2026 ORFF* 10’s (Rd2 Teams)

    Hi All,

    Those of us involved in TS keeper leagues have increasingly dealt with idle teams across early an midseason AFL bye rounds.

    In response we have decided to trial a 10 aside modified ORFF* format competition over the 7 multibye rounds in 2026
    • ORFF* 10's (or Tens) team format is 2D-4M-2F-2IC (no R line) - with 1 emergency per line if teams can field over 10 players, as usual OOP in D/M/F = 50% points only
    • The squad used is the same as the team's ORFFL/ORFFA/ORFFU/ORFFF squad of 28 or 30 players
    • The competition format is a pseudo-Double Elimination Comp held in 4 and 8 team bye rounds
    • TSleagues won’t support the comp so all scores will be manually calculated by participating team coaches and posted in a dedicated ORFF* 10’s competition thread
    • OR team scores (with perfect hindsight post OR) used for Comp Seeding teams ranked 1-8 receive a double chance/easier path and teams ranked 9-16 must win 6 consecutive elimination matches, teams ranked 17 onwards based on OR scores do not qualify for the comp
    • Round 2 onwards match schedule as per diagram and teams to be named by Friday night lockout
    • H2H matches rds2-3 eliminates 8 teams
    • Rd12 is Minor Premiers GF (match 15) and 3 more Elimination Matches (Matches 16-18) in the right hand bracket
    • Minor Premiers rests in Rounds 14&15 and plays the Grand Final in Round 16 against winner of the 4 right hand bracket survivors

    Please note that coaches with multiple team can only enter once for this competition so please make a choice.

    Entries close at 9pm Melbourne time on Thursday 5th March, or whenever we reach 24 entries (noting 16 will qualify for the competition proper).

    FF - 29ers, Noahs, Boozers, Whales
    FA - Devils, Cockatoos, Grasshoppers, Packers
    FU - Bunyips, Blowflys, Monarchs, Prospectors

    Seeding to be updated as posted (1-8 = Double Elimination Bracket, 9-16 = Single Elimination Bracket)

      With 15 teams having posted their OR scores here is the AFL Round 2 bracket

      Please note that coaching matchups are posted in the OP.

      Please note that default Ten's matchups are 10 vs 10 in the format posted in the OP (2D-4M-2F-2IC, with 1 emergency per line)

      By agreement between opposing coaches some may decide to utilise a 11vs11, 12vs12, 13vs13, 14vs14 or 15vs15 format this week if they are not as heavily impacted by the Lions, Magpies, Blues and Cats byes. Just be clear on how many on each line, and whether a ruck line is being used (assuming both teams have a playing ruck).

      If this interests you please reach out to the other coach by pm and agree this by Wednesday 18th March at the latest, noting this week's 10's teams must be posted in advance in full by Friday night, with Thursday night being a partial lockout for Hawks vs Swans.

      It’s been ruled otherwise, top 8 and bottom 8 is the key distinction from OR, team will be far different in strength from OR to Rd2 so there will be low relationship for seeding to scoring expected.

      This weekend the Devils are on the road to play fellow ORFFA team, and one of our biggest rivals, @Snoz’s Gundagai Grasshoppers in the ORFF* 10’s. Cradle Mountain and Gundagai are playing against each other twice in three weeksa. In Round 2 (AFL Round 4) of the ORFFA the roles are reversed with Cradle Mountain hosting Gundagai in the traditional 15 player team format.

      The Hoppers without Patrick Cripps, Hugh McCluggage and Lachie Neale for the ORFF* 10's game still have a vastly superior midfield than the Devils. Given their nickname you would think that Jacob Hopper would play for the Hoppers, but no he’ll be playing against the Hoppers. Two ruckman starting on the interchange for the Devils isn’t anything new and Tim English and Toby Nankervis will try to wear down counterpart ruckman Brodie Grundy as the game progresses. Cradle Mountain have a higher quantity of players available for selection but I think Gundagai might have the advantage in terms of the quality of players in their 10 man team. Good luck for the game @snoz.

      AFL Team Line-ups - AFL.com.au - it would be worth everyone who has Hawks and Swans players getting their full team named on Thursday morning then adjusting on Friday morning for Thursday night teams.
