http://www.afl.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/208/newsid/107453/default.aspx <blockquote>Captain Nick Riewoldt will not play against the Lions and the Bombers, while Koschitzke, Gardiner and Sam Gilbert will also miss. "They are a bit behind. Sammy Gilbert had some tightness of the hamstring last week so he is a week behind where we need him to be. He is critical for us."</blockquote>
hahaha probably, but in good news, Tommy "The Irish Terminator" Walsh is going to debut!!! and according to that article could possibly help out McEvoy in the ruck
@ Hendy, Better now than in 45 days I have no Lions this year, big chance for the wooden spoon. Their 2010 B&F winner is gone and 2nd (Black), 3rd (Brown) and 4th (Power) in their B&F are all now hitting 30 or older this year. The loss of Brennan and Sherman won't help either. Not to mention Drummond as a reminder that they have gotta have the least durable backline in the league. Drummond, Merrett, McGrath Patfull, Maguire, Adcock
I guess it's better Drummond does this to me now than 3 games into the season. When will I ever learn?
Mumford...interesting he is out. Will it change anyone selecting him as R2 if he only plays one game before the season? Or none?
Mumford has the potential but I'm concerned that before Seaby was injured last year, he was talked up to be the number one ruckman while Mummy would be the back-up ruck. Clearly Mummy rucked at #1 when Seaby was out, but will they revert back to their original way of thinking and giving Seaby the first go at it? While he's not on my radar, for a big bloke i'd be concerned if he didn't get much match practice before the season proper.
I remember trading Seaby in right before he broke himself last year, he was on fire considering the price! About the other injuries; I can't help but think it's better to stay away from practically anyone on that list this year.. There's enough surprise injuries without inviting weak players into your team. "I'm looking at you Drummond, You weak-bodied, fragile champion!"
Kosi got some kinda infection and wont be back til mid/late March, whilst anyone with him in their side should be taken out the back and shot!!! It does open the door even more for Ryan Gamble....
<blockquote>Quote from Fez on February 8, 2011, 17:49 not looking good at port maybe load up on a few of there rookies</blockquote> Even their rookies are getting injured! Or sick, in Jacobs case. Hoping one of the ruck rookies shows something in the NAB to justify a closer look.
Cooney has had a hamstring injury in the off-season, not sure why his name wasn't mentioned on the official list. He won't be playing in the next 2 weeks.
Did he hurt himself on the eski? That right there should warrant inclusion in most peoples sides Thanks for the heads up though Jason, hopefully he makes a quick recovery (once the hawks have played you, that is)
<blockquote>Quote from austin on February 8, 2011, 18:11 Ryan Gamble will be interesting, I'm wondering how he will fit into our team.</blockquote> Possibly like Charlie Gardiner did... I'm hoping for his sake he can crack into your team, but, well, we'll see
