ok so 2 coaches - not looking great here, but still plenty of time

 

throwing it out there for thought and consideration early - we could fold both teams (MMM has been down the bottom for ever) and just have an 8 team league with 14 H&A games and a finals series.

from there we could either -
1. reset starting again from scratch (it is probably about time) and draft all teams anew, or
2. hold a special 2 round draft before the draft and delistings, and pick up the cream from those 2 squads, then delist and draft as usual, or
3. just delist and draft as usual

have a think about it and let me know as i posted in the other leagues that we are looking for a coach but have no takers

Thanks @JoshyC for the congratulations on Nomad Wildebeest winning the TS Addicts 2025 premiership. I will be back as the Nomad’s coach in 2026 as the club attempts to go back-to-back. On a points for basis there was only 0.87% separating the top ranked Nomad’s and the second ranked sNoZ in 2025.

If we can't get 2 Coaches for those 2 teams, then we dis-band both teams, but leave as is, in tsLeagues, until the de-listment deadline. That will allow all remaining 8 coaches time to visit those teams and see if there's any players that should be on their Draft wishlist.
Then we hold the PSD as normal.

 

I quite like @choppers suggestion.

MMM is a basket case which would struggle to find a coach. Whereas UNT is strong - hell, they finished fourth last year (with no coaching input?) and have a really solid core of players. I reckon something like as many as the first eight picks in the draft could be from ex UNT players.

I can see a situation where we end up with nine coaches and therefore a problem as i assume we do not want one team having a bye every week (?).

Needs more input from existing coaches.

 

Agreed, I like @choppers idea as well......assuming no other coach steps forward. Its only 2/2 so anything can happen yet - but its a great back up plan.

 

yeh i agree, MMM is struggle town and we cannot have a 9 team league, while UNT has a very solid list. looking at both lists, i see 15 odd solid picks across them both. i have got no takers yet for a replacement coach, so it is looking very likely to fold them both and go to an 8 squad league. This will work well from a scheduling perspective with 14 H&A games and a finals series, missing all the big bye rounds.

the call out is that we have priority picks in place, so MMM's priority pick would pass to BC, and this first round will have a strong crop of draftees. This might even out the comp a bit as to be fair, both BC and me have down the bottom a while now (along with MMM)...

i figure its a better game with finals, and these byes are here to stay, so alternatively we figure out a way to play through them via top ups from the pool etc, and not start so late and/or not have a huge mid season break.

for example, we could play through them all except R0 and have a 21 week H&A season, playing everyone 3 times, and still have a final series for the top 4, and just have top ups enabled during bye weeks (or no tops ups at all forcing more FA activity during those weeks and mixing the squads up, or leaving coaches with a decision to just drop a game)
