking out an active member against their will is unprecedented in the ORFFs, its fantasy footy not survivor. Whilst 16 teams would be more convenient, you’d think if such a drastic move was to happen it would be a case of ‘last in, first out’. Or even better, maybe there’s a current coach who’s already quit once before. Someone who’s managed to get into disputes with at least 4 other members whilst everyone else manages to get along without problem.

Ignoring the obviously dubious validity of the poll, I’ll make a few points in my defence.

I’m an original member of the FU and have been a member of TooSerious for 20+ years, back to the days of TiB and Hornsy when this was a place for SC discussion before it became mainstream.

I regularly engage in discussions regarding bye fixturing and the rules of the comp and their improvement

I regularly engage in trade discussions with other members, 12 of 17 during the last PSD

Whilst I don’t do match reports every home game, I doubt I’d do the fewest and I’m certainly not the only one

So I’m not sure how we’re defining “no activity, match reports, community engagement, positive impact” but it doesn’t seem to apply. Let’s face it, you don’t have to be Sherlock Holmes to see why old mate wants me out and you’d have to be fairly gullible to think it’s any of the reasons stated.

All that said, if 10 of the 18 people here think this is an appropriate thing to happen then I’ll happily walk away.
